It was also the only US fighter to have a way to reliably use the reliably unreliable US 20mm cannon, since it could basically skip over bad rounds in the belt if it needed to

15:14 Excellent turn by the enemy Yak. Mentioned it some time at this channel but... this is what you should do in turnfights... it's a 3D spatial game, not just 2D... Don't know if you can see it or remember what the maneuver is called but it's basically a corkscrew that you improvise. Notice how he goes from being chased, to head-on-head in just 1 turn and to suddenly being behind. I've done this countless times myself in War Thunder, and been fighting way more nimble planes because they don't use momentum or all dimensions properly. Also did it with a broken wing (Typhoon) once and got 13 kills with a broken wing (missing wingtip). It was arcade though
