It is free but WG literally said "here have a tank from 2017 with no stat changes and that we have nerfed mechanically" it just doesn't keep pace with tanks now days.
It was visible you were tired skill, but in that last game rng treated you like kaku for sure (E8, IS2, Panther and td shots...). I think it's tank made for melee range combat with ramming build - just to fool around, eat some light tanks and surprise sturdier ones with ramming supported with 10 meters distance shot.
With shells going 400 m/s you have an arta-like shell trajectory, so you can try to loop shots over obstacles in commander view. It worked perfectly on Alecto. Should work fine on this little beast as well. :D
With the well deserved tokens you can buy a bunch of credits and credit boosters at least. Although frankly if you've been with the game for more than 3 years I hope you brought premium at least once...
I quite like the Super Hellcat surprisingly. It is way more agile than Hellcat and the gun handling is also much better. Penetration rly sucks though. Hellcat has better gold pen and is a tier lower :D
They are not creative enough to come up with any new tier 6 so they just copied an already enysting tank and put a gun that they remowed from it earlier........ or shortly they are lazy
They probably planned that a year ahead and some other Team had the brilliant idea to rework HE and no one had the idea to tell them, so they are stuck with a lame duck
I met this tank the first time yesterday on Mines tier 7 and it slaughters everyone in mid with 3k damage and 2k exp. I guess it's one of the "extremely unreliable but could have one hilarious games if you're really lucky" tank
i mean i love skill, but i feel like he tried to snapshot evrerything, at least in the end. no time to aim or anything, autoaim on the ARL TD while moving instead of stopping for one sec and aim. i mean he is and will always be better than me in this game, but the tilt seemed to get too big for focus. :D and yes i know i come across as a backseat gamer biatch, im sorry.

I put bounty equipment on it. Vstab, vents and the thing to make aim circle smaller. I had food and a four skill crew and I ran around having a blast. Aced it in the first day. Spammed a lot of gold shots at the right times. I think this tank can be dangerous as hell.
I remember using this tank in clan battles. Technic to use in standard battle: wait till last quarter of the battle to go behind and eliminate rest of the enemy tanks (till that just spot and don't sell your position for one shot) , always be on the side where is easier to go behind enemy lines, never act like hero, goals: 1-eliminate enemy light tanks, 2-eliminate enemy arty, 3- surprise enemy medium tanks from behind, 4- search for lonely heavy tank, immobilize him than kill him, save your arty from kamikaze enemy scouts. Remember: the map is your best friend! Oh yes, you are not a sniper, and it is not a Russian derp gun so better do not try to snipe but if you do aim for top of the cupola.

I used to play the old one VK 28.01 and had nice crew. Then I bought premium tank T8 BlackDog and I still have the same crew trained for VK in the Black Dog with now 4+ skills because I didnt want to continue that line so I am looking forward to get it and give it a go.
Actually with such trajectory of shells I believe you can pen lot of vehicles with HE. This one seems quite fun for me at least. It ain't good, but it's free and unique.

You need to shoot ahead and above targets if you don't fully aim because you get drop off from low velocity munitions. Even fully aimed you need a greater lead due to low velocity ammo. The other issue is War Gamming with the extreme nerfing of HE which is not realistic to the true ballistic reality.
This tank used to be the worst of the three Tier VI top tier scouts. But I loved it for being different. This tank is going to be the worst of the three Tier VI well deserved reward scouts. But I will love it for being different.
In the post HE Nerf world, I suppose this tank would make a good little scout. The gun seems to me to be a self defense point blank range shot weapon if you get spotted while passive scouting.

VK is a LT and there fore in the game, is a scout, first. Only after that, can the VK go after single tanks and get in their face because the gun is very poor accuracy at distance. The last game, spotting from the bush is, IMO, mandatory.
I had a good chuckle at Skill getting annoyed, knowing that his four battles in this tank looked like most of my battles in any tank, but without the spotting assistance damage.
I played only one game to get the crew stick into it and kind of have a taste what it's all about. I never liked derp guns anyway so I kind of knew beforehand that it's not going to be my cup of tea, but still hats off for WG for giving me free stuff (for all the money I've spent for this game). :D
Given that the gun has a high arc/trajectory, isn't HEAT going to be worse at long range? Since a hit at long range is going to be at an angle, rather than the impact against flat armour which the HEAT is best for. I played the derp E2 a lot and generally found HEAT to be useless as flanking for side armour is difficult in such a slow beast.
If you min-max for accuracy with bond+bounty equipment (bounty aiming, + bond vents/stabs), food, nearly all the skills (to buff accuracy, camo + view range), aiming directive and the field mods, it drops from 0.53 to 0.42 accuracy (with hidden dispersions going from 0.14, 0.14, 0.16 to 0.10, 0.10, 0.10). Yeah yeah it's still not great for sniping, but I'll be damned if I don't try. It sounds so stupid it might actually work.
The Super Hellcat and the T-50 were actual rewards. The 28.01 DERP is what we deserve for continuing to play this game making those pr1k5 rich. PROST! Oops, I mean cheers!
After the HE nerf I played a couple of games with derp guns and ditched my Pz IV ausf. H KV-2 M4A1 Sherman SU 152 . I'm thinking of re-buying the SU 152 though....
There's one thing I can say about the Well Deserved Reward - now that there are four vehicles on the list, was it really necessary that this year's be another light tank? Does WG think light tank play is all we are nostalgic for? Don't get me wrong, I'm grateful for a reward tank that is actually fun to play in a tier that I don't feel guilty about. But there are many other vehicles that have lost iconic status in the game as changes have rolled out. They could revisit the KV-1S with the good 122mm, set it at T7. They could remake the old VK 36.01 (H) as the dominant T6 MEDIUM tank it used to be. Those are just two ideas that jump to mind before the VK 28.01 ever would have.
So far we got 3 lights and a TD. I'd really like a medium next time. Or an arty, for a joke. It'd be like WG going: "Well done! You stuck with us for 9 years, here's a paper SPG! Aren't you glad you stayed on? Say 'Thank you'!" On the other hand, I'd like a German Flakbus, that'd be cool.

VK 28.01 105 (ie: it was the vk 28.01 with 2 kinds of gun including the 105 derp) is a very special one, we need to get used to low shell velocity by playing lots of game, but i am sure you will score very nice hits when you'll have the timing. Also replace rammer with anti fire moduls (this tank is about alpha and ram and was known to burn a lot). This tank is very good against US/British Ass if you see what i mean. Yeah HE Rework is very strange now (you must pen the Hellcat climbing the hill with an overmatching 105 mm gun) Hope it helps, but i am sure you will have fun once all will be set up and once' you'll get used to.
A cool looking tank, Mk.IV-Panther hybrid, and I like it as a gift, but as a playable gift-tank it rates behind the T-50-2, Super Hellcat and the Super Chaffee. It's like the Tier X Rheinmetall light tank, too big with a low velocity gun. I'll try to survive to the end of the battles and close-range derp the enemy one-shotables.
At least u dont have this kind of experience with Grille or e50m, cause this is how ur session reminds me to those tanks. I loved the VK back in the Days with all my heart and its the light tank thst let me fell in love with lights at all. But we will see how the HE changes work on it now.
Skill, use 3rd person aiming with derp guns. In some occasions, that way you can lob a shot over an obstacle that otherwise you wouldn't be able to. On the other hand, after HE nerf, derp guns are more or less useless, so who cares...
I never had it before, I got it this year. I only went out and played 1 battle, I enjoyed the Derp but I but, I don't expect this will be something I play a lot.
80 battles, 3 gunmarks on it. Works pretty well even for today. I don't use gun rammer because only 1 second less reload. You are derping so much and aiming so long that 1 second isn't interesting. Also when you circle the enemy he can't do anything. Instead of rammer I use item to make the engine system quiet and take the extra camo. Have 40+ camo on it.
I just got my third mark of excellence with a win rate of over 61%. I'm usually more of the 53% win rate type. Yes I shot a lot of HEAT and yes I burned occasionally but the tank is a lot of fun. Maybe he needs a little more time to get used to it.
Somehow I really really like this tank and I never played GE lights before so it's not nostalgia. If it were, I would be in love with t-50-2 which has my most fond memories of the game ( because, frankly, with old physics it was a proper troll ) and since that's not able to live up to the memories due to the new engine and all, I been playing this thing for a couple of games. And I like that the gun is that derpy 'useless at range' thing because it keeps me from actually trying to shoot while I'm spotting just because I get bored my inept team is unable to do so themselves. With this shell arc it's pretty easy to just go for the knife range engagements and ow bow especially in mid to late game where you alpha seems to work against the already damaged enemies it's such a nice experience. Off course, that means I have just been very lucky I had such good teams as doubt I would enjoy it as much as if I had to do something different.
Hi Skill! I just loved this vehicle when it was in the techtree with 105mm. I threemarked it in that time. It feels like the small baby a E50 had with a T49. Derpgun and heavy enough to ram-kill other light tanks. I was really angry when WG stole this gun from the techtree version. Please be nice to this small abomination. Greetings!

VK 28.01 105 (ie: it was the vk 28.01 with 2 kinds of gun including the 105 derp) is a very special one, we need to get used to low shell velocity by playing lots of game, but i am sure you will score very nice hits when you'll have the timing. Also replace rammer with anti fire moduls (this tank is about alpha and ram and was known to burn a lot). This tank is very good against US/British Ass if you see what i mean. Yeah HE Rework is very strange now (you must pen the Hellcat climbing the hill with an overmatching 105 mm gun) Hope it helps, but i am sure you will have fun once all will be set up and once' you'll get used to.
A cool looking tank, Mk.IV-Panther hybrid, and I like it as a gift, but as a playable gift-tank it rates behind the T-50-2, Super Hellcat and the Super Chaffee. It's like the Tier X Rheinmetall light tank, too big with a low velocity gun.
I'll try to survive to the end of the battles and close-range derp the enemy one-shotables.

well your main objective is spotting not doing dmg so having weak gun is not that big of an issue.
but as said, there are better light tanks for that then lol
At least u dont have this kind of experience with Grille or e50m, cause this is how ur session reminds me to those tanks. I loved the VK back in the Days with all my heart and its the light tank thst let me fell in love with lights at all. But we will see how the HE changes work on it now.
Skill, use 3rd person aiming with derp guns. In some occasions, that way you can lob a shot over an obstacle that otherwise you wouldn't be able to.
On the other hand, after HE nerf, derp guns are more or less useless, so who cares...
I never had it before, I got it this year. I only went out and played 1 battle, I enjoyed the Derp but I but, I don't expect this will be something I play a lot.

80 battles, 3 gunmarks on it. Works pretty well even for today. I don't use gun rammer because only 1 second less reload. You are derping so much and aiming so long that 1 second isn't interesting. Also when you circle the enemy he can't do anything. Instead of rammer I use item to make the engine system quiet and take the extra camo. Have 40+ camo on it.

I just got my third mark of excellence with a win rate of over 61%. I'm usually more of the 53% win rate type. Yes I shot a lot of HEAT and yes I burned occasionally but the tank is a lot of fun. Maybe he needs a little more time to get used to it.

Somehow I really really like this tank and I never played GE lights before so it's not nostalgia. If it were, I would be in love with t-50-2 which has my most fond memories of the game ( because, frankly, with old physics it was a proper troll ) and since that's not able to live up to the memories due to the new engine and all, I been playing this thing for a couple of games. And I like that the gun is that derpy 'useless at range' thing because it keeps me from actually trying to shoot while I'm spotting just because I get bored my inept team is unable to do so themselves. With this shell arc it's pretty easy to just go for the knife range engagements and ow bow especially in mid to late game where you alpha seems to work against the already damaged enemies it's such a nice experience. Off course, that means I have just been very lucky I had such good teams as doubt I would enjoy it as much as if I had to do something different.

I just loved this vehicle when it was in the techtree with 105mm. I threemarked it in that time.
It feels like the small baby a E50 had with a T49. Derpgun and heavy enough to ram-kill other light tanks.
I was really angry when WG stole this gun from the techtree version.
