and kiryu looks like he got stung by bees in yakuza 6 and later games. akiyama had the worst treatment, guy looks like a wax doll. i don't know what rgg studio did to 3d models in dragon engine games but it made them look subtly worse.
@@yipperdeyip i was talking about the way dragon engine renders them, not their physical appearance. yeah we're all gay for akiyama me included, i'm not disputing that. shinada is my favourite though.
I always preferred the remake more, but I will always miss the atmosphere and attention to details (like at 6:46, no one can tell me that trees at the cementary supposed to look that green in december as k2 did, and someone even stole the clouds from the sky), and the little movie-like effects (like the nicer depth of field at 4:14), if you pay close attention you can discover many of these differrent scene effects, and many of them was even left out unfortunetly. And there's the characters' scene emotion delivery, that kiwami 2 never really captured that good either (for example, just compare Kiryu's facial expressions at 7:10-7:14, or in any other scene. The left side is delivering the line better with those facial, expressions, on the right side he just looks bored). And I don't wanna complain, like some hardcore fanboys, but I will always think that a remake shouldn't leave out anything, not even these small, but important details.
kiryus facial expressions in k2 just kind of appear blank compared to the ones in the orignal. And yeah it feels like some of the artistic design taken in the original was snipped out in favor of making it look purely realistic which hurt a lot of the original art style that tried to be realistic but also had to take some creative liberties to hide the fact that the hardware couldn't handle it. I still prefer K2 since the original's controls and UI have aged terribly, but if they ever made an original Y2 remaster with K2 controls and an updated HUD then I'd probably prefer it more.
@@i_am__majestx7746 Which is not the case here in the slightest, I played K2 before 2 and I can tell how much attention to detail was in the OG that was left out in the remake

@@liammax2360 I have zero issues with that. If anything l should thank you for playing the original and forming your own opinion for both the remake and the OG. That said Yakuza 2 is nothing like 1, it has such good combat that it rivals the series' best. Its a beast of its own

K2 is still better in every way, lets not act like just because they didn't include a couple of details that suddenly means that the original didn't age like milk.
I love both versions but it’s impressive to see how far things have come from ps2 to ps4

Love how they kept the cutscenes exactly the same 👌
Looks like they improved upon the expressions from Kiwami 1 a lot.
Way better. Now the OG expressions looked way less expressive than the other way around!
