Just started learning this. It's really tough to start out. Few things I've learned. If your gonna use mechs to shread(scrap) early game you don't really need loads of card draw maybe a few cutters. You can ignore deck sheading early game by going card draw an grabbing a recycle station latter on. If you shread with bots then later in the game the yellow imperial cards will hurt you more late game forcing you to discard good cards. In away drawing more cards is a better strategy for this reason. Trimming your deck sometimes works well but other times falls flat. The cards/stations which you can scrap to deal damage are essential late game. Make sure you pick these up. Grabbing the blue realms and imperial Yaghts is a good plan. Don't miss the Command Ship. You will regret it. If your opponent has better money supply blow it up rather than let him have it.
Early on, I felt like I was wasting money NOT purchasing something. (Probably an old habit from StarCraft) I have been guilty of finishing a match with a fairly large deck (and typically losing as a result).
There are no special buttons. If you want to scrap a card from the trade row you will need to get a card that says that. Typically you'll find the Blob faction (green) has those types of cards. Let me know if that answers your question or not. :)
