- PBR World Champion J.B. Mauney surprised 14-year-old Juan Salinas at Ryan Dirteater's Roping For Wishes event in 2016. Salinas overcame a battle with Hodgkin’s lymphoma and made wish through Make-a-Wish Oklahoma to one day meet Mauney.

Me and my husband saw j.b at a has station and he is a down to earth person. He stood and talked to us for about a hour. He is just like everyone else. He has never let his fame get to him. Ride on cowboy. As he said he puts his pants on like everyone else. He's a humble person

This video brought me to tears, which doesn't happen very often. But when J.B. started talking to him it just came a flowing, J.B. is a GREAT BULLRIDER and an even better Man!!

JB is such a nice dude. He did something similar for two little boys who'd lost their father to cancer. Their dad had been a bullrider and they really looked up to JB. Nice guy, nice looking.....his wife and kids are lucky people! Congrats to Juan for beating that horrid cancer; my 17 year old daughter recently went into remission from her's. No child should ever have to go through this. I hope to God they find a cure someday. Kids should be able to live a full life before worrying about getting sick.

I appreciate the parents of that young man as well, everytime JB asked him a question he replied with “yes sir” something that I see slipping away more and more nowadays is manners and respect
JB a two time world champ with over 500 Qualified rides and more than 70 times making 95.25 points told that kid that he was tougher than any bull he’d ever rode. The respect I have for that man only increased way beyond what I had before because he’s such an outstanding man the kindness he displays is what America is made of. Good tough hard working men that are genuine and soft spoken people hats off to the champ 💫💫💫
