I'm so glad you are doing this series. I need it too! I'm pulling myself out of debt slowly and trying to straighten out my taxes. Happy to go on this journey with you. You've got this! (KTX Thrifts)
Good video Amber! I'm always surprised by the vulnerability and bravery of TH-camrs that put their financial information out for the world to see. It sounds like you have a solid plan. I'm sure you'll achieve your debt-free goal before the new year. It's good to hear you say that you'll revisit things after your job settles in. Some people make a plan and then fear deviating from that plan, but sounds like you're open to adjusting, which is great. Good luck!
Thanks for sharing! One tip that I did to get out of credit card debt is to pay the minimum on the highest dollar amount card and pay the most each month to the card with the lowest balance. This got my debt paid off quicker plus I had a card with no balance that I could use in case of an emergency. It wont take you that long to get out of debt. You have a solid plan.
congrats on monetization!! thank you for sharing! you're going to shake back and everything is going to align, you got this! I do enjoy finance videos because I'm also on my pay-off debt while simultaneously saving journey.
Excited to follow along your journey out of debt! When projecting how much of your paycheck you'll have leftover to put toward debt after personal bills don't forget to account for those expenses that are not a direct "bill" but still add up quickly such as groceries/eating out (this is the biggest one), car gas, household goods, streaming services & any other subscriptions (you mentioned that one), clothes, gym, etc. Going through a past bank statement or two and adding up expenses in these different categories would probably give you a good idea of your average expenses. Phone bill might be another one to add as I didn't see it on the list. Or you could do it more simply by taking total personal expenses for last month and subtracting the bills you had on the list to see what the total other expenses are for everything else. If you're doing it that way I'd do that for a couple of prior months to get more accurate average expense number to use going forward. I know for myself those non-bill expenses tend to add up quickly and can really impact my ability to put money into savings or toward debt. The billed items make up about 67% of my monthly expenses and the non-billed are about 33%.
Yes I thought about adding those things but I put them all on my personal CC so I was just going to pay that off every month and whatever’s left over put towards debt / saving. I could break all those numbers down but it’s easier just to see what my CC is at after I pay it off monthly to get an average :) also I use my business card to pay off my cell phone bill. I have a business account with T-Mobile hahah so I technically keep that separate
Hey Amber! TH-cam has been recommending your videos to me recently, and I’ve been following along on your journey. I completely agree with Macy. Even if you are putting things on a credit card, they should be separately called out in your budget, so you can see how much you are spending each month and how much is actually going to paying down old credit card debt. It might work best to not put anything on a credit card, and then you can have things more clearly divided in your mind. Like “these are my current expenses and this is my old debt that I’m paying off.”
@@AmberResells You could just have one line item that's "subscription services" (or something like that) to account for things like netflix, canva, hulu, etc. The monthly cost doesn't vary, so no need to break it down to individual services. Or just add those items into your "Internet" item. Keep in mind that netflix has been cracking down on account sharing, so you might have to get your own account at some point now that you're connecting from a different IP. Check with T-Mobile on whether they still offer free Netflix with their cell phone plans.
Newbie here. Love this kind of videos, it’s so helpful to us thats trying to pay down debt. I agree on keeping savings as a back up, we done that & has saved us on the unexpected expenses. I’m a part time reseller & working on coming a full time reseller, your mistakes video was my 1st video I watched & was so informative. Aloha from Maui & thank you for sharing.

Hi Amber, Great videos! Will you need a food line item? That’s an expense area that I try to manage closely with rising costs.
Maybe in the future I’ll do a more detailed budget, right now I’m doing an overview as I wrap my head around it all :)

You are doing good. Ignore any naysayers. 👍
Great video! Very relatable for me. How do you feel your reselling income/available time to resell will change with a full time job? Thank you :)

Can you please share your experience with VA in next video
