    Currently I live in the south and as a single bloke I'm planning to move up to Manchester by the time the new stadium is finished. I'd love to live in the new rejuvenated area of old Trafford if I can afford it. Obviously, I'd want to be a season ticket holder by then. I'm guessing loads more season tickets will become available if we have 25k more seats but even if I have to buy an executive season ticket for a couple years first then that's what I will do. I'm really looking forward to living in Manchester and I can't wait for them to start the new stadium.

    • @d.b.cooper1
      @d.b.cooper1 12 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      lol not being funny mate but manchester is largely unaffordable now for locals, cause everyone from the south has been moving up here for the past 10 years cause to them it's 'dirt cheap' lol. lot of those 25k seats will be hospitality & there's already a huge list, you can't just walk up & get one. don't move here just for a football team pal, it won't bring the happiness you think it will

    If we don’t get someone like rabiot who can play 6 or 8 but mostly 8 we will burn out mainoo and the chances of him getting injured go through the roof if that happens. Also top 4 will not happen with only mainoo at 8 he is too young and needs time to grow into a 50+ game a year player

  • @TimothyCutajar
    @TimothyCutajar 11 วันที่ผ่านมา

    Please, anyone reading bare with me as this is not easy to explain. So apparently at the moment the most likely option is that a new 100,000 seater stadium will be built right next to Old Trafford and the current old trafford will be downsized to a 30,000 seater stadium and will be used for the academy and the women's team.
    The main downside to this plan to me is that we'll have to move away and relocate and our senior squad will no longer play on the same pitch location that gods like Best, Law, Charlton, Robson and Cantona played in. The main reason it seems pretty difficult to retain the same pitch location seems to be that we'll need to find another stadium where we can play our games whilst Old Trafford is knocked down and rebuilt on the same location.
    What I don't get is why is it not possible to build a 60k seater stadium next to Old Trafford for Man United to play their games whilst the current Old Trafford is demolished and rebuilt. This stadium just like the Lusail stadium im qatar (which will be downsized from 88k to 40k) will then be downsized to 20-30k and will be used for the women's team and the academy and the men's senior team will play in the new 100,000+ seater stadium on the same pitch location that the gods I mentioned earlier played in.

    United needs a new stadium with style, royalty, and personality! It easily needs to be over 100k capacity, anywhere from 100-150 even would likely sell out, with 125 being more reasonable target. However, you cannot build a ‘box-style’ stadium such as Met Life stadium, So-Fi Stadium, and other American style complexes. ‘New Trafford’ needs the personality and character the modernized Camp Nou and Santiago Buernabau have. There can be a lot done with the the community around the development, building top notch amenities, business conference centres, restaurants and entertainment districts, as well as residential spaces around a lively stadium. This could continue generating money in concerts, tournaments coming to Manchester, and added appeal of the city.

    • @d.b.cooper1
      @d.b.cooper1 12 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      I don't see how you keep it beyond nostalgia. It's a tight squeeze having 2 stadiums, it already is for those walking from the east stand to the stretford end. OT is rotting & unsafe, that'll cost millions a year to maintain for no reason along with insurance costs. In 20-40 years we'll have to dismantle it anyway or spend £500m making it safe. Pointless keeping it. Get rid & make an open wide area with developments on the sides/train station on the left with few multi storey car parks people can use on matchday & every other day of the week for retail space etc. Much better use of valuable land.

    Build a new stadium , 100,000 seater

    Come on Jay. Do you really think they're gonna build affordable housing for the masses on that land? It's gonna be retail with expensive flats on top. Even when they do in London the definition of affordable is like 10% of flats with rest being for rich overseas/local investors to rent out. Even those sold have insane leasehold fees/facility charges. Also if they don't knock down current OT...where tf are these new developments gonna be??We're very lucky to have land for a new stadium next to us, which few clubs globally have, but once it's built it's gonna be a tight squeeze if you don't knock OT down. These developments are just gonna be a new train station with govt money. I read the full press release, load of mumbo jumbo corporate pr words. Sounds like we're just leeching off government funds for wider regendetation of the area that isn't even on our land. The expansion of media city over the canel/bridge to wharfside was always gonna happen anyway. Forgive me, but I'm not in favour using taxpayer funds to partly fund investments of 6 yanks & a monaco billionaire, making them richer. Even the Americans have finally grown a pair & stopped using public funds to build stadiums for billionaires. If they go ahead there needs to be a clear breakdown of costs/where taxpayer funds are going. How about if the mayor/govt expanded transport links to improve traffic? Made easier connections to greater manchester where there's cheaper housing/more land for new houses? These inner city developments end up going to students, airbnbs, hotels, retail or people moving from the south priced out of London so they buy/rent up here. It never helps locals directly. Say what you want about City but at least it was & still lis a proper working class area even with the gentricfation. At least locals who owned homes benefitted from higher house values/transport links. Places like this are built with gentrifcation already priced in. How many folks born & raised do you know of who live in media city?

      Question to you whoa the mayor of Manchester ans whay party does he associate with? Additionally sjr which party did he fund? If you correlate it together it shows that dirty tactics has been used whereby like yoi said taxpayer money will go towards the redevelopment however why is that currently beinf discussed and potentially get clearance When you uk os on massive Turmoil and people are debt ridden and gas electricity flying up cost of living is a shambles yet they can fork out millions if not billions on unnesscary things that least requirement.

      Not really how it works, unless ya getting them a job on a construction site which is what most the jobs consist of in those stats they always show off. Most redevelopment isn't even on our land & is like 10 year+ down the line. Nice idea, but not realistic. The land is built on by private developers, they sell to investors who then rent out to private industry tenants. Nothing to do with us even if it was on our land. You can't make private companies hire people.

      We don’t need a new stadium rn we saw how that impacted teams like arsenal and Tottenham when they couldn’t buy players, we aren’t in a position to finance a new stadium when the first 11 needs major work especially since is unlikely sjr will pay for this so more debt than we already have
