Mine is going on 4 years and I beat on it. Best knife I've owned. Tight as day one and very slick. Just a no brainier to buy this knife. Very solid knife for not crazy money... I'm extreme satisfied.
@@Chris-fj2jk the only screws that I tighten was the pocket clip screws. Those I had to locktite. The actual main structural screws not at all. I did not baby it either. To be fully honest as of about six months ago it's not my EDC. I've gone old school dad style with a swiss army huntsman plus.... It's nearly as good as my leatherman wave but much slimmer and lighter and offers many features I like for day to day stuff plus bushcrafting stuff. I suggest watching since ilmmer felix YT vids to get a since of how capable Swiss knives are. They aren't "cool" nor "tactical" but I'm surprised at how great they really are for a vast amount of tasks. The Ken Onion though is an amazing knife for just a blade and honestly not sure you could do much better for the money (I've owned many knives but this lower to mid range knife is pretty dang good). I stopped carrying the KO since I didn't want to carry a multi tool plus a knife and a knife only didn't fit my life style. I love my leatherman wave plus but it's heavy in summer clothing. The Swiss knives are a weird mix of stuff that works. However, if you are looking for purely a blade that opens lightening fast and super durable the KO is great.
Nice review. I love my leek. I carry it in dress pants to work etc. Rat 1 on my day off when I'm more likely to be outdoors or needing the bigger blade. I really enjoy your videos!
Great review! I bought a Kershaw Blur a few months back. It was the Limited Stonewashed Tanto blade made from BDZ-1 Carpenter steel. I've loved it from the start. The blade wasn't just sharp, but the sharpest out of the box knife I've ever experienced. And though I'm certainly no knife guru, I have a little experience. My collection runs in the 150 +/- area, and the Blur definitely impressed and continues to impress. You're right when you say the knife is simply fun to play with. The thumb studs on mine are great for deployment but could use a slight smoothing on the outer edges with a file. I haven't done mine yet as I don't EDC the Blur and didn't want to take the chance on scratching it...lol. And that's not because it wouldn't be a great EDC. On the contrary. It's because I am EDCing another blade to keep from scratching the Blur. I like the Blur so much, I am thinking about buying another with the S30V drop point blade. I keep about 6-8 knives close by my desk to play with at all times. I don't usually duplicate knife buys unless I really really find one I like a lot. The Blur is definitely one of those. I look forward to adding another Blur as soon as the money supply will allow. Although I haven't put mine through a lot of very hard use, I would recommend the Blur. You will not be disappointed.
Update: I added the Blur S30V in December. It met and exceeded all expectations. Razor sharp out of the box.I can tell the blade is slightly heavier than the Tanto in BDZ-1. This is due to the difference in steel and size of the drop point blade. The knife bucks slightly more on deployment with this version, only adding to the enjoyment and a rock solid lock up. One thing I do differently than most, is remove the pocket clip. Although the Blur has a very well designed pocket clip, I prefer in pocket carry with my folders. Also I like the feel of most knives without the clip being in the way of a full contact grip with the scales. If you're on the fence about an EDC folder, don't hesitate to get the Blur. No matter what the style or color, you'll love it!
This video is forever years old, but you asked for a recommendation, and I’ve got one. I’ve been carrying a brown Ken Onion Wrinkle for over a decade now, and the thing is my perfect EDC. Find one and play with it, I hope you like it.
nice review, subscribed. the blur--an oldie but goodie. i think kershaw and zero tolerance reached its zenith with ken onion designs. wish they would bring them back with the more premium steels available today. just ordered the blur in s30v!
I own the Black Blur - Overall it is a good design and a solid EDC choice, however i find myself carrying the OKC RAT 1 far more often due to its greater simplicity and (perceived) ruggedness. The spring assisted "Speed Safe" feature is something which I don't find terribly useful, and I don't prefer the idea of having a spring loaded blade in my pocket either. Excellent review as always!
I've carried a Blur for several years (maybe 7 or 8). While I dislike recurve blades, the knife is otherwise near perfect. Lightening fast deployment. s30v steel holds a good edge. The thumb stud is a little sharp so I dont recommend back pocket carry as it might wear out your upholstery. Highly recommend.
BlackOwlOutdoors I've been carrying Benchmade Griptillians, especially the Doug Ritter RSK MSK1 www.dougritter.com/dr_rsk_mk1.htm. I think you might enjoy checking that one out.
Great review Krik. I really like the ability to go tip up. I know that is a big discussion topic now, I just like it better. I've been looking for a new EDC knife since I misplaced my Benchmade. I will have to check this one out. Thanks, Bryan
You're welcome Bryan. And you're right, there's a lot of discussion about which way is better to carry a folder. Like I said in the video, I go both ways. I don't really think one is better, or faster than the other. I think it just has to do with how and where you initially grab the knife before you take it out of the pocket. -Krik
Nice review. Since you asked about any suggestions for knives. I think you might like the knife that is currently my EDC. It's the Enzo Birk 75 with a s30v scandi ground blade and curly birch handles. Its a prefect size edc and a great all around knife, good fit and finish. I too used to carry the same model Rat 2 as you do and this has replaced it completely. It covers all the bases.
considering the thumb ramp and finger groove of rat2 are better (holds hand in place if stabbing forward, do not need to worry about cutting fingers) The price point of Rat2 (different steels) is more pocket friendly... I will stay with the Rat2. I would like to see this steel (s30v) or the s10v used on the Rat2 at a the $60 price point or similar price to the Buck Vantage Pro. I try to keep my EDC overall carry items limited to $200 budget.... a more expensive knife means maybe less beneficial flashlight so the $30-$40 price range for each item is my sweet spot.
I like the looks and I think the quality of it. If the clip is rough on your pant pockets don't sue Kershaw, sue Kmart, because Kmart sucks, according to Charlie Babbot from Rainman. 😂
Mine is going on 4 years and I beat on it.
Best knife I've owned. Tight as day one and very slick. Just a no brainier to buy this knife.
Very solid knife for not crazy money... I'm extreme satisfied.
Have you ever had to tighten any screws on it at all?
@@Chris-fj2jk the only screws that I tighten was the pocket clip screws. Those I had to locktite. The actual main structural screws not at all. I did not baby it either.

i've carried a few different kershaw blurs and i've loved them all. plus you can't beat kershaws customer service
Legendary, just ordered one myself - over 10 years later.
I got this very knife with the s30v steel for $55, I think it was a pretty sweet deal.
I paid $116!
The Blur S30V and the Para2 are my most used EDC knifes. Both are great knifes.
Nice review. I love my leek. I carry it in dress pants to work etc. Rat 1 on my day off when I'm more likely to be outdoors or needing the bigger blade. I really enjoy your videos!
I'm an old man and carry a leek. I gifted my grandson a blur--lol
I have a Leek and a Ripple, and I carry the Ripple in dress clothes. Leek is too…tight, and feisty to close. Ripple is butter
Kershaw has really become one of my favorite blade makers lately. Thanks for the review guys

Very smart rewiev ! Think i must put the "Blur" on my personal Knife-Wishlist :)
THX for showing

I wish makers thought of us left handed people more often with pocket clips but nice lookin knife, nice vid too
I have the exact same knife and love it
Great review. Good looking pocket knife. Thanks.
Krik I think you would like the kershaw skyline because it's closer to the size of the rat 2 and has great 14C28N steel
nice review, subscribed. the blur--an oldie but goodie. i think kershaw and zero tolerance reached its zenith with ken onion designs. wish they would bring them back with the more premium steels available today. just ordered the blur in s30v!
Can you do a video on all your favorites fixed blade knives and all your favorites folding knives ? It would be cool !
That's a great price for s30v. If you're interested in kershaws you can't go wrong with the cryo or leek
Who else misses these guys 😪😪

I was worried you guys were done with knife reviews! Awesome
Never! Yea, it's been a while for a knife video. I have my eye on a few others at the moment. Any knives you're smitten with at the moment? -Krik
BlackOwlOutdoors Smitten with the Boker Vox Bob, and the ESEE 6, you looking forward to the new line of ESEE knives?
BlackOwlOutdoors I've been carrying Benchmade Griptillians, especially the Doug Ritter RSK MSK1 www.dougritter.com/dr_rsk_mk1.htm. I think you might enjoy checking that one out.
Nice review. Odd question. What kind of jacket is that?
You should do some spyderco knives reviews
great work

I never heard of that knife. But dang, it seems pretty awesome. I've been carrying the RAT 2 just because of its price. -Krik
I cant complain about the rat. Its a darn good knife. The buck vantage series of knives are all good too
Great knife! What kind of flannel jacket is that?
It's an old Woolrich coat. Are you familiar with them? -Krik
No I can't say that I am. It looks awesome and it's been in many of your previous videos. Thanks for replying!
What is your current edc knife?
hiphop909 RAT 2. -Krik

everyone makes such a big deal about the clips, the 1st thing I do is take me off
Had to de-assist it, because it started rattling inside.
