  • Why did I buy on Camposol and not any where else in Spain.
I’ve always wanted to move to Spain many years ago and have visited most parts of Spain but Camposol became my home. I’ve been living here for over 6 years, and still love it here.

Interesting reflection Shaun, thanks for sharing. The story is consistent pretty much everywhere except for the infamous homes from hell you mention. That was extremely sad for those affected, but not it would seem to be a representation of the majority of owners experience on Camposol. I am so glad to see people happy with their choices. Keep living the dream mate. 👍

    •  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

Thank you Kev, yes still living the dream here - unfortunately there are other places around Spain similar to Camposol but only minor. Many thanks for watching and the support :)

Great insight Sean. We bought a property on Condado last year and a big part of that was due to your videos of the area and things to do. A few years before we can retire there but looking forward to that day. Cheers Barry

Hi Shaun. Im looking to move to Camposol as a single man in my late 50s ... Im a little worried about making friends etc and don't want to be isolated but its definitely the price of property that appeals!

    •  2 ปีที่แล้ว

Hi Richard, I've made more friends here than I ever did in the UK, there are lots of groups to get involved in on Camposol and I run one called Camposol Explorers but first you need to see Camposol before you decide. Many thanks for watching :)

I bought in 2013 out here in Spain. I was shown properties on Campasol but the sector C and D appeared to have major subsidence issues, the houses were full of cracks and appeared to be gradually sliding into the ravine in the middle of the urbanisation. The property of prices in Campasol are reflective of the troubles of the urbanisation. Sector's A and B properties are stable. Yes, you can buy a lot on Campasol for your money but I would avoid it personally. I bought on a Golf Resort about 30km away on stable ground with land guarantees. Be careful when buying in Spain. Murcia, as a region, is a lovely area. Mazarron and Campasol are quite remote and far away from the main cities in the region.

Went to the Mirador del embalse de Algeciras the other day and got the drone up for some nice footage. We live nearer the city, all our neighbours are Spanish, just couldn't see us living in Camposol. PS it's pronounced Matharrón 👍

Videos like this are invaluable to me. I'm very thankful for your contribution sir. I'm looking for a region to retire to in about 5 years. I'm from Belgium, my aim is to live somewhere where I can live, get around and feel welcome without knowing Spanish (my English is OK). That is, in the beginning, as I would learn Spanish as soon as possible, it's the right thing to do when you're settling there. As I see it now, I may buy a small, cheap little house in the near future, so I could get an idea of what living in the area feels like. In the winter as well as in the summer. Plus, I would have a base from which to explore the region, before I'd decide to buy a permanent home there. And already have a place to live when I'm ready to sell my house here in Belgium. What I'd do with the 'small' house after I bought a permanent place is something I can decide on in the future. I've watched some 'walking through Camposol' videos on TH-cam, and I have to be honest, the urbanization looks a little rundown in some areas (rusted gates, cracked walls, damaged sidewalks...). But that doesn't mean it's not a "happy place". It's the people living there that make it a nice or bad place to live. I certainly would be interested in visiting the place and the region, it's on my short list. Thanks again.

    •  ปีที่แล้ว

Thank you and sorry for the delay as TH-cam have only just sent this message. Always good to rent first, if possible and check out the area and where you want to live and if you like it, buy. I'm glad my videos are helpful, there are quite a few Belgiums living here. Wish you luck in your new adventure.

This is very nice. But, the process of living out there seems very complex. I would love to find a book or something that givesa method of creating a plan in a simple 1 2 3 checkbox task plan.

    •  ปีที่แล้ว +1

Hi, very true, except with a book it would be very general and cover the whole of Spain but each region has it own way of dealing with things to do with moving to Spain. It’s an area I’m considering simply because of property prices but I’m only 43 and it will be a holiday home with a view to sell in 20yrs or so before buying something for permanent residence. Have any insight into how property has performed over there in terms of value and longer term investment?

    •  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

Hi, many thanks for your question but anything to do with investment and performance, I'm not the guy to ask. All I can say is since living here prices have stayed the same and not dropped in value. Many thanks for watching.

    •  ปีที่แล้ว

Hi Kaylee, just seen your comment, best to check out the area yourself as it's in some of the streets, Google Streets will be a great great aid while researching. You can have holiday homes on Camposol and there are no community fees, just a yearly council tax which will depend on the size of plot you buy. Many thanks for watching :)

Living costs will depend on your lifestyle, home, car, eating out and so on but if you watch my videos on where I live it’s just short of 2,000 pounds a month to live on and enjoy life.
