Graeme: "Anyhow. Ahh, I'm cold, I'm going to..." Me: *Go inside after you've said that - like the 3rd time and then get carried away?😁 Graeme: "...look at that sky. It's gorgeous! Gorgeous afternoon..."
I love watching you and your horses. Mocha breaking the ice really showed the domestics how to do things. I like the empathy you have for your horses and the connections you make with them. I think someone needs to buy you some fingerless gloves for Christmas, I have some and they are brilliant or mittens with the fold down tops so you can still use your fingers
So true Graeme, horses have an amazing capacity for learning and forgiving us our mistakes. What a joy to watch them kick up their heels in the cooler weather! Never ceases to amaze me how fast horses can throw their heads, the boys are like a weird head-dance choreography when they play like that. Get yourself a nice warm cup of coffee and let those frigid digits get toasty.
Today's observation has to do with hesitation. Or rather, the lack thereof. We've talked about patience and intention on this channel; and I'm pretty sure I've commented on your "economy of movement." But I'm sensing another key to your horse whispering ways: lack of hesitation. You either move or you don't. So often humans change their minds or (almost imperceptibly) waver. Given the split second reactions of horses, they undoubtedly pick that up. So when a strange horse meets you for the first time, one thing they don't have to contend with is hesitation. You approach or you stop. In other words, you're predictable.
that is a great observation and very true. This just comes from experience and confidence in what I do regularly. This is vital though and if more people were aware of it then more might be interested in making it happen themselves. Safer and easier for sure.
It's always so much fun watching Horsey play time. Everyone looks gorgeous, I love how playful they all are. Mr. Wilde, he's always excited to get his playtime in with you. His teeth are perfect. It looks like he wore braces for years, just needs whitening, lol
Watched Ronie's story. Deer used to come play with our pony every night. You could tell by the hoof prints they were playing and I'd catch her escaping back, yep, back into her pasture at dawn and the deer disappearing into the bush. I don't think it's very unusual, especially on farms waaaay out in the country like I was growing up
As always, thank you Graeme - for sharing your life with your horses. Always love watching them play and goof around (although I really felt bad for Lena - poor thing).
I was staring up at Yoka ,she was so excited to be in there with the rest and I was waiting patiently for you too get her and you ended the video ☹lol ! I would like so ask how you go about taking them back out of their fun herd play time ,and how do they feel when you do ? Thank You for your video's you are one of my fav's ...I always have a big smile on my face watching them interact with each other and with you. 🙂
She went in right after but I was just too cold at that time to stay out, needed to warm up. The horses have no issue going back, many of them just line up at the gate when I come back out to collect them. It's an understandable pattern for them and there's no place they don't want to be, so they just come along nicely and all that. It's very peaceful.
Horsey time is always a good way of start the morning. Annie is growing up . When she was rolling, we could see how broad her back and rump is getting. she’s very muscular.
Coats are getting thicker, frozen water troughs, frosty breath !! I love seeing winter approaching- I hate the cold - but it looks beautiful !! ❤🤣. Poor Lena , surrounded by clueless fellas 🫤 !
Gracie and Mr. Wilde are looking very fuzzy. Everyone is getting ready for winter. Clever Mocha had fun breaking the ice in the water bucket. The wildies are so smart!
I commented on the other one😁 it's very cold here too.. Although in the North of America, does BC get the benefit of mild winters because of warm currents coming from the Pacific? Compared to other regions of Canada..
What a great shot of Mr Wilde and Annie stood behind, they look awesome, don’t know if you’d said Annie had a muscle knot or something but she moves great , I can only describe it as really loose and easy looking
Hooray! A lovely chilly horsey playtime!! Your place looks lovely and all the horses are getting super fuzzy. I love their winter coats, they look so handsome. Annie and Mocha are getting BIG! I bet they have some draft in them, and I bet Momo will get stockier as she gets older. Has she outgrown Joka yet? When you get your baby wildies in and they are kinda thin and need some groceries put on them, do you ever worry that they will be stunted and it could lead to health problems later down the line? Is that a concern with horses or once they are up to a healthier weight its not a concern anymore? I hope you have a gorgeous day. I always look forward to your videos, they are a big highlight for me. Take care and give Zeus a skritch for me. ;) PS: Peggy was also super clever when it came to dealing with ice!
Thank you very much! She's almost taller than Joka for sure. I do worry as we bring in the runts usually. So far though I think it's gone well. Annie is getting nice and big and Mr. Wilde has done well. We'll see what happens with Mocha!
@@StableHorseTraining Thank you so much for your reply! Well, Mocha seems to be doing really well and growing like crazy. So far so good. Have a gorgeous day!
Thank you for a yet another great video with almost all the horseys, Graeme. Everybody felt a bit discombobulated each in their own personal way. Annie - as per always - being the weirdest. So much character and playfulness. It would be cool if you could film working your magic and breaking the ice with the horse of this lady that you were telling about but oh well. Thank you for filming despite the cold. The weather has been acting up here lately, so yeah... can relate.
You're welcome 😊 I don't tend to share any video of other people or their horses anymore. I didn't take her on as a client anyways. I'll talk about that in a future video though
Always lovely to see the horses interacting together! I am curious! Do you think it’s unhealthy or even dangerous for horses to drink ice cold water? Do you think the body would heat up the water easily once inside the body, since they are so warm?
Yes, it's totally fine for them to drink cold water. Imagine all the dead wild animals out there come winter for about 60% of the earth during the winter time. It's all good :)
Hi there Graeme, talking about teeth, I’d love to clean your horses’ teeth. I speak from 45 years experience of cleaning humans teeth and longing to clean horses teeth. I’d use my ultrasonic ‘beaver tail ‘ tip then coarse pumice polishing paste on a bristle brush finishing with a paste made from oil of cloves on a rubber cup to give a smooth shine to finish. Maybe a peppermint mouthwash afterwards. Oh well, dream on! Weird I know ! UK. LOVE YOUR VIDEOS.
I'm wondering if the thickness of a horse's winter coat depends on the environment in which it lives. Does an Arabian horse, living in Saudi Arabia for example, grow a winter coat at all?
Gracie has rubbed off on everyone!
Love seeing the horses enjoying themselves. 🐴
I just love seeing you interacting with your horses it just makes my day or night but they sure Love and trust you!!
Annie rolls in a warm spot!
Always enjoy your horses get together 💙💙💙💙
I have never seen so fluffy Arabian before. So cute.😊

That last shot of mr wilde, he looks like he was smiling there ❤
He's always smiling 😁
Thanks for spreading some joy.

I'd love to see more horse behaviors and communication.
There are hundreds on this channel. Check the playlists!
It’s 46 degrees over here in Missouri and it’s 7 am time to feed my horses.😂it’s so awesome to watch the horses
Gracie really looks greattttt🙌❤️
If a Canadian says it's cold...! Horses appear to be feeling good today! :)

I'll see what I can do next time 😊

I love horsey playtime, watching them never gets old 😊 I’ve been watching older videos, I was wondering what breeds were Roo and Ohanna?
We don't know what Roo was, but Ohana was part Percheron and thoroughbred I believe.
I commented on the other one😁 it's very cold here too.. Although in the North of America, does BC get the benefit of mild winters because of warm currents coming from the Pacific? Compared to other regions of Canada..
Yes, it's warmer here thanks to the ocean for sure. The mountains block the prairie wind too, so that helps
@@StableHorseTraining yes, the mountains might help too

She has something that seems to just feel really good to rub. Not sure
Seemed like Annie was a little miffed about Mocha kicking her! She was sure full of it this time lol!

It would be!

At one point when he's muzzling the camera, he looks like a .oose! Haha
Mr Wilde ..A.K.A the big beautiful nose 😊❤❤❤
Mr Wilde loves you. If you ever sold or gifted him to someone, it would have to be a person that wants a personal relationship with a horse
I think he'll be with me until one of us dies.

Yes it does and I doubt horses there would be as much as they'd have more sunlight per day kind of thing
👍☺️

Too bad Mr Wilde wasn't all black then you could call him your little shadow as he follows you around.
My sister's horse didn't like me at all
Hey dumb question from a non horse person. Are you not worried one of your female horses could get pregnant?
All of the male horses he owns are "Geldings", which is what castrated(removed testicles) male horses are called.
