    I had a pivot ball Hyper back in 2002. They had the Chub version, the PBS which had pivot ball front and rear, then the PCR version with pivot ball up front and c-hub rear. They also had the Yannick chassis car which was the World's top qualifier.

    I recently bought the VS2e roller, for use at race events here in the UK. Very impressed with it so far! It was easily rubbing shoulders with the typical race brands at an eBuggy event last month. Was not surprised to see the reactions from numerous members of the Brand Snobbery Brigade at the track, wondering why a Hobao would be there, but was nice to hear some folk afterwards saying how well it ran amongst others on the track. Problem is not many people consider Hobao to be a track-orientated RC, seems to be somewhat of an unknown and they fly under the radar which is a shame. I own several now and they're all suited to the track. I've made a few changes to it here n there, lengthening the wheelbase which helped stability and moved the front upper arms forwards to lessen the castor angle a bit, helping it steer much better, and of course wheels n tyres to suit what track surface it runs on. Diff oils; I went for 10k cst up front, 30k cst centre, and 7k cst in the rear, it seems to behave itself on the track. Fitted a VP Pro wing too, flies much better now! I also still have my old Hyper 7 PBS from many years ago (which I converted from nitro to brushless), that particular Hyper 7 came with pivot ball suspension, and spider centre diff.

    Alot of cars have slightly "outlaw" fuel systems. Most pros use epoxy to fill their tanks. And you can get a non-pullstart back plate and use a starter box...

    I know that this buggy is considered mostly as a basher. That being said, would it be fun on a track? I don’t race competitively but I mostly run at my local track. How does it fly? I’m looking for an RTR that would be fun on the track and not wanting to have to upgrade it too much to make it somewhat durable. I really like the Serpent RTR, but parts available seems to be somewhat questionable. And the Kyosho RTR I’m not interested in, way to much upgrading on that one.

    I had one but converted it to electric. Also hated the pull starter. But very good quality and I still have and use this buggy as electric now. Parts I buy from England or the Hobao eshop. But I have almost not broken anything, just order parts if you break something. I changed the servos and check the servo saver if it need to be more tight. For nitro buggy I now have an old HPI Trophy Buggy with a 4.6/2.8 and electric rotostarter, love that for nitro bashing. 👍No more pull starter 🙂

      Haha, I saw your first run where you were pulling on the cord! The trophy is great too, fun little buggy. I turned mine into a nitro short course.

    I agree with you about Durability, this Taiwanese brand are indeed Durability on their RC parts on the car. And VS design had improved. Their old VS1 and VS2 body are totally different 🙂

    Do you still think the Neo 3.0 is the best bang for buck buggy you have tested, how much better would you say the MP9 was over the Neo 3.0 & is it worth spending the extra on the MP9 ? Also what order would you rate overall between the Neo 3.0, MP9 & the Serpent.

    • @RazorRC
      @RazorRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      Not sure which is the best, they’re all good, but yes I think the NEO 3.0 is the best deal.

    You forgot to mention the Hobao uses hex screws on the chassis, compared to Phillip screws on the Kyosho

    Was checking and it seems like its the same engine as the Hobao Hyper VT Nitro on road car that comes with the 2 speed transmission. Do you think this can also be fitted to the hyper VS2 for better top speed? Just ordered one btw based on your review, thanks for that 😀👍

      @@GregSupe ye man, or the 30 seems plenty quick enough for a speed run car.

    That's a basher, bit like the tt s3 .28pro. Very very cool cars and engines, proper fast, I run a vs1 pro with a turbo plug 8 port, it stops traffic put it that way 😂 everyone watches when I'm bashing that, it's more race orientated, but they make sublime bashers, and talk about tough!! I think hobao knocked it out the park with the vs range. Excellent at drifting, in fact I have vids on my channel of me doing it, awesome fun every time. I put my own T bar handle on my model, much easier, top vid, and the one where you drive it to, you only used 3/4 power before hitting brakes, sublime 👌 (my vids suck btw, I only do it as a hobby) 👍✌️
    Those wheels 😍

    How about the fuel mileage?With an engine close in size to the old 8.0 mgt's that were so thirsty most people added a second tank and fuel costing a lot more I would think thats a consideration of interest?

    • @RazorRC
      @RazorRC  ปีที่แล้ว

      Good point, I should’ve mentioned fuel mileage. It’s very thirsty, as you might expect from a .30!

    Hyper ss 6s by any chance?

  • @johnnyjackson4490
    @johnnyjackson4490 ปีที่แล้ว

    The hyper ss is better, and only cost $400 .I have it and it's pretty much a upgraded hyper 7.

    • @LawrenceTimme
      @LawrenceTimme ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Nah the hyper ss is a cheaper hyper 7, not upgraded. The hyper 7 was a race buggy. They are much much stronger than hyper ss.
