In this video Dante Leon talks about the importance of having good cardio but also knowing how to pace yourself in long and shorter matches.
Dante explains how there is different pacing needed for different rule sets and tournaments and you will have to adjust accordingly.
At some point every Jiujitsu athlete who has made it to the top has gassed in their career. But they come back and learn how to pace themselves better next time. Dante say's that you can have the best cardio in the world but if you don't pace yourself correctly in a 10 minute match you will burn yourself out quick.
Some people have not too good cardio but know how to pace themselves and make their opponent tired.
Dante has competed at the highest level against the very best grapplers in the world such as Vagner Rocha, Craig Jones, Cyborg, PJ Parch, Nicky Ryan, Tye Ruotolo, Mica Galvao, Tommy Langaker, Josh Hinger, Keenan Cornelius, Garry Tonon, Lucas Lepri, Davi Ramos, Oliver Taza, William Tackett, Roberto Jimenez and many more.

Pace > Cardio. A valuable lesson from a wise man.

Pacing is so important. It’s true you can have the best cardio possible but if you don’t pace yourself you will burn out.

I think a lot of people think cardio and stamina is a same thing. It's not. You can get very good stamina by making yourself physically stronger, and then using that strength in a way that it does not run out fast. Like Bruce Lee said back then "Be the water", but you should be strong in order to be good water... otherwise you are swimming upstream.

Thanks bro. Unfortunately not. Flo grappling had all the video rights last year and did not allow outside videographers

@@stuartcooperfilms That’s a damn shame. All that money and all those rights, and they still can’t produce a highlight video like you can. Keep up the great work! Cheers!
