I'm tired of hearing a call to action without direction. Nothing is being done and I don't know what to do. I don't want to just do church. I don't know what to do other than spread the truth of the good news.
First of all, you need to understand what you are fighting for. You need to understand what America is. Eric Metaxas says that America is just an idea. This is false. Nations are defined by race and ethnicity and religion is a part of that. Eric explicitly rejects that notion which makes him 180 degrees wrong. What he is doing is defending the state but not the nation. The State is the idea, but the nation is the people. America is defined by White Anglo Saxon Protestantism. We the people; not we the idea.

That is exactly what we must do individually and together, to preach the good news in season and out of season. We are to stand for God's truth, without wavering, with boldness and confidence and pray that the LORD would give us the ability to do so by the power of the Holy Spirit. We are to remain unspotted by this world. Those in Christ are in this world, but we are not of this world anymore. We are Ambassadors of Christ, and we need to represent Him well. We should never compromise and join worldly ways, we should be holy and set apart for God's purposes. We are the light and salt. We should not hide our lamp under our beds, but put them up high to be seen. We are to follow Christ and not man. We are to bear fruit for God's glory. We are not to let fear stop us, for God does not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. We are to put on the full armor of God and stand firm! We are to accurately handle and divide His complete word of truth (Old and New Testaments) and show ourselves workman approved by God, so that we are fully equipped for every good work. We should not add to or delete from His word, but we are to accurately represent the LORD to the lost. We blaspheme His name when we inaccurately represent Him. We are to use our access to the throne room of God through prayer, and pray diligently according to His will, which is recorded in His word. We are to test the spirit to see whether or not they are from God, and anything that does not line up with the scriptures we are to toss away from us, including false teachers. We should not let our garments become stained by following worldly ways, which is the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh, and the pride of life. We are to walk according to the Spirit, and not according to the flesh. What fellowship does light have with darkness, the answer is none. We are to follow Jesus, and Him alone. We are to be of good courage because our God is with us, He shall never leave us nor forsake us. The gates of hell SHALL NOT prevail against His church. The American Church made an idol of church growth - at any cost. Pastors measure(d) success by how many seats were filled and how fast they would expand. And they made being winsome (one of the idols Eric writes about) the most important behavior of the Christian. Telling the whole truth as depicted in the Bible should be our most important behavior, not watering it down to please the unserious seeker. And badly framed End Times theology doesn't help.

We're starting to get it, I think. We're beginning to understand the concept of loving our neighbors by doing all we can to facilitate the flourishing of families in our communities. We're seeing that this is every bit as much our calling as believers, as the Great Commission. The latter is for the Church and the former is for the individuals that make up the church. Jeremiah 29 lays it out so clearly. Get married, have children, tend the land, seek the welfare of your cities, because when the city thrives, YOU thrive. That's the same Holy Spirit that gave us Matt 28. So let's get to it!

Interesting that you brought up Tim Kellar, as living in Australia we got him secondhand & people were raving about him, so I read one of his books or maybe I heard him on youtube - either way, I picked up what he was saying wasn't Scriptural at all, as far as my understanding of God's Word was & saw a lot of errors in his work & was surprised that he was Presbyterian but since those days I have come to learn that the Presbyterian church in Australia is more in line with the Scottish church & not like the American PCA at all. However, many men in our churches here were still promoting his books which amazed me that they couldn't see the trees for the wood... I only hope that he repented before he died.

I get your point, but I think what Eric was saying is that folks are observing the culture's obsession with undoing themselves and everything around them, and concluding that there's nothing within human beings that accounts for this world-wide obsession with self-destruction. There's no scientific explanation. There has to be some other-worldly force driving this. You've heard folks like Tucker Carson, Russell Brand, and Naomi Wolf say things to this effect, and it's causing them to think more and more about God and the claims of the Bible, and speak openly about it.

I always enjoy listening to Eric but I don’t agree with the concept of the the church being political, as an ecclesiastical body. I strongly believe that the Christian is a citizen of the state and is called to be politically involved, be it voting or be it involved at a higher level. We must be very careful when confusing the authorities or the church and the state. The church has failed. Poltically? As an ecclesiastical authority? No. We have failed in preaching the true gospel, in the pure administration of the sacraments, and in engaging in church discipline.

My spiritual journey had me end up as a JW too. Eventually ended up disfellowshipped during a deep depression. Lost all my friends etc. do I regret it? No...being a JW I learned discipline and how to study the Bible. Two priceless tools. Such an interesting journey it is to pursue Yahweh and Yeshua. Such blessings... God bless us all.

If they are declaring that evil is good, then it is not Christ's church/His body. Jesus never knew them because they practice lawlessness.Jesus is not their LORD. The LORD said to know them by their fruit/deeds/actions. God determines what is good and evil, and it is recorded in His word. Jesus sheep know Him, and a strangers voice they will not hear. If any of His sheep stray, the LORD disciplines them in love and no discipline is pleasant for the time being, but later will yield the fruit of righteousness. If they are not disciplined by the LORD, then they are an illegitimate child, and the reality is that they never belonged to Him. God has given us ways to discern these things, it is recorded in the whole council of God, both the Old and the New Testaments. Christians need to stop neglecting the word of God, read it all yourself and test the spirit.

This was an excellent interview, and although I am not an american Christian (I am a member of the Church, the Holy Orthodox Church, ROCOR,) I decided to listen and am impressed by both your understanding of what it means to be Christian. No matter the Church, we are all called to live our lives as Christ lived His life and no matter how often we fall down we are to get back up in repentance and sorrow for our sins and keep on prevailing over our fallen nature. God gave us through the Bible the laws for life and nothing else matters because everything in life, absolutely everything, is addressed and we, if we are true Christians are compelled to hear His almighty word and to obey. The Church truly is the hospital and the only way we can be saved is to be healed by an absolutely committed obedience to Christ, to goodness, and to repentance. We are all called to speak and act when society at large, the "rulers", is in conflict with the word of God. May He have mercy upon us all.
It's good to study and understand Bible prophecy and we know that God wins and the time seems near. I agree in the meantime we need to speak out against evil, not be deceived, and be ready to be persecuted, but God will give us courage and wisdom and sincere love for our enemies and neighbor.

This is why God told me to pray without ceasing. Thank you, Larry and Eric. This message needs to get out there. I've been screaming the same thing for almost four years now. What Eric said was exactly hitting the nail on the head and I've watched it and known it from the very beginning and it's like Eric said: How can we destroy America? By doing everything the left/Biden is doing. Every single thing he's done has been detrimental and I really don't really believe at this point that Trump can fix it all like it was in four years, especially if they're going to fight him tooth and nail every inch of the way like they did in his first term. It's going to take the American people backing up everything and fighting like the army behind the General if we're to fix it. And even with that it won't truly be fixed, not for generations. No separation of Church and State. The Church needs to be leading all politics - it needs to stand up and be counted in every area of politics. START STANDING UP, SHOUTING OUT, PROTESTING FOR JESUS IN THE STREETS, CHURCH OF JESUS.
I may be a little late to the game but the German church does not exist. The religion of German has its headquarters in Berlin where their current god is the Bundeskanzler and his party. I am hard pressed to even describe if a church exist in Germany, though there are those who are very much believers and followers in Jesus Christ, it escapes me but I believe they live in the shadows. On the other hand if you want to see what is taking over in Germany all you have to do is go to Cologne (Köln) and you get to hear the call to prayer 5 times a day. If there is anything that is more disturbing is the apologue of the frog in a pot of tepid water, eventually getting boiled alive; that is Germany.

Whatever happened to the Episcopal Church in the United States and the Anglican Church in England? There are now many separatist churches springing from the Episcopal and Anglican Churches but the numbers are few. For many cradle Episcopalians the church left them not the other way around.

I'm tired of hearing a call to action without direction. Nothing is being done and I don't know what to do. I don't want to just do church. I don't know what to do other than spread the truth of the good news.
First of all, you need to understand what you are fighting for. You need to understand what America is. Eric Metaxas says that America is just an idea. This is false. Nations are defined by race and ethnicity and religion is a part of that. Eric explicitly rejects that notion which makes him 180 degrees wrong. What he is doing is defending the state but not the nation. The State is the idea, but the nation is the people. America is defined by White Anglo Saxon Protestantism. We the people; not we the idea.

We are to accurately handle and divide His complete word of truth (Old and New Testaments) and show ourselves workman approved by God, so that we are fully equipped for every good work. We should not add to or delete from His word, but we are to accurately represent the LORD to the lost. We blaspheme His name when we inaccurately represent Him. We are to use our access to the throne room of God through prayer, and pray diligently according to His will, which is recorded in His word. We are to test the spirit to see whether or not they are from God, and anything that does not line up with the scriptures we are to toss away from us, including false teachers. We should not let our garments become stained by following worldly ways, which is the lust of the eyes, the lust of the flesh, and the pride of life. We are to walk according to the Spirit, and not according to the flesh. What fellowship does light have with darkness, the answer is none. We are to follow Jesus, and Him alone. We are to be of good courage because our God is with us, He shall never leave us nor forsake us. The gates of hell SHALL NOT prevail against His church. The American Church made an idol of church growth - at any cost. Pastors measure(d) success by how many seats were filled and how fast they would expand. And they made being winsome (one of the idols Eric writes about) the most important behavior of the Christian. Telling the whole truth as depicted in the Bible should be our most important behavior, not watering it down to please the unserious seeker. And badly framed End Times theology doesn't help.

We're starting to get it, I think. We're beginning to understand the concept of loving our neighbors by doing all we can to facilitate the flourishing of families in our communities. We're seeing that this is every bit as much our calling as believers, as the Great Commission. The latter is for the Church and the former is for the individuals that make up the church. Jeremiah 29 lays it out so clearly. Get married, have children, tend the land, seek the welfare of your cities, because when the city thrives, YOU thrive. That's the same Holy Spirit that gave us Matt 28. So let's get to it!

Interesting that you brought up Tim Kellar, as living in Australia we got him secondhand & people were raving about him, so I read one of his books or maybe I heard him on youtube - either way, I picked up what he was saying wasn't Scriptural at all, as far as my understanding of God's Word was & saw a lot of errors in his work & was surprised that he was Presbyterian but since those days I have come to learn that the Presbyterian church in Australia is more in line with the Scottish church & not like the American PCA at all. However, many men in our churches here were still promoting his books which amazed me that they couldn't see the trees for the wood... I only hope that he repented before he died.

New Covenant Whole Gospel: How many modern Christians cannot honestly answer the questions below?
Who is the King of Israel in John 1:49? Is the King of Israel now the Head of the Church, and are we His Body? Who is the “son” that is the “heir” to the land in Matthew 21:37-43? Why did God allow the Romans to destroy the Old Covenant temple and the Old Covenant city, about 40 years after His Son fulfilled the New Covenant promised in Jeremiah 31:31-34 in blood at Calvary?
What the modern Church needs is a New Covenant Revival (Heb. 9:10) in which members of various denominations are willing to re-examine everything they believe and see if it agrees with the Bible, instead of the traditions of men. We need to be like the Bereans. It will be a battle between our flesh and the Holy Spirit. It will not be easy. If you get mad and upset when someone challenges your man-made Bible doctrines, that is your flesh resisting the truth found in God's Word. Nobody can completely understand the Bible unless they understand the relationship between the Old Covenant given to Moses at Mount Sinai and the New Covenant fulfilled in blood at Calvary. What brings all local churches together into one Body under the blood of Christ? The answer is found below.

Who is the seed of the woman promised in Genesis 3:15? What did Paul say about Genesis 12:3 in Galatians 3:8, 3:16? Who is the "son" in Psalm 2? Who is the "suffering servant" of Isaiah 53? Who would fulfill the New Covenant promised in Jeremiah 31:31-34? Who would fulfill the timeline of Daniel chapter 9 before the second temple was destroyed? Why have we not heard this simple Old Testament Gospel preached on Christian television in the United States on a regular basis?
Once a person comes to understand the New Covenant promised to Israel and Judah in Jeremiah 31:31-34, which is found fulfilled by Christ during the first century in Hebrews 8:6-13, and Hebrews 10:16-18, and specifically applied to the Church in 2 Corinthians 3:6-8, and Hebrews 12:22-24, man-made Bible doctrines fall apart.
Let us now learn to preach the whole Gospel until He comes back. The King of Israel is risen from the dead! (John 1:49, Acts 2:36)
We are not come to Mount Sinai in Hebrews 12:18. We are come instead to the New Covenant church of Mount Zion and the blood in Hebrews 12:22-24.
God is not now a “racist”. He has extended His love to all races of people through the New Covenant fulfilled by His Son’s blood at Calvary. The Apostle Paul warned against using “genealogies” in our faith in 1 Tim. 1:4, and Titus 3:9.

This belief of separation has led to giving the corruption of our children over to the state. The state removed the Lord's prayer from schools when my children were young. Then they started teaching evolution and there is no God. And look where we are today!

I get your point, but I think what Eric was saying is that folks are observing the culture's obsession with undoing themselves and everything around them, and concluding that there's nothing within human beings that accounts for this world-wide obsession with self-destruction. There's no scientific explanation. There has to be some other-worldly force driving this. You've heard folks like Tucker Carson, Russell Brand, and Naomi Wolf say things to this effect, and it's causing them to think more and more about God and the claims of the Bible, and speak openly about it.

I always enjoy listening to Eric but I don’t agree with the concept of the the church being political, as an ecclesiastical body. I strongly believe that the Christian is a citizen of the state and is called to be politically involved, be it voting or be it involved at a higher level. We must be very careful when confusing the authorities or the church and the state. The church has failed. Poltically? As an ecclesiastical authority? No. We have failed in preaching the true gospel, in the pure administration of the sacraments, and in engaging in church discipline.

My spiritual journey had me end up as a JW too. Eventually ended up disfellowshipped during a deep depression. Lost all my friends etc. do I regret it? No...being a JW I learned discipline and how to study the Bible. Two priceless tools. Such an interesting journey it is to pursue Yahweh and Yeshua. Such blessings... God bless us all.

The previous generations could identify evil so easily, but when the church itself says that evil is good, then we do have a huge problem.
If they are declaring that evil is good, then it is not Christ's church/His body. Jesus never knew them because they practice lawlessness.Jesus is not their LORD. The LORD said to know them by their fruit/deeds/actions. God determines what is good and evil, and it is recorded in His word. Jesus sheep know Him, and a strangers voice they will not hear. If any of His sheep stray, the LORD disciplines them in love and no discipline is pleasant for the time being, but later will yield the fruit of righteousness. If they are not disciplined by the LORD, then they are an illegitimate child, and the reality is that they never belonged to Him. God has given us ways to discern these things, it is recorded in the whole council of God, both the Old and the New Testaments. Christians need to stop neglecting the word of God, read it all yourself and test the spirit.

This was an excellent interview, and although I am not an american Christian (I am a member of the Church, the Holy Orthodox Church, ROCOR,) I decided to listen and am impressed by both your understanding of what it means to be Christian. No matter the Church, we are all called to live our lives as Christ lived His life and no matter how often we fall down we are to get back up in repentance and sorrow for our sins and keep on prevailing over our fallen nature. God gave us through the Bible the laws for life and nothing else matters because everything in life, absolutely everything, is addressed and we, if we are true Christians are compelled to hear His almighty word and to obey. The Church truly is the hospital and the only way we can be saved is to be healed by an absolutely committed obedience to Christ, to goodness, and to repentance. We are all called to speak and act when society at large, the "rulers", is in conflict with the word of God. May He have mercy upon us all.

This is why God told me to pray without ceasing. Thank you, Larry and Eric. This message needs to get out there. I've been screaming the same thing for almost four years now. What Eric said was exactly hitting the nail on the head and I've watched it and known it from the very beginning and it's like Eric said: How can we destroy America? By doing everything the left/Biden is doing. Every single thing he's done has been detrimental and I really don't really believe at this point that Trump can fix it all like it was in four years, especially if they're going to fight him tooth and nail every inch of the way like they did in his first term. It's going to take the American people backing up everything and fighting like the army behind the General if we're to fix it. And even with that it won't truly be fixed, not for generations. This is a war, and not just a spiritual war, to the death.

This rage against God is part of the End Times. The American Church as stopped praying. A long time ago. The hedges are down and the walls have been breeched. Religion, intellectual Christianity, and the desire to have mega churches has led us astray. We need to get back to praying and fasting. Praying corporately before services begin and at other times. He will answer..WAIT for His answer! He has always, Always answered me and He will answer you. Somtimes the answer is yes, somtimes no or not now. Once, His answer was very unusual like this: "I gave you everthing you need"! I knew exactly what to do and began the next day. Take your faith(vision) outside the walls and :"LIVE YOUR LIGHT"! THATS RIGHT..."LIVE YOUR LIGHT"! GIVE YOUR LIGHT AWAY FOR FREE TO THE NEEDY, PRAY FOR THE SICK, ETC. GO FOR IT!!

I may be a little late to the game but the German church does not exist. The religion of German has its headquarters in Berlin where their current god is the Bundeskanzler and his party. I am hard pressed to even describe if a church exist in Germany, though there are those who are very much believers and followers in Jesus Christ, it escapes me but I believe they live in the shadows. On the other hand if you want to see what is taking over in Germany all you have to do is go to Cologne (Köln) and you get to hear the call to prayer 5 times a day.
If there is anything that is more disturbing is the apologue of the frog in a pot of tepid water, eventually getting boiled alive; that is Germany.

Interesting. I never thought about that perspective. The imagery I had when reading that produced a different picture. Given the imagery used elsewhere , and the amount of time that occurs between events, your perspective is one worth considering.
Also, the devil uses similar tactics throughout the existence of time as he attacks men and women and nations. Which would only add to your "argument".

There are now many separatist churches springing from the Episcopal and Anglican Churches but the numbers are few.
For many cradle Episcopalians the church left them not the other way around.
