  • For some reason, people seem to think you need a large growing area to plant corn. You can grow corn in your container garden!

    I once got some corn and fertilizer from the local gardening center. Seagull fertilizer....had 50 massive ears in a bed 4ft by 6ft

    Corn will grow anywhere you planted as long as the temperature is appropriate. Tight space or not. And you will get a harvest if you take good care of it lol.

    What is cession planting?

  • @NVMe420

    would have been better to plant in 2 straight rows side by side for pollination, and support , plus you can just run one rope along the outside edge to hold it all from blowing over in a storm.

    I've tried as big as a 5ft by 10ft corn planting and still it wasn't enough for a good pollination. I'm convinced now that its gotta be at least a 20ft by 20ft to get anything from it other than empty ears.

      Hand pollinate your plants 😊

      If your not growing an acre you have to hand pollinate corn and its easy

    Why in a circle? Is that for design or to increase pollination? I am running the three sisters system this year. Corn, squash and beans..

    • @FaithFirstFishing
      @FaithFirstFishing ปีที่แล้ว +1

      When the wind blows the pollen, it sort of blows around to the other stalks in the circle. That’s my reasoning; however, it might not be his.

      Rows in better. Short rows, but many rows.
      In his garden, i would do like 20-30 rows of 3 corn plants.

      @justowningu 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Of course. If you have soil, sun, and water (or enough rain) you can grow any fruit/vegetables suitable for your climate.

  • @loriparks8657
    @loriparks8657 ปีที่แล้ว

    You can grow corn and anywhere I seen corn growing in plastic milk crates

    • @justowningu
      @justowningu 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It's not easy in small spaces due to the fact that corn is a heavy feeder and also is wind pollinated. That's why you typically see it grown in a 10'x'10' or larger block. With smaller corn plantings you often see poor pollination and small/incomplete cobs.
