some TERMINOLOGIES in INVOLUTE SPUR GEAR
1. PITCH CIRCLE : is the circle representing the original cylinder which transmitted motion by friction.
2. PRESSURE ANGLE : is the angle between the line of action and the common tangent to the pitch circles at the pitch point. it is also known as ANGLE OF OBLIQUITY.
3. ADDENDUM : is the radial height of a tooth above the pitch circle.
4. DEDENDUM : is the radial depth of a tooth below the pitch circle.
5. CLEARANCE: is the difference between the addendum and the dedendum.
