She wasn’t sick…she uses vocal fry like no one else. Her range is a solid 4+ octaves. If you listen again you will hear her hit a couple of low notes, but they are sneaky because she fits them in so smoothly that you may not notice them. She will be a singer that will be a historical figure if she continues her career. She is an artist, author, lyricist, composer and performer. Absolutely one of the most talented people on earth (if she isn’t an alien😂). Enjoy the ride.

@@mrstlu4838 How wide her observed vocal range is really depends on what you want to count. The highest-pitch vocalization we've ever heard from her was a scream on a roller coaster when she was 10, but obviously that shouldn't be counted. (I really don't know what "note" that corresponded to, but my best guess is a G♯7.) Her highest vocalization while singing a song was a kind of a "screech" at perhaps a G♯6 in "I Put a Spell on You" at age 9. Her highest belted note is, I'm pretty sure, still an F♯5 in her original cover of "I Have Nothing" posted when she was 13. Her highest "pure-tone" falsetto used to be the top note in this song ("Unchained Melody"), at a G5, first sung at 9, but I'm pretty sure it is now a C6 (or very close to that, anyway) in "Love on the Brain" at 16. (Admittedly, I haven't really kept on top of her highest and lowest notes for a couple of years now, so I might be missing something.) Her lowest note is, I believe, still around a C3 (and actually, a bit lower than that, I think - but not as low as a B2, the next note down) in "How Great Thou Art" at 12. So, if you use C3 to C6, and don't count the screeched G♯6, then her observed singing range would be 3 octaves. If you count the screech, then just over 3½ octaves.

This subdued performance was because the children of Nargis Mohammedi were in the audience whose mother was in jail on hunger strike after being whipped. To hear her power and belt, when she is not portraying the longing on the edge of tears watch the Vegas clips within ANGELINA JORDAN 10 YEARS IN THE MAKING. She is a Diva but one whose ego is not in charge. She will not give you a powerhouse performance if the artist in her wants to portray fragility and longing.

She kept this subtle due to the somberness of the occasion.
Belting would have focused on her and not the occasion. Very humble.

Angelina Jordan an artist that no one song represents. The most predictably unpredictably brilliant artist you will ever find. She has complete control over the colour tone texture dynamics and of her vibrato. Stylistically she treats her voice as an instrument to best convey the emotions of a song. So it may surprise you she is frequently compared to Adele or Amy Winehouse. She never allows ego to decide her choices. Though she can run for days, her runs are usually spare and elegant choices. She is called the Angel with a hundred voices by some. But that makes her sound like a mimic which she is not , her voice is always instantly recognisable whatever vocal characteristics she flexes. To this day after 9 years of listening to everything she put out for over 10 years I still cannot work out how she did it. Her EP last year at 17 years of age was a delightful surprise to her fans. Despite the fact that's about the only thing you could predict. Brilliant surprises.

But then i remembered whom she was singing for, a woman that got the prize for her fighting for woman rights in Iran, she was jailed for her struggle, and she misses her family, husband and children. And then it made perfect sence.Angelina is a person whith many voice, she can sing in every one of them, and adjust her voice after what is appropiate at the moment. You will see…❤️

Class act! Angelina has a 1000 voices, she always chooses the right one for the occasion. If you had known the back story your opinion might have been different. It was a tribute to Narges Mohammadi, an Iranian woman serving a 37 year prison sentence for fighting for women’s rights. Her 17 year twin children were in front of Angelina when she sang this. Throw into the equation that this song was written for a 1956 film “Unchained”, which was about prisoners longing to be with their loved ones. Angelina is always elegant, it is her style, no one tells her how to look. She also has Iranian connections, her maternal grandmother is Iranian, so the whole performance meant a great deal to her. Now watch it again!

You've done it now. You have fallen into the vortex of Angelina Jordan who arguably brings the most confident, versatile, seemingly effortless, and fearless vocal artistry found today (whether measured across artists, genres, or decades). You may think this an exaggeration but listen to a few more of her many performances (170+ covers plus original songs - all on YT) and you will see! She has been performing at a high level all over the world since age 8 when she won Norway's Got Talent singing Billie Holiday, Nancy Sinatra, and Gershwin. It is the rare singer that can, as Angelina has done, go from Queen to "Screamin" Jay Hawkins to Adele to Elvis to Whitney Houston to Michael Jackson to Etta James to James Brown to Amy Winehouse to the Beatles (and many others in between) and do them all justice!
If you want to hear music, listen to anyone. If you want to feel music, listen to Angelina. She will stagger you with her ability to find and bring forth the 'essence', the emotional message of nearly any song. You have far to go with Angelina. She is equally comfortable and equally able to impact us whether singing a cappella, accompanied only by a piano or guitar, in front of professional studio musicians or a 40-piece military band. With her immense vocal toolkit, arranging ability (yeah, that too, since about 8yo or so) and the work ethic to make what she does only 'seem' effortless, she will hopefully be touching hearts for a long time to come.
Why God has performed the miracle of touching the world with one of such talent, musical IQ, commitment, and generosity as Angelina we can wonder but we must all marvel. Welcome aboard the AJ train! Please react to more of her impressive library. Her musical range will astound you.
This is her second time performing at a Nobel Peace prize ceremony. She is a veteran already.

😊😊😊😊The Norwegian singer, Angelina Jordan is a young legend. now living in LA, Angelina Jordan (curent 18 Yeats old ). She is an elegant artist for the big occasions. Which artist has sung for the Nobel Peace Prize twice, and she sings FIFA's official song before the upcoming World Cup. She has sung for 40,000 in concert with Nora Jones. She has helped to collect 21 million for children in need. Performed for many countries' heads of state on many big occasions. Concert in Las Vegas, with a number of other live concerts. Signed record deal with "Republic Records" at only 14 years old. The list is almost endless ...
She is so talented that no one can ignore her, and together with Rebpublic Records, her family, and herself, she actually sets the pace herself to total fame . Although she herself is an 18-year-old young lady, her taste in music is quality, and not just high bass in the stomach.
When the next James Bond film is to be made, who do you think is in the spotlight for a possible theme song? The list of what Angelina has already been involved in is already so extensive that only a deep dive into her performances has to be searched online by yourself. It is too extreme to almost believe at the age of just turned 18!!!!
All important people in the music industry know who she is and what she is good at on big occasions. I don't think anyone has the guts to suggest to her a fast track that doesn't suit her. Your initial reaction reminds me of the first time I tried quality red wine. I was unprepared for the sensations, a mixture of sweet, bitter, familiar, complex tastes and aromas. I was a total novice, but instead of trying to judge the wine at the outset, I let the wine speak to me through different samples. Over time I developed some preferences, but I was always open to the variety and inherent quality of each new wine I sampled. So my advice to you, a first-time listener of Angelina, is to sample and enjoy, letting the music take you where your heart and mind may go. Her music is first and foremost a labor of love that she is sharing with you, just you...enjoy! For you and your generation, she is the very best vocalist of your time!

She speaks multiple languages, plays multiple instruments, writes, composes and now produces, her label gifted her her own private studio. Has raised millions for children charities, and has her own charities where proceeds from her merch goes to the charity.
Has met with some of the best and greatest in the biz since she was young. But most of all she is the most humbled kind hearted who has been protected from the shadows of the industry. She isn't a singer to go dance in a swimsuit on stage, she has sung for Kings, Princes and President world over. She is the type of singer that other singers go and see. Unchained Melody Nobel Peace Prize Dec. 2023
This is Angelina Jordan the most extraordinary storyteller in my lifetime.
Unchained Melody (AJ, at the age of 17 performed at the Nobel Peace Prize Ceremony December 2023 in Oslo, Norway) I watched as Angelina Jordan stepped onto the stage, her presence commanding attention. The room hushed, anticipation hanging in the air like a delicate thread. She stood there, a young girl with an old soul, ready to weave magic with her voice. As the first notes of "Unchained Melody" filled the room, time seemed to slow. Angelina's voice wrapped around each word, infusing them with a depth that transcended mere lyrics. It was as though the song had been written for her, and her alone. The audience held its breath as she sang. Her voice soared, reaching heights that touched the heavens. The pain and longing in her eyes mirrored the emotions in the song-the heartache, the yearning. It was more than a performance; it was a revelation. The chorus came, and Angelina's voice swelled, filling every corner of the room. " Oh, my love, my darling I've hungered, hungered for your touch," she sang, and suddenly, we all felt the real meaning of the words. The magic in her performance was like nothing we had ever experienced in our lives. The lyrics came alive and had meaning as they flowed through us. In that moment, Angelina Jordan became a vessel for something greater-an embodiment of love itself. Her voice carried us beyond our own pain and loneliness. We felt connected-to her, to each other, to something intangible yet profound. As she held that final note, time snapped back into place. The applause erupted-a thunderous acknowledgment of what we had just witnessed. But it wasn't just applause; it was gratitude-for allowing us to glimpse love and longing through Angelina's eyes. And so, we stood there, hearts full, tears in our eyes. Angelina Jordan had given us something rare-a reminder that love exists even in our brokenness. And for those few minutes, we believed it with every fiber of our being. (CopyRight)

The performance was honouring Narges Mohammadi who is a Iranian woman in Prison who received the Nobel Peace prize. Angelina's grandmother is Iranian. This was also in her home town Oslo. Narges two children were in the audience. Angelina was not sick. Her voice is powerful. She is preforming since the age of 7 when she won Norway's got talent. As she said herself she does not get nervous.

Angelina Jordan Astar was born and raised in Norway, but moved to Los Angeles in her mid-teens. She started singing at age eighteen months and has never stopped. She won Norway's Got Talent at age 8 singing songs by Billie Holiday, Frank & Nancy Sinatra, and George Gershwin. She's also Norway's youngest published author, having released her book Between Two Hearts at age 9. That same year, she recorded her own arrangement of I Put A Spell On You, which is still my favorite performance of hers. It'll give you shivers. It's not often that someone starts his Angelina Jordan journey with this performance (or any of her 550 videos, usually it's "I put a spell on you" or "Bohemian Rhapsody"). You're absolutely right, one video isn't enough (btw ten aren't enough either), especially when it comes to an artist who is so versatile and has had enough opportunities to live it out in the ten years of her stage career so far.
You know your stuff pretty well and are flexible, I like that. 👍 You were right with 1965 (cover by the Righteous brothers) and with the quick search result 1955 (release of the original) you were close - one more click and you would have had it.
The official Nobel Peace Prize concert always takes place the day after the award ceremony - both in Oslo (Norway). Angelina is Norwegian, even though she has been living in LA for six years now.
KORK is the Norwegian Radio Symphony Orchestra and belongs to Norway's national broadcaster NRK. As for now, it has 55 positions. When ten-year-old Angelina performed Gershwin's "Summertime" with KORK eight years ago, there were 58 musicians in the room - you can count them if you like when you do your reaction to this video ;-) I hope there will be more to come?

Oh boy, you are going to be bombarded by her fans called Angels that will fill you in on this music prodigy with an old soul from Norway. She's basically been a star since she was 7 years old. First and foremost, she is a jazz singer but has the ability to sing any genre. She also does all of her own musical arrangements. Even though she has been compared by many to Amy Winehouse, her major influence is Billie Holiday. Other influences are Dinah Washington, Louis Armstrong, Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, Etta James,Whitney Houston, and Adele to name a few. Her love of jazz came from her grandmother playing jazz music around her when she was young. In 2014, she entered at age 7 and won Norway's Got Talent at the age of 8. With her new found fame, she used it to appear on many shows from abroad and help raise millions for the less fortunate children around the world. At age 13, she was invited to participate on America's Got Talent: The Champions in 2020. She shocked the audience and the judges with her rendition of Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen. She received a standing ovation from all and got the Golden Buzzer from judge Heidi Klum to go straight to the Finals. Her performance went viral and even the group Queen responded on Twitter by saying, "Wow, what a rendition!" For Queen to respond to someone covering one of their songs is quite a feat since they rarely react to anyone. She did not win, but her fan base grew and expanded her popularity.
Now 18 years old, living in Los Angeles, and currently signed with Republic Records, whose clients include Taylor Swift, Ariana Grande, The Weeknd, and Drake to name a few. Her family and Republic Records had agreed not to heavily promote her just yet so she can live as normal of a life as possible and finish her schooling. From what we know, she is finally done with school. She had a single that came out May 5th called Love Don't Let Me Go, a new EP called Old Enough that came out Friday, July 21st, 2023, a newly released video of her new song called Now I'm The Fool, and a new album of original music which will be coming out some time this year. Angelina released her new single, Our Time, and is fantastic! She returned back to Norway and performed at a number of sold out concerts in which fans from around the world came to see her. Many of the fans there said she sounded better live in person and was a once in a lifetime experience. On September 22, 2023, Angelina had her first U.S. concert that sold out in Portsmouth, New Hampshire. On December 11, 2023, she was asked to come back and perform at the Nobel Peace Prize Concert. She first performed at this prestigious event in 2014 when she was 8. On Feb.29th, 2024, she performed 2 shows on one night at the Westgate Las Vegas Resort and Casino. A film crew followed her and created a documentary of her called Angelina Jordan: 10 Years In The Making which premiered on her official TH-cam channel on March 29th, 2024.
Her fans call her The Barefoot Princess. She always performs with no shoes when she sings. Why? The reason is very special. When she was 6 years old, she was traveling with her family in Iran where she met a poor shoeless girl in the streets that was about her age. She made money by weighing people. After speaking with her for a few minutes, Angelina noticed the scars on the girl's feet and asked the girl what her dream is. The girl said she wanted to be a doctor but she couldn't because she had to make money for her family. Angelina did what came natural to her, she gave the little girl her shoes and told her to not give up on her dreams. The girl then asked Angelina what her dreams were, Angelina answered that she wanted to sing for the whole world, and the girl said she would pray for her success. Since then, Angelina has performed barefoot in honor of that little girl and to those who are less fortunate around the world. She keeps this promise to this day. One of the reasons why we love her so much!

George, "Welcome to the wonderful world of Angelina Jordan!" George, you're in shock right now and that's understandable. Millions of us around the world have felt the same way at one time. The song was chosen because the Nobel Peace Prize Award was being given to Narges Mohammadi, who is currently in an Iranian prison because she has spoken out about women's rights so the song reflected the sorrow of the moment. The woman's twins (a boy and a girl) were sitting in front of Angelina and they received the award. Angelina had been quoted as saying she was afraid she might start crying during the song but she did, in fact, sing it beautifully and the ending note was extraordinarily beautiful (even though it didn't seem to affect you at all and raised my eyebrows to wonder exactly who you are). And, you mentioned she didn't sound like what you expected to hear. What? Another words you went into this without knowledge of what she would sound like but were disappointed by what she did sound like??? That makes no sense. For some people it takes them a little longer to comprehend what they just heard. I believe you are one of those BUT I have every confidence you will come around if you stick with her.

If you have not researched the background of this particular performance, it would not be surprising that you would not fully understand the reason behind the gentle, delicate way she chose to perform it. And no one tells her how to do any of her performances. And no, she was not overwhelmed by the occasion; she has been performing on stage, in front of large audiences in many live concerts in several countries (including two recent concerts in las Vegas), as well as doing innumerable studio performances, since winning Norway's Got Talent at age 8. She has complete control over every aspect of her voice and is able to adjust her delivery to perfectly impart exactly what she wants to express in every song she sings. Here, she is honouring the Nobel Peace Prize 2023 winner, Narges Mohammadi, a civil rights activist who is in prison in Iran because of her struggle for women's rights and whose children are living in exile in France and have not seen their mother in many years. Angelina has chosen a song whose lyrics are stunningly appropriate to the occasion, and delivers it like a cry of loss, longing, love and hope to Narges's children, who are there in the audience to receive the prize in their mother's absence.

    Hi George,
even if you already got some comments with good information allow me sending you my "standard newbies comment" (SNC) - maybe you can find some for you new information in it ;-)
    So, here is my SNC:
Welcome to the universe of Angelina Jordan and thanks a billion for this nice reaction to her - I'm sure to hear more reactions to her from you! ...because it is...
    ...too late!
From now on you are assimilated in Angelina's entourage! Resistance is futile...
Even if you won't believe it and if you are in denial about it: Only listen to one song sung by Angelina Jordan and you are hooked on listening her voice! Maybe you aren't aware of it yet... a legend says in rare cases there are humans who can resist.... but I can't believe it 😏
Every time it's a pleasure to watch people reacting to Angelina Jordan - especially when it is the first time - and I hope to see more of your reactions on Angelina Jordan... 😏
    So a little Question:
When you react to her cover "I put a spell on you" b/w studio version at 9yo (th-cam.com/video/nwFloCPXzCs/w-d-xo.html - btw. like here she made most of her cover arrangements by herself! ..at the beginning she made her last changes for the piano arrangement and gave her "wishes" to the band leader..) it would be nice to react in the same reaction video IN ADVANCE to the original from Screemin' Jay Hawkins (from 1956 - Live: th-cam.com/video/7kGPhpvqtOc/w-d-xo.html or another version of it: th-cam.com/video/orNpH6iyokI/w-d-xo.html
and here a version from 1990 in Tokyo - I feel, this is like the version Angelina has taken as the model, but I don't know it ( 😏 ): th-cam.com/video/Bb9ag8bch_U/w-d-xo.html
    or as Audio-Studio-Version:
th-cam.com/video/82cdnAUvsw8/w-d-xo.html) that's real fun :-D - and than you will find out that Angelinas cover is a virtuoso tribute to Jay Hawkins :-D
At the beginning you see her something writing on a sheet and a man reading it and smiles than.. in an interview this man, who was the "bandleader", said, this were some "wishes" from Angelina (she was every time very polite he said) for changes of her arrangement for the piano 😃)
The candle you can see at about 0:12 shows a portrait of J. Hawkins - I think her grandma bought it at a concert in Tokyo 😏
At 0:26 you can see the bassist smiling - I can imagine that he smiles about the expectable reactions of the listeners in the moment, when Angelina starts to sing at 0:30 😏
Btw. I read somewhere that her grandma was in person at a concert of SJH in Japan (as she, AJs mother and uncle lived there some years - AJs grandpa is Japanese) and there AJs grandma bought this candle as a souvenir 😏
    ...I hope this story isn't a HOAX 😃
Maybe you wonder, what videos you should next react to 😏 ...
Furthermore there is a big pile of over 170 videos on TH-cam with Angelina Jordans rehearsals, covers and originals... and each and every one is worth to listen and to react to - even the very early recordings when she was 6 yo!
She is born January 10th 2006 in Oslo/Norge (English is her 3rd language 😏), sung her first notes of a Whitney Houston song with 18 months (link see down), started researching the internet for Jazz 3 yo, entered Norske Talenter (Norwegian Got Talent) 7 yo and won it 8 yo, was on AGT The Champions (recorded Oct. 2019, aired Jan. 2020) where she didn't won - some rumours say because she/her mother didn't sign the contract with the enterprise of Simon Cowell for to stay independent - meanwhile she has signed with Republic Records (musicnorway.no/aktuelt/industry-talk-michael-astar ).
Btw. her full name is Angelina Jordan Astar, but in most occasions she is introduced as Angelina Jordan - she herself answered in the audition of Norske Talenter her name is "Angelina Jordan"… 😏

and songs which are especially written for her:
"Song for A": th-cam.com/video/Bo3mhxPM-uA/w-d-xo.html - (there is a discussion if "A" stands for Angelina, Annie - the woman in the lyrics - or both of them 😏 - the lyrics are from a poem from Robert Burns written in 1783 ! )
"Above the water": th-cam.com/video/SC3F0bKKk3U/w-d-xo.html - interesting voice - even if EDM is not my preferred genre 😏
... here her "mini concert" from AGT the Champions (Watch out: With these videos other reactors have the most problems with copyright claims...):
    "Bohemian Rhapsody": th-cam.com/video/7gQljxeaNuM/w-d-xo.html
    "Goodbye Yellow Brick Road": th-cam.com/video/NVRWYEk8T3A/w-d-xo.html
    “Someone You Loved": th-cam.com/video/0go_TIm4jtI/w-d-xo.html
...and for those, who like to hear it with the audio from the rehearsal without the noise from the audience at the performance a version edited from pa1189j : th-cam.com/video/O6Jw-ETH1mA/w-d-xo.html
In the meanwhile there are some more live versions of her originals and some cover songs from her summer 2022 concerts like in Kurbadhagen... 😏
Besides she is mostly making her very own arrangement there are some very interesting videos of her, where she uses the original arrangement or a big one of someone else like "I Have Nothing" (Whitney Houston Tribute) th-cam.com/video/eTcvvO6B3Io/w-d-xo.html or "Fly Me To The Moon" in the arrangement of Quincy Jones (rehearsal with concert mixed audio for his birthday party in the O2 arena): th-cam.com/video/OMkwoqUNNkE/w-d-xo.html .
And here is a video where it is explained (with English subtitles) why she performs barefoot: th-cam.com/video/A-OKLslO74Y/w-d-xo.html and here an Interview in the Norwegian TV (with English subtitles) from 2015 after she has published her book about the story why she is barefoot when performing: th-cam.com/video/-cCLDY0CSZ8/w-d-xo.html
In addition to school she got also vocal training at the Oslo School of Music and Performing Arts after-school program (I read, that this school said, they couldn't teach her more stuff because she has all learned what she could learn in this school ;-) ) - and btw. she plays also grand piano, violin, flute and guitar, make her arrangements herself, wrote a book, sew clothes for herself (partly with art from her grandma like in her first AGT performance and in her music video "Shield").
So, she is a real all-rounder and I think all her fans are eager to see and hear what she is doing next...
All the other things like more recommendation, chronological playlists and so on you can read in the comments of the mega-fans like Fernando F., Rusty (AJ videos in chronological order th-cam.com/channels/55am_6Y5-Fj4ri8xOInstA.html), Andy Schnell, ...
Thanks a billion again for your reaction! … and see you soon with your next AJ reactions - with greetings from Berlin/Germany 😃 Best regards
    Andreas

Hello George, nice that you took a little look down Angelina's rabbit hole. You are at the very beginning and I hope that you will continue the journey because there is a lot to discover, she is the best singer in the world (in my opinion), she won Norway's Got Talent with 7/8 but you will Find out for yourself and believe me, you will be just as addicted to her voice as all other fans (Angels), she is also called the barefoot angel with the 1000 voices, why she always performs barefoot is another story, she can give her voice to everyone Adapt and improve the song and also convey a lot of emotions and she not only has around 200 covers but also 13 originals written by her and 2 written for her, all of which are amazing and even now legendary and there is a lot to tell, I'm looking forward to it more reactions and have now subscribed to you, greetings from Germany, by the way, she is now 18 years old

AJ’s Christmas Show that live-streamed on Dec 23 of 21 had some of the most important musicians of our time: Frank Sinatra's drummer for 6 years, and sun in-law of the late Henry Mancini, Greg Field has won 9 Grammys, and the bass player, Chuck Berghofer who also played for Sinatra for 6 years, and toured with Barbara Streisand, accompanied AJ on her Christmas Show, and they stated that she had the "storytelling ability of the greats, Streisand, Fitzgerald, Vaughan, including Sinatra, to name a few. The main pianist, a five-time nominated for Grammys, Shelly Berg, stated in all his years working with the greatest vocalist, he had never encountered a talent like AJ. Did I forget to mention Jimmy Z, the famous Sax Player who worked with Rod Steward, Etta James, the Eurythmics, and Doctor Dre, was part of the band for the show? Jimmy stated that AJ was the best he has ever played for. Rob Christie Republic Records Studio Director at Universal Music Group Manhattan Beach, California played the guitar, and was the MC of the show. (I can't list the complete backgrounds on all the band members because it would take several pages to do them justice.) Angelina stated that she would rather perform than take a breath, and she has never been forced to perform, it has been her decision. (CopyRight)
AJ now lives in West Hollywood in Los Angeles, where the record company Republic Records has built a separate music studio for her. She states; "I feel incredibly lucky to have been signed by one of the biggest record companies in the world. I have my own studio where I make my own music. There will also be a lot of concerts in the future because I have released an EP. I will soon go on a world tour and play my songs, (This was stated to TV2 in Norway on Aug. 21, 2023) (CopyRight)

From Republic Records bio, Angelina said “Today, I sing barefoot as a reminder of all the kids in the world who need help and support.” See Angelina's book "Mellom to hjerter" (Between Two Hearts) for background story of 6-year old Angelina meeting shoeless girl to whom Angelina gave her shoes. A few of the hundreds of covered/original songs by Angelina include:
-- What A Difference A Day Makes (as 8-year old, sung Dinah Washington classic on Allsang På Grensen at Fredriksten Fortress in Halden, Norway on June 3, 2014. Angelina's presentation of song belies her age: th-cam.com/video/ZSfgCIGd7k4/w-d-xo.html)
-- Shield [as 12-year old, Angelina co-wrote about someone you love and whose strong love protects you wherever you are. She sung on very popular Scandinavian talk show Skavlan (2.5 to 3 million viewers per show): th-cam.com/video/lQtUbVKb0vs/w-d-xo.html]
-- Bohemian Rhapsody (as 13-year old, Angelina creates unique, stripped-down version of Queen's hit 1975 song for America’s Got Talent The Champions getting worldwide recognition. Queen links to her performance on their Twitter account stating "Wow! What a rendition @angelinajordanA" and gives Angelina copyright to publish her version: th-cam.com/video/qF0JV28vgLw/w-d-xo.html)
-- Million Miles (co-wrote as 14-year old after her maternal grandfather died and she was thinking about great memories she had and how it hurts to lose someone. Angelina dedicated song to anyone who has lost loved one. Angelina made Republic Records studio live video: th-cam.com/video/3KxvwuZ7oEM/w-d-xo.html)
-- 7th Heaven (co-wrote as 15-year old, Angelina said that “The song is a reminder to look at everything in a positive light and not get down on yourself. Most importantly-no matter what you’re doing-don’t give up. It’s also meant to make you dance.” Angelina made Republic Records studio live video: th-cam.com/video/bM8DzMRbiIc/w-d-xo.html)
-- Billie Jean (as 15-year old, Angelina completely turns Michael Jackson’s 1982 hit song on its head by doing a jazzy version that re-invents the song to something different than original: th-cam.com/video/xp67k9wk2Mw/w-d-xo.html)
-- You Say (as 15-year old, Angelina exquisitely covers Lauren Daigle’s hit song (over 6 million units sold) that won a Grammy Award and was lead song on her 2018 album Look Up Child: th-cam.com/video/9K8JOd4VIpk/w-d-xo.html)
-- Suspicious Minds (as 16-year old, music video shot in LA antique store. Angelina puts unique twist to this 1969 Elvis Presley hit song by slowing it way down and rearranging lyrics: th-cam.com/video/RTbKhkceR00/w-d-xo.html)
-- Love Don’t Let Me Go (co-wrote as 17-year old, music video shot in black and white interspersing Angelina singing in studio with her driving 1955 Porsche 356 Speedster with grandmother Mery Zamani in car: th-cam.com/video/1U6WY_z8Vu8/w-d-xo.html)
-- Now I’m The Fool (co-wrote as 17-year old, music video shot in black and white. Angelina is sassy and pours out her heart with feelings of pain expressed visually and vocally: th-cam.com/video/8BXCVY_-RmU/w-d-xo.html)
-- When We Were Young (as 18-year old, sung Adele’s hit song at Angelina’s Las Vegas concert on February 29, 2024 at the Westgate on the same stage that Elvis performed 636 consecutive sold-out shows: th-cam.com/video/DUjE-WwnHis/w-d-xo.html)
-- Stay (as 18-year old, sung Rihanna’s hit ballad about temptation and inability to resist true love at Angelina’s Las Vegas Westgate February 29, 2024 concert. Angelina's soothing voice makes it quite beautiful: th-cam.com/video/MnORmGnJWNc/w-d-xo.html)
-- Princess of Ruins (as 18-year old. Angelina wrote song on barefoot girl gave her shoes to. This was first performance of unpublished song by Angelina during her Las Vegas Westgate February 29, 2024 concert: th-cam.com/video/jbjzHYJuDjQ/w-d-xo.html)

For anybody new to Angelina, who wants to get to know her quickly, I created this playlist with 11 songs from age 7 to 17 (plus a trailer for a documentary describing her career up to 2023): th-cam.com/play/PLddfS789jBCrSUcMxwCiHeJi8A9zN5xt3.html
    1. Gloomy Sunday, her 2013 audition to Norway's Got Talent, when she was 7, which was aired in 2014 and then immediatly went viral.
    2. Fly Me to the Moon, live on The View, was her US debut later in 2014, and also went viral. It gathered more than 37 Million views on TH-cam, and many more on Facebook.
    3. I Put a Spell On You, the song where Screamin' Jay Hawkins got his nickname from, has 11 Million Views so far. Her cover is closer to his original than most well known covers of it. She was 9 years old here.
    4. Feeling Good, in a version sung on TV in 2016 while still being 10 years old, though she already started to perform the song in public about a year earlier.
    5. A Million Years Ago, one of 13 Adele covers she did, as an impressive acoustic home studio recording.
    6. Shield, from 2018, was the third original she relased that year at 12 years old. It is about the protection and support she gets from her family.
    7. Bohemian Rhapsody, in her own stripped down arrangement on AGT the Champions Season 2, wowed everyone, including the group Queen themselves, who twittered "Wow, what a performance of Bohemian Rhapsody!"
    8. Million Miles, which she wrote and produced together with Stargate, is about the loss of a close person (her grandfather), and was the first song she released 2020 with Republic Records.
    9. 7th Heaven, her 2nd song with RR from 2021, is encouraging people to persue their dreams, like she did.
    10. Suspicious Minds, done 2022, is an Elvis cover as unique as Bohemian Rhapsody was.
    11. Love Don't Let Me Go, her third release with Republic Records, and the first new song on her recently released EP "Old Enough" of total 6 new original songs.
If you are more interested in her recent performances, here is a playlist containing releases and performances from her last 3 years, including all titels from "Old Enough": th-cam.com/play/PLddfS789jBCqMgW5xQeK97nibjJCeDme5.html
She cites Billy Holiday as her biggest influence. And she covered more songs from Adele than by any other artist, followed by Amy Winehouse, Elvis, and Sam Smith

Everyone is surprised when they first hear Angelina! She developed a mature voice and style at a very young age. As for this performance, remember this was a tribute to Narges Mohammadi, who is in prison in Iran for her activism on behalf of women, so Angelina was not going to show off her own skills. She kept it soft and soulful to respect Ms Mohammadi. The music was originally the theme to a movie (called 'Unchained') about a man in prison singing (in his mind) to his lover, so it is a very appropriate choice for this occasion. Please listen to some earlier work of Angelina - you will be surprised all over again!

The recipient for this year's award was Narges Mohammadi, an Iranian dissident, now in an Iranian prison for her outspoken messages and activism for women's rights. Narges' two twin children were here this evening for the event, and spoke on her behalf prior to Angelina singing. The children are Angelina's age and haven't seen their mother in years. She was able to speak with both before her performance and I'm sure, made that performance all the more poignant for her in the moment. Angelina is one-quarter Iranian herself, her grandmother Mery, full Iranian. If you are lucky enough to watch any of the videos of Angelina interacting with any of her family, especially her grandmother, you will quickly see the connection between those two--the love is palpable--it's a beautiful thing to behold.
As you continue to discover the wonders of Angelina's past, present and future, the inner beauty of this remarkable human being, I hope you start to feel the joy and goodness this young lady exudes with her gorgeously emotive voice.

In order to totally get Angelina, one must listen to her early years and lead up to her recent years.

Welcome to “The World Of Angelina Jordan Astar” (full name). “The Barefoot Princess With The Velvet Voice And A Mona Lisa Smile”. Born Jan 10, 2006 in Oslo Norway. From her audition on Norway’s Got Talent (2014 - age 7 - Gloomy Sunday "Billy Holiday") through the final on America’s Got Talent The Champions (2020 - age 13 - Goodbye Yellow Brick Road "Sir Elton John") and the 130+ videos in between you will not be disappointed. This includes three originals song: “What Is Life”, “Oslo” and “Shield” Since then she has done many new covers and now her new singles "Million Miles" and “7th Heaven”, along with her movie soundtrack "Mercy" from the motion picture “The Hating Game”. As well as her brilliant version of Elvis’s “Suspicious Mind”. She released her latest album “Old Enough” and it is definitely some of her best stuff. My personal favorite is her cover of Lana Del Rey's "Born To Die". Although the soundtrack is really growing on me.

...I would like to add: Angelina always consider the context and roots of a song. Here it's a song about a prisoner and his feelings to his love - and the nobel prize winner is also one... the song was well chosen for this event - and Angelina expressed this with her voice, she can adapt to the context so precisely that often people/reactors say at many different songs "...this song is a good choice for her voice..." but in fact Angelina is capable to adapt her voice to the song 😎

In addition to performing well over 150 covers over the years - Angelina has been writing songs since she was 10 years 0ld - So far 12 have been released: Oslo, What is Life?, Shield, Million Miles, 7th Heaven, Love Don't Let Me Go, Now I'm The Fool, Fire and Rain, All My Fault, Good in Goodbyes, Diamond, and Our Time. Angelina has stated that she has written about 100 songs that have yet to be released. Her songs are taken from her Journal writings. When she was 10/11 she rewrote the Lyrics to Amy Winehouse's Back to Black and Rehab to make them more age appropriate at that time. In addition, Angelina performed an unreleased original song Princess of Ruins at her Las Vegas concerts - if and when that is officially released it will be her 13th original.

Let's see Taylor S. do this. Fly to Norway for a one-shot deal. To sing at the Nobel peace prize presentation. Full national orchestra. Audience of dignitaries from all around the world. No auto-ANYTIHNG. No lip syncing. No back-up singers to hide or bury her voice. No stupid overtly disturbing posing or choreography. No rhinestone covered skintight body suit. Only a few rehearsals with the orchestra. Probably a European TV audience of millions. She has also played LIVE before tens of thousands, even hundreds of millions if you count her FIFA television performance. Try a few more for a better idea of this amazing young lady. Nice reaction . I think she's the best singer ever, certainly an amazing God given talent who was singing in the crib at the age of one and a half.
AJ sings to share her interpretation of a song with you, not to show off her voice. Below are links to some AJ videos age 6 to 17; she just turned 18 this past January 10th. Looking forward to more of your AJ reviews.
Her singing career began in the studio at age 6. She auditioned for Norways Got Talent at age 7, winning the competition after turning 8. At age 13, she was a golden buzzer finalist on AGT Champions and was signed to Republic Records at age 14.
She does all the vocal arrangements herself, even when she was a little kid. The musicians she has worked with over the years have always called her the boss. By age 6 she spoke Norwegian, Farsi, (her grandmother's Persian), and English. She plays piano, guitar, flute and violin. She has done over 200 covers and many originals, couple of EPs, latest EP Old Enough is all original songs.
Her parents have held the music industry at bay for years ensuring that she has a childhood and finishes school first. Part of the Republic Records deal reportedly being that they're not allowed to promote her like their other new artists, I think, until she's 18. Or until she gets out of school, which could mean high-school or college.
I think I read that she's enrolling in an arts school after high school. She did two shows at Westgate Las Vegas this past February 29th, with lots of fan recorded videos out there, unfortunately not always the best quality.
Age 6: Her grandmother who first exposed her to jazz booked studio time for her or this is part of an after school program. I've heard both stories. She recorded 3 songs. Here's a link to one of them- I Who Have Nothing. Turn on the captions and watch all the way to the end where they discuss how it went.
    th-cam.com/video/RjQZKBpVaes/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ao3nLyBB7Ns7XQuL
Age 7/8: All performances on Norways Got Talent. She asked to go on the show at age 5 but had to wait until she was 7. You could do them individually with judges comments, or all at once without judges.

Nobel Peace Prize is presented in Oslo, Norway and the others I believe are presented in Stockholm, Sweden. She is so talented there is a behind the scenes video of her working with the director of KORK (Norwegian Radio Orchestra) and a pianist doing the arrangement for this performance. th-cam.com/video/P_cTGSaBVJo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=0uE48FOz9QB15QyI She crushed the ending! They kept this rendition subdued because of the occasion. Angelina and KORK just did a magnificent rendition of Unchained Melody! The perfect song for Narges Mohammadi Nobel Peace Prize! Third time with KORK, she did Back to Black and Summertime when she was 10! Has been invited twice to Nobel Peace Prize, previously appeared when she was eight! Narges is in jail for leading the fight for women’s rights in Iran! And let’s not forget Angelina’s Iranian heritage and Oslo is her hometown! At the end Angelina puts her hand over her heart acknowledging Narges children who were on stage and happen to be Angelina’s age and are living in exile in France! Would recommend her new unreleased original song: Princess of Ruins! Angelina debuted the song at her recent Las Vegas, Nevada concert, she tells the story why she performs barefoot on stage! Angelina stated “It is part of her identity and she will always perform barefoot.” Princess Of Ruins: th-cam.com/video/jbjzHYJuDjQ/w-d-xo.htmlsi=k-uMgT04l79gsUHJ
No she was not sick! She also is known for her lower register! She does not try to over sing a song! When she does a belt it is because she feels the performance needs it!

You said it best yourself - "You can't judge a singer with just one song". And unfortunately for you and your audience, somehow you chose possibly the worst song for a first Angelina Reaction. Angelina's Nobel Peace Prize Tribute performance REQUIRES a good deal of contextual knowledge (background) for a reactor to have a chance in he11 of making an even slightly coherent reaction. I know you have already seen this video, but you should watch the mini-documentary that I created due to this exact issue : CONTEXT IS EVERYTHING FOR THIS PERFORMANCE, UNLIKE ANY OF ANGELINA'S HUNDREDS OF OTHER PERFORMANCES.
Please watch the video on my channel, either on your own, or record yourself watching & react to it for you and your audience. If you don't think it was worth it, then trash it, but I feel it will completely alter your point of view and how you interpret her performance. The text in the video can go by somewhat quickly in parts, so don't hesitate to pause - the text is important. Finally, you should note that the complete Performance itself - the performance you just reacted to here - is included at the end of the video, so you will have the opportunity to watch it again with the perspective that the background offers. The video ends with a Narration from Angelina herself, speaking to her fans.
The video includes segments from 4 or 5 more songs Angelina has sung, reaching back as far as age 8, so in addition to gaining context for the Nobel performance, you will get an expanded viewpoint of Angelina's singing itself.
I hope you take the opportunity to do so, for you and your audience. I have nothing to gain here except teaching people about Angelina - my channel is dedicated to Angelina, it is entirely Non-Monetized and I likewise have no external Monetization. Thanks for Your Time. James Thiel 😇Jim

    ------------------------
    Lyrics "Promise"
You said that you'll be there when I get home
You'll do the laundry cook the meal for all
But I smell neither garlic nor the cotton when I'm here
All I hear is silence that you left when you disappeared
    Why didn't you say
That you wouldn't stay with me forever
Like then on a day you first met me
I don't even care why you had to leave baby
    You tear me apart
    Look how selfish you are
Left me behind when I gave you my life
    Where are you now
How am I supposed to tell them How
And you promised that you wouldn't leave before me
Tell me why you couldn't keep your promise
I know that you can't hear me like before
But there are things I think you need to know
The things that you would know If you'd just wait a little more
But you don't like to wait and now they think that it's their fault
    Why didn't you say
That you wouldn't stay with me forever
Like then on a day you first met me
I don't even care why you had to leave baby
    You tear me apart
    Look how selfish you are
Left me behind when I gave you my life
    Where are you now
How am I supposed to tell them How
And you promised that you wouldn't leave before me
Tell me why you couldn't keep your promise
