Wow, some great vibes and atmosphere here showing your novel experiences, tube rides, sightseeing etc. Your enthusiasm shines through and brings back so many early magical memories of visits to London. All new and rare experiences when one lives up north and travels to the big city. Thanks for sharing your adventure. Great stuff.👏
Watching your vlog as can't sleep. We live in Kent so come up to London quite a lot and are used to the underground but can see how daunting it can be if you are not used to get. Glad you mentioned the scamme4s on the bridge so many people are taken in. Found it funny your reaction to the size of Heathrow, prior to covid we had only used Heathrow a few times and found it quite daunting but now it doesn't faze us.With regards to getting from the airport the Elizabeth line doesn't take that much longer and also cheaper.
And the Tower of London is the most historic place in the world for me, we have seen the pyramids, the spynx you name it, but the tower is for me, the best in the world, we have been 3 times and we could go every day and STILL find something new to look at 🥰
Highly recommend the sky garden in the walkie talkie building, free to enter but amazing views over the city and a stunning bar and restaurant at the top! Amazing day or night!
Absolutely love London, there is a pub called the Marquis on Chandos place just over the road from Charing cross station, and they have nearly every record ever recorded on vinyl, and they will play whatever you request I got threw out for asking for there's no one quite like grandma 😂😜
Unless you are travelling for business, and are therefore able to put the cost of the ticket on expenses, avoid the Heathrow Express. The Elizabeth Line is more frequent, and half the price. And stops at more Central London stations
Hi guys, poor Laura at the start she looked wrecked and cold bless her😂wow the airport was busy but good you find that quiter part upstairs,I've gotta say I don't do crowds and the train station freaked me out just on TV let alone being there😬the boat trip looked really good and the architecture is amazing, glad you had a great time guys🙂👍
Aww you are a lovely couple great blog we stay in bayswater a lot great location,❤❤ great high street shops close by and lovely old pubs the Duke of Wellington was a lovely pub food good as well xxxxx❤❤
It was a very good travel day blog today of you chilling out and waiting to boarding your plane to Heathrow Airport from Manchester Airport with British airways , chilling out on the Heathrow express to London Paddington to Exploring Westminster abbey on your London waking tour , it is cheaper buying a Oster card when you visit London on holiday andrew and Laura
A very informative vlog Andrew and Laura. There is a rail air link bus between Heathrow bus station and Reading. You could have got one of those buses and left your bags with your hotel reception, then taken a return journey on GWR to Paddington return. It would have worked out much cheaper than Heathrow Express. You could check in on your return. Victoria gardens between Lambeth Bridge and Westminster are where the queue to get into Westminster Hall for The Queen’s lying in state, snaked around in a zig zag. As someone who has worked in London for so many years, I found that walking around London is best!
I practically lived in London with my job at one point..but if you want a fun day out on the Thames I highly recommend the Rocket of the Thames speed boat tour good fun 👍
It’s a lot cheaper just scanning your contactless card when you enter/exit the stations. As it then works out your journey and your not paying for zones that you won’t travel in.
Really enjoyed this! I actually researched the Tube and how to get around London before our trip. So I purchased an Oyster Card online and had it mailed to us in Florida before we left. I just wanted to make sure we had it incase we arrived and needed it right away. It worked out great and I still had 12 pounds on my card for next time. 😊
Thoroughly enjoyed that - great to see you enjoying yourselves 😃. Not sure about 'green witch' (Greenwich), you said you were colourblind (like me) 😁. More please 😃👍
Why buy a travelcard, just tap in and tap out with ond of your debit or credit cards, it’s the same cost as an Oyster card and also with a max charge per day and probably cheaper and much easier than a travelcard
I was going to comment and say use your card and tap in and out, just have to make sure you use the same card each time and don’t use the same one as another person if it’s a joint account! You can get a transport for London app which tells you where to go and which lines etc which is useful if you are ever there again!
I’m flying London to Manchester return at then end of the month for work (little visit to Liverpool on my day off before my return flight home the next day)…. Impressed with the 35 minute flight time…
For me it would be to jump on one of the water buses from Westminster pier down to Greenwich and the dome. You can do the TFL one where you just tap in and out like the underground.
The sitting area you were in at Manchester airport, until fairly recently, used to be the British Airways lounge for business class passengers etc. BA closed this (probably using the pandemic as an excuse) and others in the UK as they focus on their London base. They do use the escape lounge which is arguably inferior. Mind you Manchester airport is rarely a pleasure!
@@peterbalding1470 confused as Wikipedia states: Big Ben is the nickname for the Great Bell of the Great Clock of Westminster,[1][2] at the north end of the Palace of Westminster in London, England,[3] and the name is frequently extended to refer also to the clock and the clock tower.[4] The official name of the tower in which Big Ben is located was originally the Clock Tower, but it was renamed Elizabeth Tower in 2012 to mark the Diamond Jubilee of Elizabeth II.

If your buying souvenirs I found a kiosk at Kings Cross station, they have the best prices in London.
Unless you are travelling for business, and are therefore able to put the cost of the ticket on expenses, avoid the Heathrow Express. The Elizabeth Line is more frequent, and half the price. And stops at more Central London stations

Did you go in Westminster Abbey..? Maybe it’s getting ready for the coronation ?
Yep tap in and out with debit card or phone.
Automatically caps once 3 journeys made.

Isn’t Big Ben the bell that’s inside Westminster tower??
St Stephens tower

;)

Maybe I live in a London bubble but it’s weird to me the rest of country don’t just use the tap in and tap out system, so simple 😅
