The Robin's Nest Hi my new friend I know you’re new on my channel I appreciate you subscribing if I can help let me know I don’t know everything but I know I little love marias garden 🐝🐛🐝🐛🐝
LOVE MEOW MEOW!! Also love the beautiful tropical shirt!! For cacti and succulents, I use Black Gold cactus mix, add bonsai grit, and some charcoal bits. I add Osmocote as needed to the mix...having great success!
Maria, nice to MEOW MEOW again he looks great. You guys give him so much love and he in turn gives it back to you! wonderful to see! Thanks for today's video, you are so fun to watch, and i learn so much from you. I love that you love America and God knows how you grew up in your country. Please do not take offense by what i just said because i don't know anything about you, I just know and feel that you are a wonderful human being! thanks again for sharing your videos. Phil
Philip Tavella Hi Philip thank you for you comments you right you are very smart lady I was never to come to this country we’re eleven in my family my parents have farm cows rental my aunt have a supermarket we get all the food we need my fathers was from Spain very smart but hi never work his parents support us and his all hi did drink day night and beat on my mother’s I was one younger ones and running away that’s why am here I don’t want nothing to do with Mexico bad memories sorry I don’t mean to offend any one love Maria’s lol 😂 fun gardening
Maria, I am from Boston, although born and brought up in East Boston Ma. of Italian parents and grandparents my life was similar to yours. My father was a drunk, beat my mother, and us children. My grandparents gave us food, and money so my mother would take care of us. Three boys and eventually a girl. So even here children suffer as we did! I too have lots of bad memories, but as long as there are people like you in the world others feel your love and feel your kindness and it gives them hope to go on. Well enough of this. thank you again and i hope i get a chance to see or talk with you. I am old enough to be your father at age 75 but I keep loving gardening, and my artwork. still taking courses in art. thanks again, Phil
How sweet you're taking care of meow meow! He was lucky to find you! You need a statue of Saint Francis the patron saint of animals and I think there's a patron saint of plants I can't think of his name or at least he's the patron saint of gardeners. My uncle is a priest for Franciscan for Friar. He loves his plants in his garden when he was pastor of the church he built from the ground up in North Carolina he made sure the church grounds we're beautiful. In fact I think the church won an award from the city for how beautiful the grounds were. He would love you! He would love to talk gardening and plants. He's getting up there in age now he's over 90.
Oh my goodness, I love you so much Maria!! :) You give us such great informative videos and I appreciate you very much. You made me smile so many times while watching this video, especially when you admit liking to play with the soil, me too!! haha Thanks for the video!! :)
HI Maria! Great video! Except...I can neither listen nor write as fast as you talk! So! That means I have to watch & listen to each video multiple times. Simple enough! Right? Yes, sometimes! What I REALLY need to do is USE YOUR main principles like: don't over water = no wet feet, cinnamon = no fungus, Osmocote 14-14-14 slow release 2/yr and ENJOY WHAT YOU DO! (I added the last one because it's very obvious that you "playing in the dirt" brings you joy!) Thank you for this VERY valuable information! 🌾💜
Wow Meow Meow is a big beautiful cat. I love your channel and am learning a lot as I was told a couple of years ago to plant desert roses in same soil that I use for my succulents which I mix myself with compost, perlite and coco peat as well as some small pebbles. I was also told to fertilize my desert roses with every watering in the summer with DunaGro Bloom. I’m going to stock up on osmocote and add that in when I repot them. It will be a lot less work with fertilizing twice a year. Not sure where I can get wood chips but I have access to all the other materials. I recently ordered some pumice to use in place of perlite. Anyway thanks for sharing your knowledge.
Cheryl Breedlove Hi Cheryl I thank for watching my channel every thing you doing sounds very good the only think don’t use to much cocopeat very small amount the reason is because cocopeat speeds up the growth of you desert roses and you want then to grow slowly and get stronger stems and the osmocote 14-14-14- slow release twice a year also protect the root system best price for you osmocote Amazon.com thanks Maria’s garden
Fantastic, Thank You Maria, I am just starting out in Succulents the Planting media is very helpful. I have a bunch of baby Thanksgiving Cactus plants in Black Gold Cactus medium, but I am afraid it is a bit too light for Thanksgiving Cactus, and thank you for the idea of Osmocote I did not think they needed Osmocote 14 14 14. Great information Maria!
Jim Coulter Hi my friend if you’re looking for a succulent mix best to mix you own mix like for example 60% coconut coir 20% perlite 20 % light weight potting soil fertilizer osmocote slow release Epsom salt unscented mix it all very good and you are ready to go thank you Maria’s garden
Hello Maria it wry nice of you to share for us If I don’t use the cactus mix I just used garden soil for the mix is that ok Thanks. Maria can you wear glove to mix you have to protect your hand hehe. Maria can I have the address of your nuresery I want to buy desert rose from you. Thanks.

Ann Stewart the best is cactus soil and apply some fertilizer osmocote 14-14-14 slow release I love this plants a have many different ones this fertilizer you apply only twice a year thank for watching my channel Maria’s garden
I use perlite,Coco peat, osmocote, Epson salt, black cow potting soil for all my plants. I'm planning on getting some cow manure. I'm not sure with that will stink up my apartment.
Ricardo monge hi my friend if you can not find timberlands pine mini nugget you can used orchid mix or 40% peat moss 40% good quality potting soil 20% perlite thank you Maria’s garden
Ann Stewart I don’t think is a good idea coco peat we’ll stretch the succulent to much and they will grow very very fast is not good coco peat is the best for any plants but you need to use small amount I’m not saying is not the coco peat is the best for desert rose ,succulent, plumeria, cactus, and small amount you succulent need light weight soil to grow there root are very small thank you Maria’s garden 🐝🐝🐝
Maria you have compost and cow manure compost. Where do I get the first compost ( next to the peat moss)? I don’t make my own. Is that your own compost and if so please make a video on how to make compost. Thanks!
Pera Ventura Hi my friend best if you mixed you own for example using 50 % coconut coir 20% potting soil 20% perlite 10 % black cow fertilizer a cup of osmocote slow release fertilizer a cup of Epsom salt unscented thank you Maria’s garden
The soil mix is 50%coconut coir 20%potting soil 20%perlite 10% black cow fertilizer a cup of osmocote slow release fertilizer a cup of epsom salt unscented .
