Executive 1: "Okay so we need a way to reveal the elephant bird and we need sound effects which ones do we use?" Executive 2: "We could use a small pecking sound." Executive 3: "We could use a noise that just sounds like an elephant." Executive 4: "We could go up to a hatching egg and record whatever sound the egg makes." Executive 1: "Try them all the best one wins" *After the egg hatches and they have the sound* *Plays the sound in front of the other executives* Executive 4: "So what do you think?" Executive 2: "Well..." Executive 3: "Um...it's interesting" Executive 1: "...It's perfect!!! We will put that in the production of the show everyone will love it!" Me: *Never stops barfing*
In our preforming we had the joke that Horton ate his kid. Bc our Horton when they figured out about the elephant bird thing he emidltly said "do I get to eat the child".
We all cried when Gertrude and Horton sang Alone in the Universe(Reprise) I have started to tear up even now listening to it. Horton and Gertrude sang very well together
I remember when our cast for Suessical Jr. WAY back in Middle School (Spring of 2014) heard that egg cracking sound, we all simultaneously yelled "EWWWWW" instead of the actual line. Good times! XD
it was heart warming when Gertrude and Horton sang together they just touch my heart they are in in a wonderful harmony when the entire group sang that was just awesome
Ah, the memories are strong. When in Year 6, around 11-12 years old at the time, I was the Cat in the Hat, and I literally stole the show. Everyone loved me, plus the fact that I got the most claps and cheers during the bows! Definitely the best musical I have ever starred in, and I am still so glad that I was able to play a part in such a great show with a wonderful story full of emotion, humour and heart (I nailed the Neill Armstrong bits as well lol)!
My 8 year old is Horton this year. We saw this production about a month and a half ago in Fullerton, CA, staring Cathy Rigby. Excellent way to begin! Our show is June of this year (2015).
I think they pick the most well received books to get those. This was mostly just a broadway adaptation of his books and while it is very popular now it wasn’t as well received when it first debuted on stage in broadway
i was thing 1, water in it's possible, a hunter, a hurricane pilot for chasing the whos, and a circus animal! our production was a few weeks ago and i miss it so much😞💗
I play Mrs. Mayor and next week we will be performing. At first I was really bummed out but then I took the time to appreciate my role and I love it now, I can't wait to see my costume (I have no idea what it's gonna look like), Mr. Mayor has been absent for practices and lacks the power to perform well and it looks like I will be stealing the spotlight from him 😄 welp, wish me luck!
I sadly didn't get the part, but the two people who play Gertrude are amazing! I got a jungle creature, and the director then gave me the part of Vlad Vladikoff c:
