Years ago I attended a Sexaholics Anonymous group for a full year. At the beginning of each meeting, we were expected to say our names, say that we were addicts, and then how long we had been sober. Every Sunday night I heard over half the group announce that they had been sober for three or four days. The fact that they couldn't maintain their sobriety for more than a week means that they were making no progress whatsoever.
I even tried to join these groups online but honestly it didn't hard. When we read in scripture we see the power of God casting out demons. Simon Peter was filled with the Holy Spirit that even his shadow would heal people. That same spirit is available to those who seek it. God can set us free miraculously
Great msg. I am a Messianic Jew as do not care for terms like Jesus and Lord or G-d but I look for the similarities not the differences. Sold msg. We are free in Messiah Yahshua Hamashisch who gives us strength but we need to have an active spiritual life. 1 thing that I do like about the 12 step groups as that are very structured. Even though they do preach "half truths", that's something we do need. Seems like most Messiah centered groups have a tendency to be very unorganized. This was a great msg. Everyone’s story isn’t the same. I met God in AA and working the steps brought me to a new way of life through Jesus. I was ready. Not every group operates the same.

Absolutely pathetic. Did they have you also describe your relapses in graphic, brutal detail because that happened to me.
