I'm kind of disappointed that the game seems to only borrow surface level things from the novella and not use the themes of stuff like isolation and abandonment. I wonder if any of the game designers actually read the work they used as inspiration?
I had the same thought. Imagine the worldbuilding potential of a Kafka-esque bug society. Then imagine wasting it by just making their society mimic ours. Damn shame.

@@AstralMarmot The fact that the bug society is just a bug version of human society really goes to show that the creators missed the part about how Gregor Samsa becomes less and less human in his thoughts and behaviour as the story progresses.

You are wrong! Although this may be a perfect review, giving everything you need to know, and easily holding one's attention, it's not nearly too long!!! How will it trigger the TH-cam algorithm and allow itself to be padded with ads! Every video must be 10:01 long minimum because your time is valueless, and if you are not wasting your time and thinking about the next video you want to watch then TH-cam

Reminds me of "bad mojo" PC game in the 90s which was also based on the Kafka book "Metamorphosis".

Anyone remember Bad Mojo? That was a an awesome adventure puzzle game.
Looks like the spiritual successor. So I imagine if you want another Bad Mojo, this is as good as you're gonna get.
This is a perfect way to sum up the game, I played on switch so admittedly not the best console experience but a fun play for the $3 sale price (though I wouldn’t pay more than that for such a short story that honestly ends way faster than it unfolded)

Fun fact that's the inspiration of skullgirls filia move of the same name where Samson turns into a roach and tells metamorphosis, or Gregor Samson.
I just finished playing it. It was cool being a bug and living that bug life but I expected more. I feel like the game was too short. I need more time in the bug life.
