Work Out Clothes is one of my all time favourites. I’ve never listened to the actual song but I keep saying ”Pop the molly I’m sweating.” despite there never being a good context for it.

A lot of the reason people (myself included) enjoy the old episodes so much is the original Amir personality. As you guys evolved the character and focused more on the "heartless/psychotic" aspect of him (giving more access to crazier plot devices and dialogue) a lot of the charm of the needy, innocent Amir died off. Not saying the original is better (both these episodes are great for mostly different reasons), but it seems you guys either don't acknowledge the humor of the old dynamic or it just doesn't click with you anymore (probably why it changed in the first place). Good writing and witty zingers are the backbone of comedy, but they aren't everything to why people may enjoy it.
This is exactly it. The old Amir was so hilarious. The new ones are great too, just in a different way.
Yoga is my all time favorite episode tbh! The "So let me get this straight.... you're jealous tha-" "No, youre already wrong" is my fav J&A joke and the one that comes into my mind and makes me laugh most all these years later!

How about “New Voice” and “Earings”? Both of them have Jake being insecure, and those are always priceless.
Honestly I prefer the older dynamic between the characters in videos like yoga over the more argumentative later episodes

I feel like Jake and amir forgot the heart of the old episodes when rewatching. There was a point in the series where they were real "characters" Vs just vessels for jokes, and I think this was the difference between the videos. It's really evident when they try to do anything with heart later on in the series...it just feels disingenuous as the characters are just joke machines at that point. Makes for great comedy, but lacks the charm of the originals. This is super evident in multi part episodes. Stuff like when they move to the 2nd office, the brother series, girlfriend, fired all have legit heart and emotional moments. Even the actual finale, the character interplay isn't really there and there's no real resolution to the best friend arc stuff. It's just funny and that's it really

Yoga is, I think, my favourite Jake and Amir. And they’re both wrong about it. Fight me if you wish.
I actually do prefer Yoga to Work Out Clothes. Work Out Clothes clearly took a lot more effort, it's definitely got more moving parts to it, but there was this fast, flowing style that the early Jake and Amir sketches had where the next joke comes in so quick you've barely had time to react to the last one, that is missing from the more well produced episodes of the later years. My favorite sketch of yours is still Candy which is like the perfect example of that machine gun style joke delivery.
