please reply, i need help. I have the g16 with i9 13900HX, RTX 4070 and 64gb ram upgrade. Im having problem where after playing days gone for around 15-20mins, the GPU wattage decreases from 100 to 30max watts, which then results in fps drops from 110 to 35fps. The temps before the drops were 100c for the CPU and around 75 to 85c for the GPU. I tried undervolting the CPU which helped the situation, but as you mentioned these HX chips are meant to run hotter, what is the problem with my case?
About that CPU temperature: HX-series CPUs are supposed to be undervoltable. So undervolt them and reduce the PROCHOT to 80C using Throttlestop, that should make things way more quiet without losing much performance. Your CPU and thermal pads for the VRMs will thank you. Same should be ideally done with every single laptop. Above 85C the silicon starts to degrade much faster, ideally this kind of powerful hardware should serve you for 10+ years, so make sure to rule out the possibility of the laptop dying in your hands due to CPU degradation just 3 years later. This actually happens often, especially with gaming laptops.
So, does this mean that even though they are meant to run hotter temperatures, you should avoid running it at those to prevent degradation? Im new to pc gaming and don’t know much.

Well I bought about a week ago a g16 with 13900hx, a 4060 and the 240hz screen and i like it. Glad to hear that it handles fine on a desk thermally. Its heavy and when the fans are 100% a bit noisy. I kinda like the giant power brick, it doesn't get crazy hot and the cord is nice and long. I suppose price is the main factor that makes it a bit meh but really i feel like its a good quality machine that i can upgrade the ssds or ram and keep in service for a long time. If anyones considering buying i would say definitely look for discount codes (i found one and got 5% off) or when its on sale.
price is meh? how much did you buy this for? this seems to be the best power for dollar thing. au $2400 for 4070? while the competitors are offering 4050 2000-2200 and 4060 from 2300-2600/2700 aud
THANK YOU!!! you seem to be the only one who addressed the intel motion sensor issue with a solution. Even the warranty guy gave me some BS like it happening because of the built that the RAM is vibrating and there is nothing to fix. Also One of my laptop (G15 5530) fan is vibrating and make a slight clicking sound but the warranty guy keep telling me that it is because of usage and dust accumulation (6 months old laptop) and that it cannot be fixed. Got it cleaned but still having the problem.
I complained in earlier videos about the keyboard backlight breaking, but an update this past Friday has finally fixed it. Edit: your keyboard looked two or three times as squishy as mine, a 4070 model.
Huh, the cooling setup and chassis on this laptop look almost identical to the HP Victus, right down to those topside intake vents. Great review as per usual!
HELL YEAH I LOVE THIS MAN (also technically the CPU P-Cores are based on Golden Cove, that particular chip uses the 8+8 Alder Lake die, as it's an HX chip)
Hey man love your reviews Any chance of seeing some 14-inchers on here? Quite a few are coming out this year (Zephyrus, Omen Transcend, MSI Cyborg) and a few undercovered ones from last year (Acer Triton, Gigabyte Aero-which I heard is especially bad).
Nit being able to charge with USB-C is so stupid. Sure you can‘t charge while gaming this way but I have seen a fair number of people using these chonkers in university as well (for CAD stuff or just as an office machine), you need more battery life but there is literally zero need for more than 100W of charging.
Dell has been burying fans under the motherboard since at least my Lattitude D620. Which has an early gen Core 2 Duo CPU. The fan is literally the last part to come out of the chassis after you've completely gutted the entire rest of the system. Liquid Metal just makes it even more egregious.... Welcome back. It's nice to see you uploading again.
I love this channel, when you go down the path of not defending bad design decisions I'm sure you got progressively less laptops sent for you for freeto review, so.you have to rely on your own money to give honest and true reviews, where can I find a donation button ?
not for the g16 but for my cas g15 that I do disable for intel dynamic application ... ... & intel Dynamic tuning ... & intel management engine wmi ... after it, max cpu load can maintain min.95W-max 110W continuously on G-shifted without throttling during over 10min. before it, immeidately dropping town to 45W it's insanly slow. G15(I think G16 also) has a good cooling solution the thermal exchange volume is enouth to use 100-200W total load from cpu&dgpu. i use it as this way without any problem 2years.
Do you think this laptop would be suited to be used for cad programs? I'm an Inbterior design student and need it for technical drawings and 3D rendering.
I have been dealing with the throttling and tech issues with this product for 6 months. If disabling that sensor solution fixes it, I will be very pleased.

Very good video my friend, i recently bought a G15 5530 and i would like to know how to detect if the "Intel Integrated Sensor Solution" is faulty. Temps on the CPU and GPU while stress testing are 100c and 80c respectively. I didn’t see any frame drops while gaming but CPU can really get hot (90c just using 50%) and most of the time i end up disabling Turbo Boost on ThrottleStop so CPU temps can stay cool. Any tips for lowering CPU temps?
You talked about i5 and 4050 version of the laptop. I am considering to buy i9 13900hx and 4070 version of G16 so performance issues oughtta be smoothened out. Would you recommend the laptop under those specs?
Weirdly, my Dell 7567 has slimmer and more portable charger than this tiny behemoth. Then again it is a 240W brick. Weird that for a bit company they can't invest in smaller chargers. Typical I suppose 🤷🏻♂️

That sounds like the motion sensor-related issue I run through at about 8:15 in this video - give the solution there a go and see if that solves your problem. Dell's firmware can be pretty flaky so it might be something else but I think that's most likely it.
