It's wild to see you drive right past my mother's house in Russell's point.. this storm destroyed a lot of lives. But the community is strong and will recover
this is my community the whole south side of lakeveiw is destroyed and part of russel’s point but our community came together we cause it the “lake effect” we come together and become stronger than we were before its amazing what our community has done so far
I am 32 miles south of there around Piqua. We had a tornado warning and strong winds but nothing touched down. I know our little village rallied to help those affected by the tornados there. Its amazing how people can come together in times of need. I know those areas have along way to go.
Does that include the grocery and hardware store? I was going to try to move there a couple of years ago. How about the Bank? Are yu all getting money to rebuild? Take care.
I drive this way for deliveries once a week, and when I saw the debris at 2am I was shook. I didn’t know a storm came through with damage like this. Blessings to all.

I was so surprised at how early that tornado struck, and Ohio doesn't get that many tornadoes each year either.

It's the most important thing is getting the word out to people.....Most people dont listen to radio or TV. The Cell phone is the best method currently. Farmer's watch the weather the most beside storm chasers
I also believe that most folks should have a battery powered Nova radio in their homes as well in that part of the country where the potential for tornadoes is great.

Do they just let anyone be a chaser as long as your willing to let the weather destroy your car, I would think you should of got out and helped someone instead of just driving around trying to take pictures of the destruction I guess anyone can buy a yellow flashing light and a camera and play chaser,to bad I live in Oregon we don't get to many storms unfortunately! @@danielkelchner5467 Yes... Anyone can chase. I would recommend linking up with a known chaser and/or somebody who has experience chasing. Most chaser are willing to help you get started. Safety is isn't as much as a tornado, has it other chasers on the road or others that might prevent you from making safety exists. There is National Weather Service "SPOTTER TRAINING CLASS" offered for FREE. They usually have these classes virtual or in person. Here is for a scheduled by the Wilmington Ohio of the National Weather Service. It's a confirmed 3. My father and I was one of the first reporters when it first touched down. You actually see us in this video fly by this guy. I have videos of confirmed satellites coming off of it and another video of it being a Deadman Walking tornado.

I’m not criticizing, but this video that you took is in Russles Point Lakeview is like five minutes down the road from that and it was destroyed. My mother lives there and I drove through right after the first tornado touchdown. I left my house right as our tornado alert system went off for the second Tornado touchdown that rip through Lakeview trying to get to her. The devastation there was astronomical the homes and buildings and boats and transformers, laying across roads, peoples couches and chairs, and other pieces of their homes, laying all over the place. It was very, very, very emotional, and very, very, very devastating!!

I'm near Akron, was watching this storm, but was more concerned with the one that went through Plymouth, as it's initial path was straight at me before it pushed north.
To me, tornado sirens are eerie. I've never lived in a place that had them. Then again, California, Idaho and Utah aren't known as hotbeds for tornado activity.
I'm from Van Wert ohio and we are no strangers to this kinda thing . We had severe EF4 in the fall of 2002. It was so horrible and tragic, hopefully logan county can recover from this just as fast as we did thoughts and prayers to the 4 victims. It seems like Northwest ohio is Tornado ally or even the intire state of ohio for that matter
Rare when we get above 1 category tornadoes in NE ohio along the lake. Only natural disaster we are familiar with is flooding. When I moved to north columbus and worked in newark, I saw the geography was ideal for a tornado. After living in a rather safe zone my entire life, I can just look at an area and come quickly to the decision that it’s unsafe, and it might not even take much time for disaster to come! It only took a couple of days of extreme rain before countless main roads in my area were permanently closed from roads and bridges washing out, thousands of residents misplaced, and whole estates abandoned.

Whenever you pull over like that, especially on an incline, you should turn off your headlights. Even when on dim, the incline makes them bright to those coming toward you... you're blinding them. Even if you're not on an incline, if you have several lights (like the newer Chevy and gmc) you're still blinding people with your lights.
They have never cleaned up anything at Konneta Rubber factory since the tornado on April 1st 2023. One of these tornados in Wapak is going to kill someone from the flying sheet metal loose on the building. NO EXCUSE!

Being from there, I can tell you, if you are not on the interstate, you better know those backroads and country highways. You can get to St Marys from Sidney in less than half an hour. People think I am crazy for saying I know West Ohio like the back of my hand. They think it is bragging, but you have to know where you are.

I live not that far north from Lima and ibwas covering these storms and when i saw that first PDS warning go out i knew that this was gonna be worse than April 1st of 2023 for Ohio. Thankfully where i live was not affected by any bad storms
Butt dialing 911 really cause alot of trouble. They then have to try and track your call and send an officer out. It takes away time and resources from someone who actually needs help. I'm a former 911 Operator...
I did speak with 911. They informed me that the car up ahead was trapped with power pole and lines on the car. They asked for me to help block the road until rescue and LE could arrive.

I live in Lima so this storm went just to the south of us. But hit people I know. I survived the Dayton tornado so I know first hand got devastating this is.

I'm a big fan of the nation weather center in Norma
I live not that far north from Lima and ibwas covering these storms and when i saw that first PDS warning go out i knew that this was gonna be worse than April 1st of 2023 for Ohio. Thankfully where i live was not affected by any bad storms
Butt dialing 911 really cause alot of trouble. They then have to try and track your call and send an officer out. It takes away time and resources from someone who actually needs help. I'm a former 911 Operator...
I did speak with 911. They informed me that the car up ahead was trapped with power pole and lines on the car. They asked for me to help block the road until rescue and LE could arrive.

about every 10 yrs or so Cincy gets nailed... Mason, Blue Ash, etc
@@StormChaserKipMetcalf yeah but no neighborhood I stay in I was in the middle of hurricane Charley in 04 just by luck ever since then I have an urge to experience every natural weather phenomenon in person not hiding from being blown away, sucked up, burned alive, drowning, or being crushed I have to get first hand with a tornado earthquake tsunami and volcanic eruption call it crazy I call it a dream and adventure

Those tornado warning sirens remind me of the Cold War
I live in Lima so this storm went just to the south of us. But hit people I know. I survived the Dayton tornado so I know first hand got devastating this is.
Had tornadoes in 7 states indiana was one of themgolf size hail

@@StormChaserKipMetcalf outstanding! I lived in Xenia and started storm chasing after our tornado. A hobby I pursued even while in the military for 28 years. I'm getting a bit old for that now but we have you young folks to do it.

I visited a supplier Ihad there in Xenia fora decade, and ride my gold wing there couple times a year. Another Xenia anniversary in 2 weeks. I helped move the NWS from Columbus to Wilmington in 97/98’. Again Thank you!!!
