I am a teacher and my channel will show you how to metal detect for beginners all the way through advanced techniques for metal detectorists. I am the owner of a Minelab Safari Metal Detector, a Garrett AT Pro (at pro metal detector youtube), a WOT coil and I can teach you how to recover the deepest of targets with a metal detector. My metal detecting finds include many gold and platinum rings and early American coins as well as British Colonial coins and Spanish Colonial Coins. Metal detecting is a hobby that millions of people around the world do. All you need to try is a metal detector some batteries, a digging tool and some patience. My first metal detector cost 30 dollars at BJ's and I dug enough signals to buy my first "real" metal detector with the change that I found with the 30 dollar toy model. I decided to start Metal detecting on TH-cam because I feel the need to teach what I know. It has been a life changing activity for me and I want to share what I know. It is my hope that Metal Detecting NYC can become one of the biggest metal detecting youtube channels. My beach instructional videos include (or will include soon) , "metal detecting dry sand", (choosing a) "metal detecting sand scoop" and "surf hunting". On land, I use the website historic aerials to survey the history of a site so that I can continue metal detecting old homesites and other places with a lot of history. I love these videos, this is what detecting everywhere in the 70’s must have been like. You sir have one of the best kept secrets in the city
I love my NOX 6 inch coil. It's awesome at sites that have been hunted hard. Full sensitivity on field one and swing steady and listen for some weak high tones. You'll get some not too deep high tones that were missed by larger coils. The small size coil makes it super easy to pinpoint the target. You'll be surprised how deep this little coil will detect. I like to use the tip of my coils as a reference point. Swing over located target and back up. Hit the pin point button and slowly bring the coil forward, swinging it slightly until you hear it at its loudest tone and the segments are joined at the top. The target will be at the tip of the coil. This method is spot on. I used the 11" coil strictly for Beach hunting.
I got a 6" coil for my Equinox 700 a month ago. Going to use it for snorkeling the surf in North Florida this summer.

Another great video my friend, I use the sniper coil all the time love it my favorite coil found a seated dime at 8” with it a few weeks ago so much easier to get around in the woods too

Maybe even give DHB a try with it on low sensitivity and see what happens. I sniped out a Haagen Daas/🌮🔔 💍 after going over with stock coil. I got extremely lucky and won the sniper coil in a draw at a Minelab sponsored seeded beach hunt in Toronto last year! Nice to see the kids at the end! I can only get my son out on video when we hunt the old dump, dig the privy and bottle hunt the creek. He hasn’t developed his hyper focusing with the ADHD yet but his OCD has led him to bringing home over 70 horseshoes from an old blacksmith’s dumping ground at the creek. The girl, on the other hand, not interested whatsoever. Take care and enjoy your new toys!

Do you think the small coil might be effective at Dead Horse Bay if you crank the recovery speed up to high, sensitivity down, and maybe detect the edges or slightly less polluted areas of the beach if it is still to much? Might make an interesting video, you could always just go to mudlarking if your brain gets scrambled.
i havent confirmed yet but the sniper coil i heard everything usually rings up 1 number higher than on the 11" coil. for example a nickel should ring a 14 instead of 13 on the sniper. TAKE THE SNIPER TO DHB AND PICK OUT THE 30-33 SIGNALS!!!
when i do a full day detecting i use the 15 inch coil first then later i put on the 6 inch coil as i always get tired after a few hours of using the big coil
As I say the 6 inches search coil is great than 11&15 with same depth and sharp signal on the targets .
That's not a dog tag. Pathmark (remember them?) got sick of their shopping carts getting left in the parking lot. So they put a device on the carts where we deposited a quarter, which you got back if you returned the cart properly. When they phased out that idea those slug-like things were used to unlock the cart. The '90s.
Good stuff. I bought the 6" too. Still waiting on my Nox 800 to come in the mail. Can't wait to get my 15" coil soon too. I like how you just show us your finds. You don't bog us down with the monotony of showing us each one of your digs from start to finish like some people do. Check out Andy Sabisch's Minelab Performance book "The Equinox Series Handbook." Since my Nox was on back order due to Covid, I've had lots of time to read and watch TH-cam videos. Andy's book is the best thing I've come across so far by light years...

The Easter bunny has delivered some goodies for you! I have the big boy, but not "mini-me" for my Equinox 600. The Sniper coil for the Equinox should be closer to $125 rather than $179. I can see the big boy costing so much, there is a lot of meat there! Nice that it delivered some skilva on its inaugural voyage!

So are you going to go to the gold fields and see if you can find some gold with the small coil, I have found gold with the small coil, also in parks I like to go around the old trees with the small coil as I can swing it in tight places.
