Thank goodness for this video. The printer's own manual is next to useless in telling you how to do the job.
Thanks - glad it helped.
Since you mentioned stickers, I'd love to see a video dedicated to printing stickers. Such as which printers can do it, how the process goes etc. Just as an idea for a future video. No hard feelings if it won't happen.
Ah, the dreaded stickers...
People keep asking about this but I've genuinely no idea what they actually are or why people have such an interest in them?
Probably my age :-)
I've tried one sheet of 'sticker' paper and it didn't dry properly.
As it stands, unless someone sends me some media to test it's on the 'unlikely' list I'm afraid.
@@KeithCooper No problem.
The Epson ColorWorks series like the C4000e is used to make professional labels like the ones used on food packaging or wine bottles. Some make labels complying with standards for shipping toxic chemicals by sea that are supposed to withstand being immergée for 6 months, so very tough. Unfortunately the ink cleaning cycles on mine eat up more ink than actual printing so expensive to operate.
Another interesting printer is the Citizen CX-02S, which is a sticker-only variant of the CX-02 (aka DNP DS620A) for 4x6” or 8x6” dye-subbed stickers with lamination overcoat and very strong adhesive unlike most consumer printers like the little Canons.
@@fazalmajid6362my wallet would not be happy with this 😅
Very helpful! Thank you for the tutorial.
Glad it was helpful!
Thank you for these wonderful videos, I am loving this printer, although I find that I have a bit to learn to really use it well. I had a question on PVC media. I printed using your guide, but my ID card was disappointing due to blobs of ink making the bar code illegible, as well as photo. Do you have a recommended brand of PVC card that I could try? Thanks!
The one I got were unbranded from Amazon - just listed as 'inkjet compatible'
Good video Keith
Thanks
Hi Keith, thanks for this video the results look great! Can this be done with the ET-8550? Like you mentioned it only has the CD adaptor but I was hoping it was possible to buy the longer one to enable this?
Thanks - I don't think it is supported - but you'd need to ask Epson about this.
@@KeithCooper Cheers I'll reach out to them, have a feeling I'm going to be buying the 18100 though! 🙈
I've searched for a tray for ET-8550 and I don't think they exist.
Does it perform double sided card printing? Thanks. Good video.
Yes the software does, but you have to take the card out and turn it over
@@KeithCooper thanks keith
Thank you very much and much, sir. Your video is really helpful 👍
Thanks - glad it helped
Hello, you know if I can use that on et-8550 ???? Please 🥺🥺🥺
[edit] Ah - ID cards - no it's not supported AFAIK - the tray is different

Hi .. i would like to ask if the printed pvc card will not peel off once it swipe with isopropyl alcohol ? Thanks!
I've no idea - these are intended as temporary cards, not for long term use where physical wear is an issue
It seems a bit odd that the software printed a black outline on the test page despite the second card slot showing as blank.
No - there is no black outline - it's just a dotted line showing the frame.
Blame low quality video or watching it on a too small screen if you must ;-) :-)
I carry ID with me everywhere I go....it's called my face....looks just like me 😁
Yes - I sometimes get to deal with security droids who need extra verification...

thank You its Working
Excellent
Hello I can use this on Epson et8550
No, not supported I'm afraid
Hi , i love u video i have question where i can buy the tray holder ? Thanks
What tray holder? Do you mean the one used for the cards?
If so, it comes with the printer.
This is the only printer I've tested, where I've seen this option.
Any chance the Epson EcoTank 8550 can pull this off?
No - not supported [I asked]
@@KeithCooper thank you for the quick reply! Would be awesome to see someone make a custom adapter for the 8550. Maybe with a 3d printer or something
I don't know, but my suspicion is that the 8550 firmware doesn't have the size/position info for getting the ink onto where the cards would be.
An interesting idea though!@@bigbanger7548
Can pigment ink be used in l18050?
Probably, as long as you don't care about the warranty and are going to be making your own ICC printer profiles...
Also Epson L8050, A4 printer does the job
Thanks - the model numbers do vary in different regions
I did everything just okay but at the end the card comes out damp and the ink formed into droplets and it won't stick to the card even the next day I can easily wipe it off, can you help me with that?
Yep - wrong card type for the printer
Some cards, just like some papers simply won't work well with a particular ink set.
Nothing can be done other than get a different card material.
Have you found a solution to this?
Hello, what paper type of PVC card you using please? What is the name
Don't know I'm afraid - someone from Epson gave them to me - they had got them from Amazon
Some sorts don't dry properly. I don't know what brand this was - I just got 10 of them in a plastic bag...
These are the ones I printed
Note how it specifies they are for inkjet use

Hello you know if exist some one like that for Epson et8550? Please helpme
No, not supported I'm afraid
Where do I find the Epson Photo+ software?
Epson web sites - it was installed when I set up the printer
Go to Epson.sn for that
how many pvc cards we can print with the full ink?
Thousands I'd guess...
No idea though - that's purely a guess ;-)
can I do it with epson et 8550
No - not supported with that printer
@@KeithCooper thank you
How smear resistant is the ink on the dried card now?
It resists handling quite well - I just rubbed the one printed in the video with my thumb and it was properly dry - no marks.
Still not sure it would take a lot of actual handling, but the double sided one may well move to a spare slot in my card wallet, for longer term testing ;-)
Yes, I don't think they are meant for heavy duty use...
Do I need special ink or the will the ink that comes with the printer be ok ?
@@sgtvdave The ink is fine if you get the right type of cards. Someone else asked me about the ink not drying for them - simply because they were using incompatible cards.
@@KeithCooper thank you for the reply could you help on which cards I need to buy please 🙏🏼
How do I find the software
It's installed when you set up the printer...
I tried to print once and it never printed in pvc again
The key is always finding the right media - these cards worked just fine
