@@mitchellmillimaki01 I trust neither Tomlin nor Arthur Smith to have the capacity to see talent at that position. This is why they kept going back to Trubisky: they couldn't see what was wrong with him.
As for everything else, while I know it's not sexy, most of what went wrong for Fields was on the coaches. He even took the extreme potentially career-ending route of calling them out, publicly. Twice. Unfortunately, he did not get the support QBs like Kenny Pickett, Trevor Lawrence & Zach Wilson got automatically.
      For some reason...

As a Chicago Bears fan since I was 7 in 1977, I sure hope that this kid is as good as the “experts” seem to believe he is. We won’t know a thing until he starts taking some snaps in the NFL. 🤷🏻‍♂️
Fields or Williams, you had a question-mark at QB going into the 2024 season & it came down to time, money, and Fields bad performance in the 4th-quarter … where he was the worst in football. 🤷🏻‍♂️ sorry.
Here’s to hoping Fields finds success with the change of scenery & becomes the QB many of us hoped he could be.

Well does anyone remember how Greg Roman turned the MVP-calibre QB who threw 36 TDs to only 6 INTs into a pedestrian 16 (less than half) to 13 (more than double) in only two years? Fields made the Bears the #1 offense in the NFL 3 weeks straight _BEFORE_ they acquired D.J. Moore. & now everyone thinks he's a bust because of his own coaches.
Who he publicly called out _twice_ but he never got fan support. & while I don't think that Eberflus (who makes it Very Clear that he meddles in the offense) will call the *same plays* that they called for Fields, the problem with micro-managers are that they consider it Personally Offensive to be asked to stay out of anything they want to interfere with.
& I don't think Eberflus knows _how_ to call winning plays. Just because he *intended* to tank Fields to have an excuse to move on from him doesn't mean he knows how to call good plays too. So it'll be interesting because, & again, this is how micro-managers think, the First Time Caleb makes a great play but does so by _not following_ the play laid out for him _BY_ Eberflus, what's Matty gonna do? Not accept this, that's for sure.
So things could get Quite Interesting.

I think it depends where he goes. Let’s be honest. It’s all hypothetical most of the time. Unless it’s a leaf or Russell/manziel with poor work ethic etc it’s mostly where the team have weapons/oline/OCs working with them. Look at darnold to the jets, good qb but neeeded a situation where he was sitting behind a QB to learn the next level.

He has very poor footwork. All his "gifts" won't translate to the NFL. This is crazy we are talking about him like this.
I am old enough to remember when "everyone" said that Sam Darnold was a "can't miss prospect".😅😅😅😅😅
Also that Lamar should be a receiver, Josh Allen was to raw, and Baker was to short to play in the NFL... And finally Josh Rosen if he can stay healthy is another "can't miss prospect" 😮😮😮😮😮😂

Listen, the kid has incredible skills. But skills alone do not make players generational. We've seen his skills. Kyler, Johnny Football, Bryce Young.
What makes a player generational (along with skill) is decision making and leadership. Which is different at the pro level.

Great talent for sure. However there have been examples of him being weak mentally. Also he last season displayed a lack of ability to deal with losing. Curling up in his moms arms. As a grown adult is not a good look. Which will happen in the NFL losing. Also all that running around wont work in the NFL like it did in college. He didnt play against elite defenses either. He always had explosive weapons to throw too. Bears right now dont have to much to throw too. Plus the cold is different than playing in Oklahoma and USC.

You can’t forecast generational. He has some interesting skills. He won a heisman. Let’s wait until he plays in nfl a couple years. Hopefully it won’t be for the bears. They will ruin each other. The bears screwed Justin and for 3 years straight poles never got him an offensive line. That’s bs. So he lied about putting talent around him. He lied again about doing right by him. Sent him to Steelers to sit on bench, when they had offer from falcons to be a starter. See poles didn’t want people to see Justin succeed elsewhere to show how crappy of a gm that poles has been. Poles is a massive liar. Does not do right by his players. Screwed many now x players. Poles just didn’t want Justin bc it wasn’t his choice. He’s gonna let his ego get in the way, and select Caleb. We will see how it turns out.
