    The people of Ghana and their kindness & hospitality outweigh everything negative she’s brought up. I’m an obruni (white man) and I live part time in Ghana, nti me ka Twi. If you learn to speak the local language while you’re living there, which you should, you won’t have these problems. I speak Twi with the police and the market women. Of course I’m different living there, but I’ve made the effort to learn the language and the various cultures. No problems. I’m prepared for issues, so I have a water tank and generator. Clothes? Hire a tailor and have all your clothes custom made. They are better quality and less expensive than store-bought. I bought my retirement house in Oyarifa and in 5 years I’m moving back for good.

    Hoooo! That's a LOT of negatives! Time to stop daydreaming about moving to Ghana, lol
    Thank you so much for the honesty, Adede.
    I have to say that the disrespect of time accounts for a lot of the inefficiencies and therefore poverty. It's worth us learning to respect time! How else can you achieve anything if everything is unpredictable????

      Don't let that discourage you. I go to Ghana and I have never experience this. But like any country it has it's ups and down.

    i officially love your videos....very honest!!!!! all the things you said are very true and the reality of Ghana....but I will not trade Ghana for the world. Your last advice on being low key should is the best advice you can give anyone!!! Showing off in Ghana will only gets you in trouble. Humility is key!!!! Thanks Adede ...you are amazing!!! God bless you

    •  7 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      i got tears in my eyes when u said "you will never trade ghana for the world" . same for me, no matter what, home is where the heart is. thats how deep it is.

      Adedè I feel the same and say it always... Home is where the heart is. And I feel Ghana is my home. I have traveled there twice. In the past 10 months and for the most part... The people are lovely and very welcoming. I love it !!! My husband is Ghanaian. I married there and will be headed back home in a couple months. Besides the electricity problems and the driving (in Accra) 'which is CRAZY!!. My husband kept and made me feel very protected. And I can hardly wait to be back. Happy travels to all my people who want to visit the Mother Land.

      How is wearing thongs you have worked for showing off? Are you saying African people do not dress well? Or, is it that we must hang our heads so others feel superior? We should be able to live our lives in peace and harmony, otherwise, what is the point.

  • @miriamawinaba7931
    @miriamawinaba7931 5 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    And one last thing, can't leave without saying this. Ghana is one of the most peaceful countries in the World!!! No political unrests, hardly any riots. We are just peacemakers in General. And with all our problems, Ghana is a happy place. No other place like to party like Ghana( maybe Nigeria for 😋) There's always a reason to party and to dance! So yeah, I'm done

    I had similar experience, when I visited Ghana two years ago. For example, the people were staring at me as if I'm alien. You see, here - in the Netherlands, I'm a foreigner, and there - in Ghana - I'm considered a foreigner, too. So, I guess I have no home, nor country to call my own. Sad, isn't it? By the way, I laughed, when you said; "some people have no shame."

      It's not about what they think. It's about the reality once they're in an African country.
      If you're not of African descent, you probably shouldn't question someone who's explaining their experiences. And if you are, just go experience it for yourself.

    • @milofarris671
      @milofarris671 6 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Black people born and raised in Western nations are thoroughly colonized. We are African by descent, but we are European by the language we speak, by the White god some of us worship, by the way we dress, even our gestures and the way we walk... would tell native Black Africans we were raised with the "Colonizers." Despite this, we the people of Black African descent belong in Mother Africa. We will thrive in Mother Africa!🌍🌍🌍💙💙💙

    I'm laughing so hard right now. All those in the comments going on about Ghana being a horrible place, trust me it's not. Yes all she said was true, but that's the system in every African country, And trust, there are so many positives that outweigh the negatives. People going on about Ghana not being safe, trust me it's safer than living in America. I live in Ghana, and believe me when I say I have never been robbed in all my 25 years. With all its negatives, I would never trade Ghana for any other country!!! Even Adedé wouldn't! 😁

    None of the negatives phase me to be honest. I go back every 1-2 yrs and work/live for up to 2-3months max. Ghana can be crazy - no joke but I've just got use to it all. So when I eventually make the move, I just know what things I need in place. I want to add though, having a network, friends and family in GH makes a difference to your experience. Plus you need to allow time, moving to any new country can take about up 1-2yrs to settle in. Depends on what you can handle and tolerate. Positives outweigh the negatives for me.

    Dial up connection that's what most companies use in the UK. Wifi also requires a landline. It's not usual. I alway travel with medicine no matter where I'm travelling. Paying certain products is so expensive especially imported goods. It's better to ship a barrel (that's what my mum does) also helps with the luggage weight. I always take an old with phone with me to Ghana and keep a low profile. As I don't drive in Ghana I hate going somewhere where I'll need to take a taxi back on my own. As every time you go back to Ghana especially Accra the roads and routes have changed. You don't know if you can trust the driver. When you arrange for one you've used and trusted before to pick you up as you had a prior agreement. They won't come, or they will say that they are far and coming to get you with an empty car and overcharge. I'm so happy Uber is in Ghana as it would make my life easier.

    To be fair you just have to adjust to how things are done in Africa don't take it personal corruption in europe is hidden if you park in the wrong place in the UK you pay a fine much more than what a Ghanaian cop would ask or a 3 Cedi increase in plantain you should pay a price you think to be reasonable if they don't accept walk away but let them eat small small.

      Jon Ward try and do a bit more research cos people go to places with unimaginable problems like bombings, civil wars, terrorism, high levels of killings etc. Every place has its problems. I'm Ghanaian we are not perfect our system sucks but the people are lovely. Trust me one thing I know for sure is the people are genuinely good and would treat you well and that alone I think it's hard to find these days. Note... not every one is good not even where you're from but everyone is very welcoming and nice to new people even more than indigenes.

      @ Yeah but I think people are generally taking the video in the wrong way. Especially with this year being the year of return and all. People who haven't visited Gh who watch this video have been generally discouraged from the idea of visiting Ghana. Every thing you said is quite true but I think people are picturing worse scenarios.

    I’m not surprised a Nigerian saying negative things about Ghana, it’s their habit they always try to destroy Ghana but they fail. Next time you better go to Nigeria and get kidnaped by Buku Harram. If Ghana is a bad place to stay as you claimed to be, why is that almost half of Nigerian movie stars are all moving to stay in Ghana now? Don’t be Hippocrates. At least you should show respect to Ghana and your husband for making ashamed of coming from Ghana!! Please!!!

Why dont ya stay in your country...what ya guys know is fraud.. using in the name of Ghana scamming some foreigners.. The whole world knows Nigerians..so stop saying bad things about Ghana..because we are ahead of you..sucks..

      Who are those Nigerian celebrities u think prefers staying in Ghana than Nigeria? Let me tell u, d only problem we have are our leaders nd dats d truth. Don't worry, it will only take time, by d time d right government steps in then most of u saying negative things about Nigeria will start using ur own mouth to say positive things. Corruption is everywhere even though it's more in naija so stop saying Nigerians are running to Ghana to stay. There are Ghanaians who live nd stay in nigeria and are doing well too. What u ppl don't know about we Nigerians is dis, wen u c a Nigerian in any parts of d world Alwys no one thing, which is thriving to succeed or for success. U c Nigerians everywhere Bcos they want to try other places for success since they know that their present place of abode is not working. And again, wen a Nigerian knows that is he not making success where he is he immediately begins to make search on travelling or relocating to other places in search of greener pastures nd don't b surprised that even as he is away from his country he is making big investment back in his country without ur knowledge. We are determined ppl weda positive or negative, wen we come to ur country we explore every necessary means to b successful why those that are even d citizens of dat country will b crying for job. Our govnt has made us independent in all areas that is y u c Nigerians making it weda positive or negative. I am not advocating for evil but Africans Alwys criticize most especially Ghanaians wen a Nigerian does something evil. If u most Africans thinks it easy to use ur head to make fraudulent money nd not get caught y don't u try it nd c if it's easy. I tell ppl weda our govnt works today or not we can never depend on them. Ppl say Nigerians are proud, y won't u b proud wen u no ur only helper is God, y won't u b proud wen u know u work hard on ur own without d help of d government nd u still made it? Listen, d Nigerian hussling spirit is different from other Africans, we don't wait for government to baby sit us like how majority of africans does. It's like u still living in ur parents house depending on ur parents for cookie nd hamburger all d time. I am proud to say this, Nigerians are d only Africans that sees success as a competition nd would make sure they remain on top. They take opportunities immediately it comes nd they are d only ppl with too many ideas weda good or bad to achieve dat success. Tell dem ur bizbess plans nd u will b surprised in 2days ur biznss plans will start generating money before u will even think of putting ur biznss ideas or plans into use. Nigeria nd Nigerians are strong ppl even with d hardship. Tell me an african country that can still stand till date despite d looting of monies? Do u know how much that has nd is still been stolen from dat country nd yet d annual budget of dat country is still bigger than 4 african country's budget put together. A single looted money is even enough to create another african country. Check d internet nd c how much ibori, abacha, babangida nd many others stole. If monies like dis are constantly been stolen from other countries u will never hear dat country exist again nd dats d true. With such experience u say I should not b proud of my country? How many african countries have u heard single handedly giving Nigeria or borrowing Nigeria money? But we have been doing dat to other african countries yet they say stupid things about Nigeria Bcos of d idiots who occupied our helm of affairs. In conclusion, ppl make money tru positive nd negative means in d world nd do not fget dat it was recently discovered dat Ghanaians and Turkish ppl had a secrete u.s. embassy in Accra Ghana. Check nd c for ursef on d internet nd dat is wat Nigerians cannot think of doing. So many evil things happening in Ghana too nd not only naija. Weda u say stupid stuff about about Nigeria or Nigerians we don't care cos all we care is how to make d money y u guys keep saying useless things about us. Keep saying useless things nd u will continue to c us at d top. Check, our news is everywhere, u cannot talk about d good, bad nd ugly without mentioning naija nd dat makes us proud. U think Nigerians going to Ghana nd other african country it's Bcos we love it there than Nigeria? Hell no, it's Bcos there is something u guys have that could make us successful on time nd before u know it we are back home investing nd flexing. There is no better place to invest nd have fun than Nigerians. Apart frm light nd bad government come to Nigeria to catch fun nd c if u will ever like to have fun in ur Ghana or anywhere, ask questions about Nigeria wen it comes to having fun.. Let's stop saying negative things about a country just Bcos d are not working very well for them at d moment.

    Ghana sounds like a place that is shrewd, wicked and primative. The ppl, even the police sound to be "dishonest." And this is where Smerican blacks are wanting to "live?" May their dream (or nightmare) be fulfilled. This does not sound like a place I would even want to visit.

      Starr Lite Like the police in America shooting innocent people dead in broad daylight. Or states across America filled with child molesters and pedophiles. Not to mention the high numbers of school shootings that happen on a weekly basis. Oh and your very relaxed gun laws and drug epidemic making people walking zombies. Please don’t allow your western tinted glasses make you delusional to the plights that your country faces.

    Have you ever seen Europeans and people from other nations in this world making such videos about their nations even though they have massive problems? You only make these stupid videos because you go to an Afrikan nation carrying a Western mentality.
