This is so beautiful! I was 19 years old when I spent Christmas Eve at that very park about 40 years ago when I was stationed in Yokosuka, Japan on the USS Cochrane DDG-21 with the USS Midway Battle Group. I had so much fun meeting people and enjoying the sights. This really made my day!

The fact is Yokohama (as well as Kawasaki which is another city) are different cities but they are mostly considered and governed as part of Tokyo Metropolitan area or Greater Tokyo.

I am Japanese. I have been living in Yokohama for almost 50 years and am proud of this second largest city in Japan. However, Most of
the foreigners coming to Japan do not know much about Yokohama. They are surprised to get to know that Yokohama is larger than Osaka
by population. I have a such sad feeling that Yokohama is not well known to foreign people and underrated.
I'm visiting Japan for the 2nd time soon and will be staying in Yokohama for the first time. You're correct about foreigners, I was there for 2 months and went to 10 different cities and I met no one that went to Yokohama

Quick comment about all the lights. You will see them in public locations like business districts, entertainmentdistricts, parks etc but you will not see lighting in residential areas like you do in the USA. People generally do not put Christmas lights outside their house and yards in Japan. In the USA you see it in residential areas everywhere.

not so famous as Osaka for foreign visitors. Osaka is the central city of the Kansai region(the western part of Japan) . I suppose that's the reason.
