Yeah ill never forget that dog video. That was so sad. I live in an area where people dump dogs, and ive found a few and it breaks my heart every time.
16:46 And the reason they're not showing us what the sign said is because it said, "NO MAGNET FISHING." ;) And if I'd pulled out something that looked so like a human head, I'd've had to have excused myself to change underwear.
Just stumbled upon your channel and I love what you’re doing! Very neat stuff! The guns are super interesting 😅 since I’m new here and I apologize in advance for the question because I know you must get it a lot, but what do you do with them? Do you always call law enforcement to report? Wasn’t sure how that works!
@@MotorcityMF-Randydo the police ever get back to you and let you know if a gun you found was used in the commission of a crime? After they examine them, do they return them to you or keep them in evidence for a certain time period?
We appreciate the info. Thank you so much for watching. If you have a second could you comment on the comment from 508Magnetics and vote that he comes to Michigan to collaborate with us on a video. We would appreciate it.
@@MotorcityMF-Randy my bad! Looking forward to more content. Was watching and working in my farm shop. May have to work on my multi tasking. I still feel the same thing about DETROILET though. Tons of 👍 up to ya!! I'd like to try fishing one day. Got a huge reservoir her in my area, and they want to decommission the dam. Heck, Hoffa may be down there!😁

Police have always preferred when we clear a firearm when possible before they arrive for their safety. We recover so many firearms thst in Detroit they have asked me to turn them to any department I want before leaving the city.
You should realize that the entertainment value of magnet fishing is not the most important part. While many people throw ferrous objects in the water out of stupidity or disrespect for the nature, some get rid of stuff used for nefarious purposes. Thefts, robberies, murders, etc. When you stumble on such objects, you must NOT mess with them because you can destroy evidence. That could make the difference between solving a cold case and never know who murdered another person. Normally it should be city hall's duty to clean the body of waters of all objects thrown into the water. I am positive that many cars with bodies inside could be found, many weapons used in murders, many bodies tied up with heavy weights are still underwater. Powerful magnets should be attached to boats to recover important evidence or at least to clean the body of water. How about changing your habits for a more useful purpose?
We have turned in 112 firearms to police as well as recovered 9 potentially explosive devices that have also been turned over to the authorities to keep others out of potential harm. I think we will keep doing what we are doing. Would we like to do it from a boat? Yes. Do we have a boat to do it from? No. I’m sorry if I took your comment in a manner it wasn’t intended. But we do the right thing when we are supposed to. There are plenty of others who just do it for entertainment.
@@MotorcityMF-Randy You understood only in part what I wanted to convey to you. I will rephrase. 1) Messing with any weapon found. I saw that you took a knife and tried to open a cover to see whatever. WRONG. Correct is to try touching it as less as possible, put it in a safe position and place, call the cops. No checking of any kind. No sticking tools in them. No testing for explosives or bullets. No cleaning them at all to preserve any traces. 2) Your purpose. "Magnet hunting" doesn't sound like your main purpose is to find suspect objects. You show how you find all kind of metallic trash and people watch because they are curious what is underwater. That is entertainment for your subscribers. 3) Collecting underwater metallic suspect objects on a bigger scale. I didn't say YOU should do that, or buy a boat and tools. It should be the job for the police or city authorities. For cleaning the body of waters and for finding objects used in crimes. In my country the city went to an extra miles and drained a medium size channel (2 miles) temporarily. They found 24 bodies. If you would have plenty of money to do that in their place, that might make a huge difference. There are tens of thousands of families who have relatives dissappeared for many years, or don't know who killed them for not having the murder weapon. Just my 2 cents.
The authorities that we have dealt with don’t even show interest in the knives we find. In a year and a half they have only ever taken one knife. Any fingerprints that may have been on the weapons we find would be long gone fingerprints are gone in about 15 days. We do attempt to clear the weapon so it is safe for us as well as law enforcement to handle. We keep weapons in a bucket of water from the area it’s found in until it’s turned over to the police. Our handling it isn’t removing possible evidence. We preserve it in the way we were told by the police to do so that it may help give someone possible closure. I hope we never find a missing person. That would be the worst. I do appreciate you watching and your opinion.
Comment here is you want me to go to Detroit and Magnet Fish with Jason and Randy! 👇👇👇
Josh get over here. Let’s make it happen.

I thought they looked a little like meat hooks
@MotorCityMagnetFishers tree steps are used in hunting - not meat hooks, those are different :)
Ok, it’s taken me 5 days but I’m all caught up 🤩
