How to replace shifter indicator light on Honda Civic 2013

Had a hard time figuring out how to replace my shifter indicator bulb I hope this video helps

Thank you! This bugged me for months and took less than a minute to fix. 2721 bulb from autozone fit fine in 2014 civic. Quarter turn counterclockwise to remove socket from beneath shifter then bulb pulls straight out.

Is the light on only with headlights? Driving my son's. Doesn't show me what gear on console. Bulb was burnt out. Replaced and see on eigh headlights. Have to test daytime tomorrow.

I went to the Honda dealership and asked him to give me the shifter replacement bulb. It was cheap and affordable. Some people have commented below that they used the Sylvania LongLife Mini Bulb 2721

Honda dealer. I don’t have the part number but just ask for the shifter indicator light and give them your year and model number

But how do you take the bulb out of the housing and how do you insert the new one?

Once the lightbulb is free from the shifter then all you gotta do is pull up on the bulb away from its housing and it's as easy as that.

5 or 6 bucks for 2 pack at auto parts store. Bulb size is 74.

74 bulb is a little wider than the Honda OEM bulb. I'd stick with the Honda bulb. Part # 35505-S30-003
