No no people we are loosing big time our Culture. Not impress. When i was a kid, I still remember the big long or high Drums and the uniforms, the discipline and it was not for entertainiment purpose. Every Village Gouro has his own Zahouli and the best of them use to come for some National Event. Around the crowd was religiously quiet you could notice the power of the spirits and suddenly there was the moment of applauses and waow. Still got chill in my body.One day i was ask what do you want to be when you grow up? a Zahouli dancer. Straight up.

Nowadays you could see some of the musicians with The real Madrid or Barca shirt and anybody who can jump and move his feet is a Zahouli dancer. I can't stand that. Maybe I'm getting old. But this was some of the best time of my childhood.
Dear Mr.Zab...,unfortunately traditions fade away all over the planet,but watching Zahouli dancers makes me wonder how far they are beyond the physical borderline.Unbelievable speed,accurate figures,the interaction with the musicians and endurance make me wonder how much sweat it takes to get to that point.I ve been watching the vids for long and can t get enough of them....

Growing up I was afraid of most of the mask but Zahouli was the beauty. We use to try to dance like that long before a guy call Michael Jackson did the moonwalk.The sad think is a lot of other traditional dance have disappeared.

The endurance necessary to watch in the blazing heat is nothing compared to that needed for all the wonderful performers. I love how they dance to the faster wind instruments when most dances would be to the slower drums, not that they are in any way slow. I also love how the dancer conducts everything during the performance. Pure talent. Makes me wonder if they could win AGT or BGT.

Yes very hot and unbearable for some people if they tried it I would think, I wonder how they can get enough air ? as there is only 2 small narrow slits for the eyes but no holes for nose or mouth in some of the masks I've seen.. What talented amazing dancers !
