    The "Earth Scar" solo is fantastic, I cant believe the solos werent really talked about much or displayed in this video. Amazing solos have been another Decapitated trademark since the beginning.

    Yes Sam !! 5/5 it is !! I can't believe the amount of keyboard warriors slagging this band off ! "the first 3/4 albums were best , now they're this they're that , and i m still behind my keyboard wishing i could play like Vogg etc..etc.." i understand people have opinions but to me DECAPITATED are the best Death Metal band around and pretty impressive live . So i will buy this album and will go and see them live .Kurwa motherfuckers !!

    That riff in Never most definetly beats out anything else on this album...such a badass riff. As for the haters, you dont like what they are giving us, theres plenty of other bands out there for you to listen to as well. I have no problem with Vogg taking this band into a more "mature" direction. I love old Decapitated and new Decapitated. The old stuff is alway's going to be there to go back to...music is timeless.

  • @EggersMcBraiden

    I never listened to Decapitated before, and was pleasantly suprised by the singles. Now I listened to the whole thing. Its pretty rad. Heavyness, grovyness, atmosphere in a tight package. I see where old fans are coming from, I had this experience with other bands too, but you should try to get over it, it's wort it imo. And nice review. Not a 5, but I understand. Cheers.

      Post Organic made me happy as! Spheres made me extra happy upon every listen. Both songs had ultra primetime death metal physics. Rhythmic and mosh pit constructed. 1st 4 albums had the dynamic of pure Decapitated.

    decapitated has certainly changed over the years and the circumstances, but I dig their new sound as well as their old sound, while the vocals might be a bit mediocre, the guitar tone on this thing is ABSOLUTELY CRUSHING! I LOVE IT!

    • @JasonB_13
      @JasonB_13 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Robert Zembrzycki Man, I'm glad someone else thinks that too. I just discovered Decapitated a couple of years ago and after watching several live shows I realized Vogg is the best man for the job. A couple of the previously mentioned names would work too but I feel like Vogg brings the perfect combination of both feel and technique. He also would keep the focus on the music instead of drawing the attention someone like Zakk would bring to the table. That's not a knock on ZW at all but I don't think he could play the songs without throwing in some of those pinch harmonics he's obsessed with.

  • @princealigorna7468

    I still applaud these guys for being able to carry on like they did when Vitek died. I'm not always the biggest fan of their sound (I have a rather interesting relationship with Polish death metal as a whole, in that sometimes to me it tries to be too heavy or too technical and hence can be rather boring, although I absolutely adore Behemoth. But that's more to do with Behemoth being a unique beast onto themselves with how they mix Nile and Morbid Angel style Eastern-influenced riffs and solos with black metal atmospherics and those insanely poetic and assertive, Thelemic/Crowleyan lyrics, and Nergal's fucking blast furnace vocals), but they do have some songs I freaking love! Spheres of Madness especially is a song that I listen to a lot. The song's only like 3 major riffs, that all sound like they'd be the breakdowns on any other band's album, but they're so tight, and put together so that they blend so well, that the whole experience is just overwhelming. That's some of the grooviest but also heaviest guitar playing I've ever heard from any death metal band!
    But yeah, in general I just have a lot of respect for any band that loses a member in death but still carries on. Especially one that's been a decade-long member integral to their early sound.

    As you said, you can actually hear the current sound which has been developing since Organic Hallucinosis. I personally like all eras of Decapitated. The fact that they have always had a unique sound and haven't been cut from the same cusp as other tech death bands is awesome.
    Anticult has a crushing production and tons of grooves, with enough blast beats and aggression to make my death metal chub happy.

    It's strange how people actually don't realize that groove in decapitated has always been there. Songs like Spheres Of Madness, Nihility, The Eye Of Horus, Names and others (speeking only of the first 2 albums since this becomes obvious on Organic H.), are tech-death masterpieces but also make you fucking bang your head!
    Now the groove has just changed its form, taking a major role in the sound....thus being GENERIC AS HELL. This is the biggest problem for today's decapitated, they were unique and now pretty generic.

    • @MFKR696
      @MFKR696 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Poem of an Old Prison Man is pretty much prototypical Decapitated, if you ask me. It's got the blast-beats going, but at the same time the guitars beat out a pulse that's groovy as fuck. It's my fav Decapitated song, if you couldn't tell lol, and Organic Hallucinosis is my fav album from them.

    • @MRSludgedude
      @MRSludgedude 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      The groove keeps it heavy . Might be a bit more generic but it's much more aggressive than the old death metal style. Plus the guitars here are better. Ppl don't like the Phil anselmo vocal sound I guess.

    I'm enjoying this album a lot! I like their prime stuff, and The Negation era was damn awesome, but, besides the reasonable evolution in the sound, it's like if old Sepultura had a child with old Decapitated. I have to say that I really hate when bands take a turn in their sound and loose their identity in the process (f.e. Opeth), not in this case

    "Organic Hallucinosis" May infact be the Greatest Death Metal album of all time. It was a massive blow to the metal community when the horrific accident of 2007 occurred. Decapitated were right in their prime! who knows what could have been. Although i miss the early sounding tech death of this new inclination of Decapitated. I will continue to support this band through and through. "Anticult" is really growing on me and if any band is going to lead the new wave of Groove based DeathCore (which im normally not a fan of). At least its going to be a band i still care about, and i hope they find the sucess they deserve. Whatever gets more people listening to "Spheres of Madness" in the end.

    This sounds like a great death metal album for people to get into the genre. I love heavy instrumentals and blast beats, but deep gutturals aren't appealing to me. When I listen to Anticult, I think, "When did Lamb of God become a death metal band?"

  • @ShreddedShredder0
    @ShreddedShredder0 7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    I think the problem is that most people are still classifying Decapitated as a technical death metal band. They've obviously moved far beyond that, and they're looking to experiment with sound because people get bored, and musicians are people too. Many metal bands move away from their initial sound after which some regress to an earlier sound after overwhelming negative feedback (like Cryptopsy) while others keep pushing it further (like Opeth). Either way, these albums are simply journeys for these musicians. Embrace it or don't listen to it - that's up to you - but I don't think we're in the position to criticize the musicians for making these choices.

  • @KraaaaaaZy
    @KraaaaaaZy 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Interesting that you gave it five stars! I've been starting to gravitate more towards the slam side of TDM/BDM lately (also more grind and PV), and I'd say I still enjoy OH more than their newer efforts.
    I guess I'm one of those guys who are pulling away from the - dare I say - Americanised groove-influenced DM, that to me, not unlike this record's style, feels very tame. Not inspired; Vogg is very talented. But it's less chaotic. Smoother. Like you said, Vogg wanted to go with the flow, more than anything else. It wouldn't hurt to pen down TDM-esque note tapping in there again, though.
    I'm sure if I listened to it more I'd get into it, as I liked a few sections from both Carnival and Blood. I'm also a big Meshuggah fan. But, with due respect to Decapitated, Mesh. can juggle the flow-going, and proggy technicality, and heavy-ass groove with utmost precision.

      Sheeeet, if Necrot's Blood Offerings is the only album you showed interested in who are you backing for 2017 then? Plus this list only calls out albums that just have come out or about to come out. It's based on curiosity, so now I know your opinion.

      The Drip - The Haunting Fear of Inevitability
      It's the only album I've heard this year that I've liked. Too many bands that should have hung it up years ago coming out with half-assed albums this year. Only old men like Sam who like the same ol' thing over and over can be excited about the year in metal thus far.

    • @Serphwratt
      @Serphwratt 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The Drip remind me of Nasum and now it makes sense why you don't like Elder. So did you like Full Of Hell's Trumpeting Ecstasy? I think that album is the best so far. From your "thrash should stay the 80's" remark you sound like an old man, haha. I don't mind older death metal bands coming out with new albums because when they where young and creating the scene no one gave a fuck. Now people give a fuck and those bands should be recognized. It does suck though when a band gets old and they suck. I can't argue against that.

    New information has surfaced in the Decapitated story that broke over the weekend. The band had been arrested in Santa Ana, California on the night of September 8 regarding an alleged kidnapping which took place on August 31 in Spokane, Washington.
    Initially, we learned all four members of the band are being held on suspicion of kidnapping, but today the charges have gotten more serious. A new story from Spokesman details court documents regarding the case released on Monday, September 11, and Decapitated is being accused of gang rape. According to the documents, the woman and her friend in question got on the band's bus, at which point things got grim and turned into sexual assault from all four members of the band.
    “The women said they ended up speaking with members of Decapitated and were invited to have drinks in the tour bus parked outside the venue, according to court documents.
    One woman “described being excited to be on the bus, and then one of the band members began grabbing her breasts,” court documents say. “He was later identified as the drummer, Michal Lysejko.”
    The same woman “was uncomfortable and said the band members began speaking to each other in Polish,” court documents say. “She described the ‘vibe’ in the bus changed, and one of the members began looking at them like they were prey.”
    The woman said she looked at her friend “to signal they needed to get out of there.” She then used the bathroom and was followed by the lead singer, Piotrowski, according to court documents.
    The woman told police Piotrowski began kissing her as she finished using the bathroom, and she began resisting when he started undoing her belt, according to court documents. She said she wanted to leave the bus with her friend, but a band member indicated her friend had already left, saying, “You have to have fun. She left you.”
    The woman “attempted to push Piotrowski away but he grabbed her arm and spun her around to where she was facing the sink and mirror in the bathroom,” court documents say. “She saw in the mirror and out of the corner of her eye each of the band members taking turns raping her.”
    The friend, meanwhile, said she watched the band members rape the other woman, and Piotrowski asked her to perform oral sex on him. When the friend refused, court documents say, “she was pushed to the ground and received bruises to her knees and shins.”
    Shortly after leaving the tour bus and driving away, at 12 43 p.m., the friend was pulled over on North Washington Street near West Boone Avenue on suspicion of driving under the influence, according to court documents.
    In the back seat of a patrol car, the friend was allowed to use her cellphone to call the other woman, who reported the rape. A state trooper said he couldn’t help without a specific location and proceeded with his DUI investigation.
    The alleged victim “described her body as feeling broken,” court documents say. “After an unknown amount of time,” she told police, “Waclaw (Kieltyka) helped her put her clothing on and carried her out of the bus with another male.”
    She walked north from The Pin and called several family members before calling 911, according to court documents. An officer found her near North Post Street and West Buckeye Avenue, about 2 miles from the venue. The officer also stopped by The Pin and “checked the area for the tour bus, but the band had already left Spokane for their next venue.”
    The woman was taken to Providence Holy Family Hospital for a sexual assault examination.
    Detectives noted she had “significant bruising to her upper arms consistent with being restrained” and “small abrasions to her knuckles that were scabbed over.” During the rape, she said, she “was digging her fist into the wall to try and distract herself from what was happening.”
    Court documents say detectives from the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Office interviewed the band members on Thursday.
    Lysejko, the drummer, “made no comment other than he did not know who the girls were” when shown a picture of them. “He said he would not talk without using a translator,” court documents say.
    Kieltyka, the lead guitarist, told detectives he saw both Piotrowski and Wiecek engaged in a sex acts with the woman in the bathroom. He agreed to have a DNA swab collected as evidence.
    Piotrowski “admitted there was a party on the bus and (the women) were present. He then requested an attorney and a translator refusing to make any further statements,” court documents say. He declined to give a DNA sample.
    Wiecek, the bassist, admitted the women had been on the bus, but said he “sat on the couch and did not see what was going on,” court documents say. “He then said he needed a translator so he did not misspeak. He also said no one was forced to get on the bus. He then said he did not recall what happened.”
    Wiecek also declined to give a DNA sample.
    A fifth man, Wojciech Cichocki, told detectives he was asleep in the cab of the tour bus and never saw the woman who reported being raped. Cichocki said he “only briefly” saw the friend who was later pulled over. “He also made a reference to (her) Instagram account but would not elaborate on it,” court documents say.”
    Decapitated is currently being held at Los Angeles County Jail and are facing extradition back to Spokane. The article also states that police have said additional charges against the band are currently possible.
    Graham tells Spokesman that "Decapitated plan to fully fight the allegations that are brought against them, and we are fully confident that the other side of this story will be heard," and earlier in the week he had told the same source source that he and the band "have witnesses that can testify to the fact that the accuser came to visit band of her own free will and left on good terms."

    I thought Blood Mantra was way better than Carnival. It's as though Vogg had to learn how to write Decap. music on his own. Vitek was a huge contributor to the music structure, and steering Vogg into the groovy and punishing riffs we all love. Death metal lost an amazing drummer and songwriter in Vitek but it seems as though Vogg has really found his own sound and songwriting style. I'm glad he continued Decapitated
