Im so glad i found this channel... ive downloaded.. (i mean bought...*cough.) just about every samurai film i could find. Ive only watched Sanjuro and Yojimbo.. both awesome.. but i dont know what to watch next. Ran? Rashoman? Zatoitchi? Throne of blood? Ahhhh!!

      Thank you!
With Akira kurosawa I have a weird way of picking when I want to watch something, the weather. Rashomon, throne of blood and seven samurai on rainy days, ikiru when it's snowing, and ran, Kagemusha and hidden fortress on sunny warm days. You should prioritize watching all of Akira Kurosawa's samurai films before anything else

you can't go wrong with any of them, but RAN is a good place to start. its maybe my favourite movie of all time

I would find the best Blu-ray you can of RAN a torrent is not going to do it justice.

I am glad you covered this film, I have been putting off watching it but you convinced me to bump it up in the cue. On a side note I just finished watching Bunta Sugawara in Cold Wind Monjiro 1-2. I don't know anything about the films production but it shares a lot with another series I just viewed "The Trail of Blood Trilogy". I don't see anyone else reviewing these might want to check em out.

I will have to look for it. I have the Criterion Channel app, so hopefully, it's on there. This one is currently, and I just watched it. It's more relevant in today's world than it was when it was made, I believe.
