Many people wrote to ozzie and harriet saying they wish they had parents like them. The family acted like a family of the 1950s and it worked the show lasted 14 years from 1952 to 1966 on tv

yeah and so adorably far away from reality (after watching this episode for the first time i was seriously wondering if the dad mentally ever passed the age of ten - his son is more of an adult than him....where did he grow up? Oz?)

@@walterbosch9198 Nobody had parents like them just like nobody had parents like Ward and June Cleaver or cops like Andy and Barney or hillbillies like Jed and Jethro. IT WAS A TV SHOW!

I remember in those days when going to the movies really meant something, especially on a Saturday afternoon! - LOLOLOL 😂🤣

Now it is meaningless. I went to a matinee last Saturday and there was no meaning in it whatsoever. I complained to the theatre manager and he told me that he didn't mean to be so aggravating.

Really amazing show..Shows an America of the 50s that is long dead and gone..An america where family values, religion and traditions were respected..Counterculture movement of the 60s destroyed everything noble and innocent and introduced decadent materialism...Though I am neither an American nor have lived in America, however still strangely nostalgic about the 🇺🇸 of the 50s..

If you lived in Germany you'd probably be longing for the 1930s when everything was so pleasant there.

@kosmokritikos9299 I will never ever long for that..I am from India and a non white..The 1930s in Germany was a paradise for white non Jewish Germans who according to Hitler were the superior aryan race..I would have been declared an untermenschen and sent to a concentration camp..Sorry,personally I don't find that very appealing...

@@kosmokritikos9299 go troll somewhere else, there was a stronger sense of family values in the 50s. The 60s and Vietnam really changed the course of American history, but we got some awesome rock and roll out of it

total nonsense from "neither an American nor have lived in America" 🤡. Pathetic.

@coraltown1 your statements are even more pathetic as they lack even basic substance..they cannot even be called nonsense...

I must have missed this episode I could have gotten a lot from this episode since I am like David Nelson too. "Being too generous is what I am. Hard to kind but people then feel they can keep asking for favors or money too. A mistake being too generous can be a problem.

LITTLE girl, LITTLE Shirley, LITTLE Georgie Donkle, LITTLE boy, the LITTLE Peterson boy, the neighborhood is awash with abnormally small LITTLE people.

They were abnormally tiny in those days. The Nelsons were about average, but everyone else was small. People of average or greater size today often hit their heads when they enter rooms built in those days by the tiny carpenters they had then.
