Your LUTs look sweet, Teppo 🤘🏼 Can I make a suggestion about the transform process? Applying the input LUT via the 'custom LUT' effect is a better option than the 'camera LUT' drop down menu in the info inspector. This way, you can add layers before the input LUT to fix exposure issues or color balance issues. By using the 'camera LUT' drop down menu, it's preventing you from doing that. Just food for thought. It's crazy how good that footage looks! Do you have to record to an SSD no matter the frame rate? Or is it only required for 60p? Also, is there any special formatting of the SSD you had to do to connect it to your iPhone? Thanks for the great content as always, man.
Only required for 60fps, but with black magic camera app u can actually film without SSD

Please just a quick question… After shooting in ProRes log, once editing is done. What format should I export my video to still maintain the quality?
If we have lots of clips in the timeline, and don't want to repeat the process for every clip, we can use an adjustment layer and then add the color profile onto all clips? or would that have to be manual and the adjustment layer only applies to Luts and color wheel? Thanks for your video.
I haven't found a workaround to add the Apple LOG LUT from Final Cut Pro directly onto an adjustment layer. You could obviously do that with my SLOG3 conversion LUT.
Is there a player for macos which allows to apply lut to view apple log videos with the lut applied?

I would totally get the LUT's but I really wish it took something like Davinci Wide Gamut or ACEScct as the input, I don't want a LUT to do the technical conversion from Apple Log to Rec709. I want to apply color management, and then apply creative looks on top of that accurate footage.
Just do the color management and then apply grading luts after. No problemo!
I still love the look of a full frame camera. That said, it's pretty impressive what phone cameras can do these days and they have even more use now that iPhones have LOG.

I had a quick question, when I film on log mode and have an SSD connected I notice that when I try to play it back on my phone or when I transfer it to my MacBook, the video is very glitchy, as if it hasn’t loaded. There might be a simple solution or thing that I’m missing perhaps? I have a Sandisk Extreme Pro connected to it.
Its probably just the ssd drive is too slow. Transfer the footage to watch on your computer and you should be fine!

Capcut can use LUTS so yes!

Yep VN editor app, lumafusion, they allow using LUTS and have tools for grading

I bought the same ssd drive, attached an encased MagSafe sticker to it, and boom - that sucker securely stays on the back of the phone … no movement at all. Add a 13 - 15cm usb-c cable capable of 3.1+ speeds and you’re done.

@@TeppoHaapoja The other advantage to this sln is it’s MagSafe case friendly… I bought an otterbox MagSafe case (my case of choice) and I’m still good to go…
/Unrelated - have you tried the BlackMagic camera app, where you can film to H.265 in log format? For many people, in most lighting conditions, I challenge you to see the difference in quality except while pixel peeping … and file sizes are stupidly tiny.

It is scary how good cameras on phones have become. Like it now has LOG(!) which is crazy to think about. I would definitely mistake the shots from the phone for a real camera. My guess in a couple of years models, the camera will be so good that you don't need a big camera like the A7S III anymore. The big plus with real cameras is of course the sensor and lenses, but for a tiny phone, this is insane! 🙂

You won’t regret the annual plan my friend, dont worry!
You shouldn’t use the lut embedded like that, you should use custom lut and add it that way. If you do it the way you showed adding the Apple LUT in the information section, it will not let you pull the most out of your dynamic range. It’s basically the same concept that you were explaining about putting the color wheels above the custom lut.
Do you know how to find Apple Log in the custom LUT? I wasn’t able to, I figured this was the case.
I just use Tyler Stalmans free one. But I would imagine you can find the cube file for apples inside the fcp files. I’ll look tomorrow. ( I’m already in bed now 😂😂)
