If your car is running how do you make the mph/kph show that how fast your running, mine is always stay still --mph

The GPS module plugs in to the top of the unit - attach that to the top corner of your windshield and it will record your speed

Did you connect the red wire for back up mode?

I did not, because I intend on using this as a mirror replacement, and getting a separate camera for above the license plate.

I have the PR998S model, and wanted to upgrade to this PR996. Do you happen to know if the same hard wire kit can be used or would i have to get a new version?

Not sure - if it’s the same number of cameras and same connections, then i don’t see why not

How to record your speed?

They removed the split screen mode

There's never been a split screen mode since i've installed it, but if they did remove it, they should bring it back!

@@qwertyratchet It was removed June 2021. I returned mine after talking with the manufacturer.. Go look on TH-cam at other 996 models videos, you’ll see that the side by side.
