If there's a free camera where I can watch huge AI battles that I make, then I'm sold.
Also the Ui is whole loads of nostalgia. Reminds me of early 2000's games.

there is a free camera and a sort of RTS mechanic if you click on a unit and right click somewhere

don't know how long it's had it, but there's an option to spectate when you select the 'war' mission 🙌

This is the kind of simulator I need. I can’t get into DCS. Excited to try this.
The destructible power lines were cool hopefully the dev adds some city maps that can be leveled
Especially with nukes in the game? Hell yeah. I'd like to see carrier operations and naval battles also. The nukes look a lot like the LRASM Anti-ship cruise missile, which is one of my favorites.
This has huge potential. It's going to blow up if they develop it further with additional features
I wonder if this has controller controls as well? if it does, I could absolutely see this being a spiritual successor to the energy airforce games, How i've wanted a simple to control game with more complicated flight mechanics for years!
it does, just got done playing it. Turn off the virtual joystick and bam, everything works as intended.

I was really excited about this game, but I managed to buy a HOTAS that this game for some reason doesn't support. It just won't recognize my throttle and my joystick as separate inputs.

I really like the look of this game. Its not afraid of being arcade in its realism and having close-quarters dogfights in stealth jets is awesome.
not too arcady, not too simmy, perfect balance
I like it where sims make it so the mechanics are realistic tho rule of cool is permissible but I don’t have to press all the buttons and have a PHD just to do one thing.
If the controls are like War Thunder for KB+M players that don't have access to a good joystick, this could finally be a real competitor. Just checked and access is free, will check it out when I get a chance Edit: Had a chance to try it, mouse controls aren't QUITE as good as WT's, but still pretty good. Very fun! Unfortunately no multiplayer lobbies at the moment, but Total War is still fun on your own

@twerkingbollocks6661 honestly them patenting a control type should not be legal but i guess since they are stationed where they are it doesnt matter
@@protogamer8641 I feel like it should be illegal for companies to put patents on colors or DNA sequences or plants, but they still do that too all the time. So being able to patent a control type is not the most unheard of thing. Copyright laws are dumb as hell, and really hold all of humanity back.

This looks great! I've been wanting a combat sim newer than the MicroProse classics of the 90's but simpler to get started than DCS. Does it have helicopters? I thought I saw one in the beginning of the video, but I didn't see it in the list of choices when you were choosing what to fly.

Tiny Combat Arena will also suit your style then. It is however, very limited still.
Check it out again, they’re in official EA now and added an attack helicopter, it’s lit.
Man if this dev can get amazing sounds in this game, this will be absolutely on my list. Effects are looking nice so far. Gonna check this out myself. Sound is important to me cause alot of games now a days that come out are hit or miss with their sound design and its mostly misses.
Just imagine the sound of some really nice explosions in this game. Especially when the nukes shockwave reaches your aircraft. Oh boiiiii

tried this game out with my friend after watching this video, 10/10 ngl, we played for a few hours having a nuclear war. The nukes in this game are really fun to try and intercept

Anyone ever play Bogey Dead 6 on Playstation? It used real jets but it was a fun arcade flight sim a lot like this.

planes despite being very advandced still require way too much manual input. i could see military aviation becoming allot more simpler exactly like this
I mean if you look at planes like the F-22 and the F-35, this is kinda what is happening. Planes are replacing a lot of gauges and dials and buttons for automated systems and touch-screens. Of course they don't want to go too far, because they still want to have knowledgeable aviators just in case we need to go back to simpler times.
