I used the level 3, non-light bearing, when I was in LE (We had to buy most of our gear if we wanted more than the bare minimum). I did a year testing before I requested to use this as my duty. Testing was in all kinds of weather in a sandy environment (NE AZ). The holster held up well, especially when dealing with resisting subjects. Holster stayed 100% locked and gun stayed secure in all calls that where things got physical in some kind of way. Edit: I used the leg strap for a bit and it helped.
Thanks for adding this! Awesome info! exactly what I wanted to know. I need the leg strap for sure. When I run with it no matter how tight my belt is it still flops around.
For one thing blackhawk does a lot of testing and is great product I have tried many and doing 18 years of security plus I have never had issues it blackhawk but I have not like Safariland to bulky
💯 I have never been a huge fan of safariland form and I have heard a lot of bad things about their holsters breaking all the time. Never had one myself but I really like this blackhawk. Cool company too.
I used to run this holster in Lvl 2 for Private security and in competitions. I noticed some of the same issues you mentioned regarding play and flop. I recently started running the Alien Gear Rapid Force Lvl 2 and am happier with how snug it secures my firearm, while still allowing for a quick draw. The holster features a retention screw to allow for a more secure retention that eliminates the wiggle you mentioned. The Rapid Force also allows for attaching an optional leg strap and drop-leg adapter.
Nice! That's awesome information! I have heard good things about alien gear holsters! I need to get one. And of course. This was just initial reaction to the holster. Hopefully next range day I can play around with retention screw and eliminate some of that. Thanks! 🤘
Can someone please help me? I am desperately looking for this level 2 or 3 holster, I have already sent several emails to Blackhawk, but I have not received any response. Does anyone have the exact article number of this level 2 or level 3 holster for me? I have a Sig P320 X5 Legion with Leupold Deltapoint and Streamlight TLR-2
Okay, I'm a little confused. There's a version for a weapon with the light and there's a version for a weapon without a light? Is the light not required for retention?
@@edwardstubbs3976 Well definitely depends. If you want to be an outside the waistband carry then this may work well. There are a few different attachments that Blackhawk offers. There is one that requires you to feed the belt through and then there is a version that tucks inside the pants an outside the pants called the paddle. To be honest, I have used the paddle version before and I am not a fan of it.
@gripitoffroad ** Yes, I definitely wear outside waist belt, but I still carry it concealed. I'm just looking for a holster with better (security) retention. Level 2, maybe?
Hey bud. What optic are you running on that pistol you're shooting with? The Staccato website is telling me I can't run an SRO with the level 2 T-series for my XC which I've already ordered. : (
@@gripitoffroad 😁 It was difficult to see some of the details on the holster and your rig setup. I have been looking for a range holster and was excited to see your review but your set was a little dim.
@K Brown did the shots of just the holster and range shots help? Should we do a more in depth view just of the holster itself? I can definitely set that up
@@gripitoffroad I think the issue was the black gun, black holster, black hoodie and the lighting that reminded me of my Navy days after sundown made it difficult to see the details that you were pointing out during the video. Maybe a quick detail video with similar lighting to when you were attaching it to your belt would help. BTW... Subscribed! 👍🏻
@@gripitoffroad A negative cant would allow the barrel to be pointed towards a threat quicker and would require less movement of the wrist to get it parallel with the ground. Not by a lot but its noticeable.
@Bad Drivers Of The NorCal Area I have seen guys shooting 6 shooters do this but for what I'm doing I'm never going to be shooting from the hip like that. That angle would make it difficult to pull out.
Dude, you might try using some proper lighting, less ego driven shooting intro's, and getting right into the meat-and-potatoes of the review. I was really looking for a solid review for that holster to consider it for duty. At least your audio was good.
Minus the low light in the room, this was by far the best and most in-depth review of this holster. Thank you.
@rootsnrhizos5252 awe, I liked the low light lol. Set the mood haha. Thanks

I’ve only ever used Blackhawk; it holds up, no question.
Nice! that's awesome!
True north has an adapter for the Blackhawk, so you can mount it to your MHA. Also fits the Alien Gear quick connect

Try adding more light to the room so we can see the product your discussing..ty
Absolutely. Will do on the next one! thanks
great video man!
Thanks, appreciate you watching!
Whoa. That's really great.
Is this holster for a specific weapon or is it adaptable to many thanks to the flashlight?
Great detailed review! Is that multi gun holster? I got Blackhawk omnivore and it’s universal multi gun as long as you use TLR1-HL light
Thanks! Appreciate it. And That's a good question but I'm not sure. I'd guess no just because it fits my p320 pretty snug.

Did you try the Alien Gear Rapid Fire level 3 holster, Mojo seems to like it.

For the version with the light the retention is on the light. Without the light it's on the trigger guard I believe
Do you need to have your belt off your body to install the holster onto your belt?
Depends on what you are wearing. Battle belt setup or regular every day carry belt?
@@gripitoffroad ** regular everyday belt ** May be this holster is not for everyday carry

@edwardstubbs3976 they have a version of this that is a compact/concealed version. With the paddle attachment should work great for that.
Do they make one for a G34?
Can the walther PDP with a streamlight work with this holster
They may make an option for that gun. Not 100% sure.
Do you happen to know if the X-Five Legion works in the x300 version of this holster?
I am not positive but they should have the proper fitment on their website
So, theoretically, if this holster retains off of the light it'll fit whatever gun drops in as long as you have the right light?
I mean not well. It is molded for the specific gun. Yes, I suppose it may latch to the light but probably not well on a different platform.
No it only fits specific pistol I can say for sure even with the light.
Do you think this holster would work with the walther PDP
Not sure, they make them for all sorts of makes. you would have to go to their website to see the options.
CZ P-10F duty holster option with level 2 or 3 retention... anyone?
What Ammo is it? The green looks cool!
Oh, we are shooting reloads we purchase from our range.

Try out a negative cant instead of that stupid FBI forward cant. A negative cant is more natural and works with you natural mechanics.
Absolutely not. In this position on the belt it would be ridiculous to put a negative cant on that holster.
No.
