I knitted my mum a sweater for her birthday. She picked out the yarn. She was so happy with it. But, she didn't get a chance to wear it, because she died before she had the chance. We buried her in it. What you're talking about knitting for the people who appreciate it, it's so true. And she did. I wish she was still with me. I miss her so much.
I absolutely love your patterns. The best instructions hands down and tutorials and sizes. I buy each knit worthy and love all the patterns. I loved watching you talk about some of them. ❤. You have such clever constructions for your patterns.
All the reasons I enjoy knitting Ysolda patterns are mentioned in this video. Interesting construction, a variety of techniques, attention to detail and beautifully written patterns are what keep bringing me back to your patterns
I love how much thought you put into making even the more simple designs interesting to knit and hearing how your enthusiasm for each one comes through
I need more time to knit all those beautiful patterns, maybe I need to quit my job 😂 so nice to see how the construction works, that’s a big reason I want to make it.
“Crafty nineties childhood” is everything you need to know about me! I can’t wait to cast on the mittens. Ysolda, your designs as always are so clever and well considered!
This was super helpful! Love your descriptions of construction techniques - now I have some gift ideas to start working on that I will enjoy as much as the recipient :)
This my first time listening to your podcast and it was so incredibly good! I love your patterns and can't believe I didn't see out your podcast sooner. I really appreciate the time, thought, and detail that you invest in this. I'm headed over now to pre-order Knitworthy 7!!!
I can't believe your video popped up! Sometime a few months ago I saw your Nectar blanket on another TH-cam channel and thought oh, man, that's gorgeous, I need to get that pattern! But went about life and forgot.😑 Well it's on the needles now, and I just love it so much that I thought I'd tell you how happy I am!!! Thanks for being such a beautiful designer!
Hi Ysolda, I think in this podcast you mentioned being interested in other recycled yarns. I came across one called 'Second Chance' by James C. Brett which has a reasonable range of colours.
Oh my gosh, you reminded me about my husband’s grandmother who did have a basket of slippers at the door for visitors! I wasn’t a knitter yet at the time, so I didn’t really appreciate them as I would now, but it was a lovely aspect of visiting with her! 💗
I'm fairly new to your channel and website. Your designs are so beautiful though most are beyond my capabilities at this point. I do want to knit the Coracle cowl - I think I might be able to do that ok. Thanks for being so generous in sharing your amazing talent and knowledge.
Lots of lovely patterns, frustrating that I live in coastal California and haven't worn mitts or cowls in years. Maybe Nectar, if I can manage the dog issue! I do have two cousins in Canada...... quite knitworthy.
I have also thought (dreamt) about the basket of slippers for guests. I love the Drey, and maybe it will push me to make that dream happen 😊 Your explanation of what saudade means was very clear 👍🏾 And I am actually knitting a Musselburgh (my 3rd) while watching this 😄
Thank you for this episode! I love all of them, but I found this one very interesting for hearing more about your construction techniques. I also found some inspiration for the knitworthy people in my life!
so excited i went ahead and got the preorder for Knitworthy 7, and fell in love with enough patterns from Knitworthy 6 to go back and purchase that as well, lots of gift knitting for family in my future, thank you for your innovative patterns! ♥
Now I want to knit all the things! I’m currently knitting Nectar- it will be a wedding gift for my son and his partner. I’ve left myself lots of time- making a hexagon is a good palate cleanser between larger projects. I’ve chosen a lovely soft blue with indigo borders. You’ve inspired me to see if I have most of the pattern memorized- I’ve been closely following the chart and ticking off each row as I go which has made it less portable for me. But after 20 some hexagons maybe I have more of it memorized than I’m aware of! I’m excited to see the new collection especially knowing that the photos were shot in Alberta- I live in Edmonton and visit the mountains frequently❤
So many delightful patterns and interesting constructions. I can hear your love for these patterns in the way you describe them. Thank you, Ysolda. I need to get out my gift planner for this year! Stylecraft Recreate is an option for a recycled yarn. I think it is an acrylic, polyester, wool blend, 100% recycled.
@@ysoldateague It does! I just checked the palette and it is similarly restricted. Maybe the recycling means that colour possibilities are limited. However, I’m thinking the Charcoal, Avocado and Ink might be an interesting colour combination. Or maybe Smoke, Sky and Teal.🤔

Oh goodness, I’m so sorry for your loss. How meaningful that you buried her in something you made with so much love x
Hi Ysolda, loved the video. I’m new to knitting so they are by far too advanced for me at this moment 🥰

You described "saudade" meaning really well 🥰
I’m so relieved to hear that! I was definitely thinking of your explanation 🥰

Berroco has a recycled yarn called Remix. It's a good gift yarn because it can be machine washed. :)
I need to try that one! It’s not available locally to me so I haven’t had a chance yet
I have also thought (dreamt) about the basket of slippers for guests. I love the Drey, and maybe it will push me to make that dream happen 😊

I love Stylecraft Recreate, and that it comes in two weights!
