I have to echo the words of a lot of young people I see on TH-cam about today's music. Most of what I've heard, which isn't a lot, is just plain terrible. It makes me appreciate what I came up with, that much more. The younger generation is brilliant in so many ways, but they've lost their way in so many ways, esp. when comes to class and morality...very limited boundaries anymore.
I think this is a bit unfair with some hyperbole. Because people always remember the best parts of their childhood, and stuff they didn't like or care for sort of gets lost with time. In EVERY generation you will see the vast majority thinking whatever was around at their time as being the best ever. And that the generation after them isn't as good. So I think we need to be a bit careful running off of those assumptions because there was plenty of trash music that was popular in my time. I grew up on the last 90's early 2000's. There was a lot of hits, but just as many horrid songs that I never understood why they were so popular.
Also, I think there is more high quality or good music today compared to any other time. While having instant access to all of that music. Now don't get me wrong, there is a lot of bad music today, but there is bad music in every generation, but like I said time only remembers the good ones. If you aren't a high school or college kid then this music isn't for you anyways. lol I just think the older you get the less music you have to connect with, because a lot of music is written to young people. Especially online. But there is PLENTY of great, mature, or just high quality music today, probably more than ever. It's just not as simple as turning on your radio, like it used to be, you have to put in a bit of effort to find it. But its there.
