  • Two tactical masters, John Higgins and Mark Selby, face off in a hard-fought snooker match, playing the tactical game as the main element but without refusing to attempt dangerous counterattacks. This match was by far the most exciting of the tournament.
NOTE: Image quality is low for the first two minutes.
Don't miss the second-best shot of the match at 11:54. You will find the best one in the last moments of the game at 23:04
The statistics shown in the video correspond to the date of the match.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
The controversial 2010 Higgins meeting: Information for people who had no opportunity to investigate further:
    1. Mazher Mahmood, editor of the newspaper and 'gangster' in the video, was known for living performing similar traps (actors and other sports stars). In October 2016, he was jailed for a year for tampering with evidence involving a singer (a victim of his traps).
    2. The original video lasted 11 minutes, but they only showed 4 min.
The video has too many cuts, answers without questions and vice versa. Moreover, they didn't keep the dialogue structure despite being professional journalists who own the raw footage. They could have excluded the moments of fear and intimidation; perhaps they brought up the topic of foreign properties, making us believe that the idea was Higgins' initiative.
    3. Ian Mill KC* headed a second independent investigation―the first was led by David Douglas, former detective chief at Scotland Yard.―He had access to all original videos and audio tapes (as Douglas had). He textually concluded: "I have no doubt that the Association was right to conclude that this account by Mr Higgins was a truthful one."
His conclusion on Pat Mooney**: "he committed the most egregious betrayals of trust ".
Audiotapes revealed that Pat Mooney was aware of the 'bribery'. He told Higgins they were wealthy sponsors, and just before the meeting, he asked him to play along if the subject of match-fixing came up.
*Ian Mill KC is considered an authority in sports bribery cases in Formula 1, Football Premier League and Tennis ATP, among others. He headed the recent investigation on the ten Chinese snooker players.
**Pat Mooney, Higgins' manager in the video, was a member of the WPBSA board at that time.
    - Meeting: Friday, 30 April 2010.
    - Publishing: Sunday, 2 May 2010, 'coincidentally' during the final at the Crucible.
    - John Higgins at the time: 34 years old, married, two children, World N°1, reigning world champion, famous and millionaire (£5 million only in prize money―£450,000 in 2009).

Magnificent edition of a magnificent match. The dramatic intensity of the deciding frame is captured with brilliance. Cesar, my friend, you have a sense of narrative. You can go fast and you can take your time. First class video.

When Selby is playing well he's really good to watch, even if he's sometimes a bit negative. But when he's struggling, he's worse than anyone.
Another great video, really gives the taste of the match.

Higgins looks constipated when he's down on the shot. Lmao

    • @itnaklipse1669
      @itnaklipse1669 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Since it's unlikely he's constipated every time he's down on the shot, you might want to rethink what he'd look like if he's conspitated - if that's really what you want to think about.

UK has about 700 snooker clubs pre covid, we dominate the world, all commentators say that the amateur game is declining, in Shanghai alone they just opened their 1500th club alone, many many thousands elsewhere, the Chinese look at snooker as an aspirational sport, middle class love the game, lots of money, many tournaments, our current crop of champions might be our last, hopefully not, but maybe.

Higgins can win frame against ronnie even when he is down 60 and losing here with 57 lead this is fixing at its best how higgins started playing worse than amateur from all of the sudden.

Higgins sold the match. Quite obvious.

When you earn more money for losing game. This is 100 % fixed game how higgins suddenly starts playing worse than amateur players. I mean come on on one stage he was winning 10thframe with ease and deliberately misses brown. And then in 11th frame he had lead of 57 and then gives 18 points on very easy snooker. It’s obvious fixing.
