  • The most famous Islamist group to emerge from Afghanistan are the Taliban who recently swept to power following a 2 decades long war against the NATO-backed government. However, it isn't the only such group, and as has recently come to light in the attacks at Kabul Airport, IS-K, Islamic St*te - Khorasan Province is still a force to be reckoned with inside the country. In this video find out about this little-known group, their origins, modus operandi and relationship with the Taliban.
    Note: At 5:02 when describing the US service people killed I say 'servicemen' however two of the casualties were women so wanted to rectify that here.

      Taliban and ISIS are very different religiously. Taliban is extremist but generally practices traditional Sunni Islam: Maturidi Theology, Hanafi Jurisprudence, Naqshabandi Sufism (Spirituality). ISIS isn't just extremist, it follows a modern religious sect called Salafism. They reject traditional Sunni Islam and consider them heretics and should be murdered. Their Theology is anthropomorphic and literalist; they follow no school in Jurisprudence and they interpret directly from the sources however they like; they reject Sufism in its entirety. That's why they hate each other as much as they hate Shiites. People keep called Al-Qaida and ISIS Sunni when they have been taking direct aim at Sunni establishments. They are far more insane, brutal and deviant.

      Exactly, I’ve been hearing that every where on western media. If I remember ISIS doesn’t even exist in Syria unless it’s a small part of a town. Same with Iraq I believe. Then these guys in Afghanistan aren’t even the same guys but just have the same ideology so it’s just called IS-K or IS-KP.

    • @imperator692
      @imperator692 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@DoubleBullet The idea that ISIS is non existent in Syria and Iraq is another misconception. They're still there, they've just retransitioned back into a guerilla army from a more conventional force. They hide in the desert between Syria and Iraq and among Bedouin communities that inhabit the area, most of whom hold sympathies to IS. They are have a significant presence in almost every Sunni majority governorate in Iraq, with a more limited presence in the predominantly Shia south. They also have a large presence in their former Syrian territories now occupied by Kurdish communist forces. With regards to IS-KP, IS as a group maintains consistent contact with their worldwide branches, or as they call them, Provinces. But they also allow a lot of autonomy for those branches too far from Iraq and Syria, such as IS-KP, ISWAP (Islamic State West Africa Province), ISCAP (Islamic State Central Africa Province), and many others.

    Lemme point this out.
    The ANA did not want us there. From the track record of green-on-blue to the consistent retreat of its forces, to the almost immediate surrender a couple weeks ago, you can see it. I was on the ground for maybe a day when i noticed it first. Half of them are former mujahedeen or their kids, and the other half are terrified. Also, this war is civil in nature to their eyes, so both sides wanted NATO gone. Every time a leader said so, he was conveniently replaced (except for Kuwait, which retained its monarchy).
    The only reason ISIS and the Taliban are fighting each other is political- which also makes them all the bad guys, as according to Sharia, you go to hell for killing outside of jihad.
    So, why they still fighting? Sorry, but its the same answer- money and power. And we have precisely zero place interfering with that, regardless of our interest in the matter. They didn't want us there, and the moment we left, they picked up and kept right on finishing their war.

    I don't think you understand this part of the world at all. Taliban is one and the same as iskp, many people from the Taliban support them. There worldview is one and the same. They are basically like a family with little arguments here and there but their ultimate goal is the same i.e imposing Islam on the world. Usa wanting Taliban to fight Iskp has frankly shown people from our part of the world that the West even after 20 years understands nothing. It's not groups you need to fight, it's the ideology and the people who support it.

    I was hoping the K stood for "Killas", like "Isis killas". I thought a small band of brothers was uniting to take on the tyranny together.
