Shooting at lower ISO's, better color science, flippy screen, better battery life, better AF system from the a7Siii - its not all bad. It's not perfect, but give credit where its due. If this cam was priced at $1500 rather than $1800, there's nothing on the market that can compete.... the price is a bit steep.
I do agree on all the new feature (with some new feature missing) and also they made is to be under the A7 series but over the A6 series cause they wanna keep other new feature for the new A74 and I do say that finally was about time they release something "compact" with full-frame like that...but I won't be buying this release, will be waiting for the second model release A7C2.........maybe

Usually a big fan of your videos but i’ll have to say that i cant agree with the point stated and find them misleading. Yes its smaller but it will require the same full frame lenses which are heavy and also cancel out the argument of being more unnoticed. Add a 24-70 GM on the C and it will look disproportionate, big and be uncomfortable to hold. The EVF is also way worse, badly located and small for photography. Only one card slot, making it unviable for most people doing client work. Just many points you didn’t mention. No hate, just want to let people know and consider before buying. Go with the A7iii, its cheaper and better, and for vlogging use something even smaller

Still contemplating if it's better to pick up an a7c, or a discounted a7iii though.
I’m running an a6400 now and this is literally the perfect upgrade to full frame. All I do is vlog. This should still work on my DJI Ronin SC gimbal. For TH-camrs like me this is awesome. Just wish it was 10 bit.

The A7C has better autofocus and tracking autofocus like Eye AF and animal Eye AF. The A73 is older tech. Good but old. On the other hand you can get an older A73 for cheaper second hand.
Mind you, overheating is a very real issue on these sony compact cameras. If you plan on doing long photoshoots in the sun you'd be better off with an A7 iii
I like the stiling of the Sony A7c very much with the EVF out to the very side of the camera, I hope that all future A7/A9 Sony cameras will have this design, but with larger EVF in higher resolution.

I'm really considering this camera, I'm just starting to do more professional work and I'm looking for a full frame camera to upgrade to. I first wanted to upgrade to the a7riii, but I feel like the price is too much considering the lenses I'll buy aswell. So I looked at the a7iii and I've heard so many great things about that camera, however it's a 2018 camera and people are starting to turn away from it. So now when I heard that the a7c is basically a smaller a7iii with a flip screen, plus it's cheeper and a newer model.. it seems like the perfect camera to upgrade to at the moment.
it's not cheaper... the A7iii is still a GREAT camera in 2020. Even the A6000 is still great these days. Fore what you want to do, the A7iii is probably more than you need. Don't fall into the camera craze of needing the next 'new' thing. Something will always be missing...
bigger viewfinder is better for photography (if you use it) also non-selfie screen is faster to adjust for low/high shots,,,,,,,, but a7c is noticeably smaller/lighter & has better AF

It's definitely a vloggers camera first that can do photo on the side. Now I gotta figure if I should wait for the A7iv or grab a A7iii or a used A7riii
I use the A7c with the Sigma 30mm as the main camera on my channel. My secondary angle is shot using a6400 with the Sigma 56 mm (I love this lens! 😍) feel free to check out.
it's easier to start with aps-c (a6600) because of lower cost for body & lenses, I love my a6600 with Sigma 16mm f1.4 lens = great low light performance & lots of bokeh

So, do i "need" 4k 60 and 10bit? If the files look good enough sooc, maybe not. If so, this looks like a great camera. With my s5, i wouldn't dream of shooting anything other than 4k 60 and 30, 10 bit. 1080 doesnt look good. And most color profiles don't look good, you want to shoot log or flat as much as possible, and for vlog you want 10bit. Could be a different story with sony.
Hi guys and sorry for my noob question but i just bought a sony A7c and while i'm tilting it side to side something is moving inside the camera making a click sound. Is it a normal thing ? like a mechanizm is detached or sth... please help :(
Any update on the successor the A7C? 10 bit, 4k60, and proper high bitrate codecs would be nice. I'm not going from my ZV-E10 to an A7C just to still be stuck at 100Mbps for 4k24 video.

New color science? Doesn't A7C make same video quality as A73?

Sigma FP is smaller than this, Canon RP is lighter at 485g vs 509g with battery.

It’s right on the edge. Does what you need it too but you can’t be too aggressive with it.
