As an oily girlie living on a tropical island in South Asia, aloe vera gel is my go-to hydrating product. Not only does it hydrate but it also soothes irritation, razor burn, heals insect bites, even mild cuts and burns etc. And it's lightweight and non-greasy and doesn't break me out. No am not talking of the raw gel taken off the plant but a store-bought version, which has a 96% concentration of pure aloe in it.
I use it as well. I live in a humid~ish city with oily combo skin. And sometimes the aloe gel is my only face cream because everything is too much. Or at least for my oily zones. And add an extra cream for the cheeks

Yet I could not find a scientific based everything shower routine video and I hoped you might be interested in doing one? I also read lots of comments under these videos of women who say "I did not know that I need to wash this area with this and that" or "I never really learned how to have a very good hygenic routine" and this made me questioning if even my hygiene routine is enough. I’m curious why you put oil on ur ends and then wash it off? Or oil on your hair while it’s wet? I thought you weren’t supposed to put oil on wet hair cuz it doesn’t penetrate hair when it’s wet due to water and oil not mixing. I've been using the SVR Hyaluronic and B3 Essence, it's the same kinda thick toner, super gentle, SUPER hydrating, first thing I slather on my face morning and night, it's awesome
For me it's completely unnecessary. I wash my face, put toner, serum, and UV protection. Nothing else needed ;) but I get how it can be a nice step to add to a routine;)
it’s basically just another form of toners. it‘s not like the order of toner/essense/ampoule doesn’t really matter as you can even apply multiple layers of all of these
Pyunkang yul and jin jung sung are life... But by far my favorite so far has been peach and lily's wild dew treatment essence. ohmygod it is JUICY AND GLORIOUS.
Cassandra! Off topic but was wondering if you could talk about the new Rhode cleanser coming out soon. All of the ingredients are on the site already. I’ve tried Fenty fat water and it is lovely, but sadly it irritated my dry and sensitive skin. Maybe it’s the fragrance? I love Glow Recipe, and even though their products have fragrance (unless I’m mistaken) I can use their products even when my skin is going through it.

I wanna try the new glow recipe cloudberry toner serum soo bad! I also love the packaging and would definitely reuse -I finally picked up the cloudberry toner from sephora and cant wait to try it! ❤
Fat water = Japanese "lotion" = Korean "toner" or "essence" = American "serum". Tomato tomahto 😂 That being said, I do enjoy that hydrating step in my routine, whatever you want to call it, especially in the winter months when my skin needs a little extra TLC. Hada Labo gokujyun lotion is my go-to. They are all great but I use the white one (they call it "moist" version lol) but I have heard the gold one is awesome for dry skin peeps.
I am currently alternating the pyunkang yul one and glow recepie essences (both i bought after you recommended them. )with occasional some bi mi aha bha pha toner thrown in too at night.
6:43 I’m kinda on the fence about the cloudberry. Only cause Cloudberry has a notoriously difficult to grow in commercial setting reputation. Each plant only produces one cloudberry. I almost feel like the toner should be more expensive just because of the difficulties behind growing it.
I don't think I tried the fat water type of product, but I have tried some toners that have a bit of a viscosity, and three were from nature republic and one was from isntree (my fave is the now discontinued cherry blossom toner from nature republic, the cheapest out of the four too btw). I was not exactly impressed by any of them, although I did like some better than the others. A similar problem I encountered was that these type of toners is that they did not absorb that well and it felt like it just sat on my skin, unless I applied a more watery toner or serum or something like that before the toner to help them absorb better. One of the product that did this very well was vichy mineral89 booster. That serum just glides on and helps absorbs and pulls in everything else that comes after, and feels so cooling too. However, I stopped using it after finishing two bottles because apparently colored glass bottles are impossible to recycle (brown and green bottles are an exception I think).
I have been waiting for Cassandra to review Kaine especially the Kombucha Toner (Since she loves Kombucha) as well the cleanser , ampoule and sunscreen (I heard it is sweat proof)
My "everything shower" day is the weekly showers, because yes I nowadays only shower once a week. It's basically when I wash my hair (unless I exert myself a lot and sweat a ton before) and for this occasion I use a ketaconazole shampoo head to toe OR go get my hair washed at a semi- luxury hair salon and get a scalp massage while I do (in this case I just lather the ketaconazole shampoo on a wet towel and wipe my body all over). A more recent addition to the "everything shower" is using the ordinary glycolic acid toner on my body after the said shower.
@@lukastemberger While I agree that my current state is unhealthy, I really should be after almost one year of being unable to even sleep or eat properly, I disagree with concept of not getting sweaty being equal to not getting enough physical activity. Walking literally exists, and I know very well what walking alone can do for the body and you don't necessarily have physically exert yourself or sweat a lot to get those benefits.
@@msk-qp6fn I'm sorry you went through that. I consider walking to be the bare minimum for staying alive. If you're looking for positive benefits for health, mood and signs of aging, weight training and cardio are essential. Walking is great if you do it an hour a day, but it doesn't increase your heart rate or activate your muscles enough to get actual workout benefits. I hope this year treats you better and you can get the sleep and the mood you need.
@@lukastemberger No worries, I can tell you were coming from a good place. That being said, I am a huge believer in walking. It has been a staple in my family as long as I can remember, as we would go on late night walks for 2~3 hours, and looking back at it now, I can see how that helped us all health wise. My father to this day doesn't do all the weight lifting and cardio workout, but he still walks 2 hours a day every night and is in a good physical condition with only that. After my health deteriorating during Covid19 and especially spiraling down since mid 2022 and just having barely recovered, I have been taking things easy and going back the real basics but doing it well and consistently. Sure I miss swimming and ice skating, but walking is readily available and has never failed me.
@@msk-qp6fn Absolutely, our bodies are machines that are meant to move. As soon as you stop moving, there are many many processes that just stop or malfunction. If there are health issues and walking is the only option, it'll be all you need to not get worse... But I still urge you to try resistance training and cardio whenever you can. I'm 40, I physically feel 25 and I know most of my signs of aging are slowed down just because I workout regularly. Not crazy amount, I don't care about six-packs... Heathy regularly :) Of course, it helps that I'm vegan, Tretinoin is doing wonders to my sun/acne damage I've been carrying since I was a teen... But working out is the nr1 reason.
This year going into winter my skin was extra dry…on a work trip to South Korea I stumbled into an Olive Young 😉 and purchased 2 products that have been game changers. If I want to seal it all in before sunscreen & makeup, I will use a lightweight rich moisturizer & apply Glow recipe Strawberry BHA Pore Smooth Blur Drops. Every step I give 30-60 seconds to set. I know it seems like a lot, but for the dry skin or combo dry skin peeps it’s a game changer!!! I would love to know what you think 💗

I’m saving up for the Haruharu black rice essence and another few from the same vid.
I have to wait a bit though…going through a bit of what you went through in 2023🥺

Fenty for the win
I've been using the SVR Hyaluronic and B3 Essence, it's the same kinda thick toner, super gentle, SUPER hydrating, first thing I slather on my face morning and night, it's awesome
For me it's completely unnecessary. I wash my face, put toner, serum, and UV protection. Nothing else needed ;) but I get how it can be a nice step to add to a routine;)
I mean they’re basically toners so it’s the same thing.
it’s basically just another form of toners. it‘s not like the order of toner/essense/ampoule doesn’t really matter as you can even apply multiple layers of all of these
@@fabuloustobi9684 exactly 💯
Well instead of using toner and serum, you could use one of these and got the job done
@@adrian102exactly
I love these types of product. The Laneige Cream Skin and the Naturie Skin Conditioner are also very good
In Poland we have something like that from Uzdrovisco. I think it works really well and cost is under 10$. Thank you for your work as always❤
I called them bouncy toners. They’ve been around in K beauty for about a decade now and they’re just fantastic.
I am interested in it, but wanted to see first if you approved! Also my question about it is- It has a gentle exfoliant in it, so is it still safe to use on exfoliating days (using a separate exfoliant) Would love your thoughts!
I would love a video about your favorite korean skincare products ❤ I have sensitive oily but dry 40 year old skin that has also some redness/rosecea and big pores.. it gets irritated easy and the wrinkles start to get more visible.. I think its time for korean skincare..
I am running low on my toner and was looking for something and the Pyunkang looks really promising!
It just toner with more thickening agent in the formula and increasing the viscosity of the solution.
My holy grail toner/essence are Pyunkang Yul black tea toner, haru haru black rice Essence and dr ceuracle kombucha essence. Bought these over and over. ❤
Love your energy and honest recommendations.
I’ve tried Fenty fat water and it is lovely, but sadly it irritated my dry and sensitive skin. Maybe it’s the fragrance? I love Glow Recipe, and even though their products have fragrance (unless I’m mistaken) I can use their products even when my skin is going through it.
I've stopped using pyungkang yul when i finished my 4th bottle to give chance to other toners/essences, but it's by far one of my favorites.
Thank you for recommending these! Im looking forward to trying one or two of these.
I'm loving Jin Jung Sung Essence at the moment
I have the Fat Water and the Cloudberry essence toner. I love them both. the Cloudberry is sooo good. I am a dry person.
Never heard of fat water but I’m super excited to try it now for my everything shower! Lol my everything shower always ends with a paper mask and using the remaining serum on my body (got the idea from you 😘). Now I want to use a fat water for my everything shower days 😌
It’s perfect too cause I just finished up some serums and want to try something new!
I knew you were going to say Pyunkang Yul! My absolute fave!
Cassandra! This was a brilliant video idea. Please consider doing a video on emulsions!! Or sometimes referred to as lotions in korea. I love adding them to my routines!!! They are just so lovely and hydrating and feel so amazing to press into the skin and layer with a good fat water! I love the Soon Jung moist emulsion. The Is tree green tea emulsion or the Innisfree balancing with green tea emulsion! Acwell Real aqua balancing lotion! Love these watery lotions!! They make my skincare experience so heavenly!! Lol. Please try out some and let us know what your experience is and which ones you prefer! Love you beautiful! I hope you are doing and feeling great! Xoxo
Great video Cass ❤
I loove the puyunkaul toner i keep it in the fridge❤ i tried the fenty one it wasnt but just not for me.
Don't if it counts, but the torriden soild in all day essence is really nice for barrier care
Jin jung sung soothing essence serum is amazing!
I love the haruharu essence toner, you introduced that product to me and I love it. Everytime I find a bottle at t.j maxx I have to snag it for $9.99. I wanna try the new glow recipe cloudberry toner serum soo bad! I also love the packaging and would definitely reuse
-I finally picked up the cloudberry toner from sephora and cant wait to try it!
Maysama. Especially before red light!
Me * reading the title *
„What the fuk is even that?!“
I love my Rovectin Aqua hyaluronic essence 🥰
I am currently alternating the pyunkang yul one and glow recepie essences (both i bought after you recommended them. )with occasional some bi mi aha bha pha toner thrown in too at night.
You’re looking so so good!Great info as usual!
I always think of hada labo lotions being the first.
Can you do a complete glow recipe review please
Great video as usual! Where does something like Rhode glazing milk fit in, is it like a fat water? or something totally different?
I am not sure if Kaine kombu toner ampoule is a fat water. But it really helped with my skin texture and sensitivity. Plus, it's so hydrating
It looks like your level of physical activity is dangerously unhealthy. If you don't workout at all, your signs of aging will happen a lot faster too.
Heathy regularly :)
Of course, it helps that I'm vegan, Tretinoin is doing wonders to my sun/acne damage I've been carrying since I was a teen... But working out is the nr1 reason.
Its like the Vichy Serum ive been using for years
Love Fenty Fat Water! My daughter does too
I use more than one toner and essence, including the Fenty Fat Water.
This year going into winter my skin was extra dry…on a work trip to South Korea I stumbled into an Olive Young 😉 and purchased 2 products that have been game changers. One is close to a fat water, but is technically a cream fluid, Ceramune Hydrating cream fluid by BOH (Bio Heal) & then the Dr. Jart Vital Hydra Solution Hydro Glow Pads. After double cleanse with Banilo Co Clean It Zero cleansing balm & CeraVe SA Renewing cleanser, I use the Dr. Jart pads, Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Niacinamide Dew Drops, Innisfree Black Tea Youth Enhancing Treatment Essence or Peach & Lily Wild Dew Treatment Essence, BOH Ceramune Hydrating Fluid, then Innisfree Dewy Glow Jelly Cream.
Hiya Sassy Cassie ❤ give us wisdom. I love the Haru Haru so much
Mineral 89 by Vichy is amazing.
Cassandra from the future giving me quizzes >:| I don't even know what fat water was before I clicked on this video!!! (But I've been using the Pyunkang Yul essence toner for years after your advice and still love it! And it lasts for ages.)
My face is so plump and hydrated after using fat water. I am using Fenty but previously used PY.
Great video, never heard of fat waters before.
The Cos De Baha Matrixyl 3000 and Argilerine. THE BEST “fat water” ! Leaves the skin plump, “fat” and kinda disappears more efficiently the wrinkles and and deep lines than other serums
I have dry legs so I only shave every other week, I would definitely use the waterfull for shaving days. for the algorithm! *in british accent*
Hey Cassandra rhode skin just launched a pineapple cleanser that has PGA in it I would love for you to do a video on it
What is an everything shower! I need a video? ❤
What is an everything shower!? Can we get a video please !?
I think Japan already had those thick water/lotion (keshōsui)…. I remember 15 years ago I had a some toner under the genre of “Torori (gooey)”. Rhoto’s Gokujun or Shirojun have thicker ones.
I could b wrong but I feel like CosRX has been doing this for years
Have you tried the numbuzin N3 toner? It is really good, hydrates and gives a soft luminosity to your skin or at least mine. My skin is normal., the HaruHaru did not work for me.
When are you doing a Rhode Review ?
Looks like snail musin…which I love
Looks like the Glow Recipe toner has a lot of fragrance. How has that been for anyone who uses Tretinoin? That’s my only hesitation with trying it.
Can you do a video on hyaluronic acid alternatives for dry skin? I have dry & sensitive skin, and unfortunately HA breaks me out. :( I need that thirst quench that you get from HA, but not HA.
Please teach me what an everything shower is?
the haruharu wonder one has been a solid step in my skincare routine for almost two years. one of the best samples I've ever received
edit: spelling cause I can't spell lol
I also didn’t love the original fat water formula. However, I recently was gifted the milky one and I absolutely love how it feels on my skin, although the fragrance Is just not for me
Does Aveeno’s Calm & Restore oat toner count? It’s milky and almost gel or serum like in texture.
Fenty Fat Water dries the fuck out of my face and breaks me out. I wanted to love it.
It’s like Nivea’s firming gel
I saw the strength in you, when you mentioned your skin was dry because you didn’t wash it properly due to you couldn’t get out of bed.
