You can't config the controls in Switch VM, but you can reconfig them in the Switch controller settings if you know you're gonna spend a lot of time playing VM games.
not sure you will see this zfg but you talked about routing and things from time to time and what about. routing a set seed of rando? finding a seed you like. and mapping that to finish it as fast as possible in the rules. of 100%

I'm glad I'm not the only one when using the ocarina of time the input lag I noticed is really bad I never cared much til I played Majora's mask using the ocarina messed up a few or more times cause the input lag kept throwing me off
The item buttons being on the right analog are garbage. Over half the time he uses the wrong item. Try to shoot an arrow, game says why don’t you put on this mask instead
@@OrangeIsBorange They should fix those issues, update the visuals, and release that on switch as a remaster alongside this N64 port, since they don't want fans using mods to fix their games for them. Until then I guess we can keep using citra with project restoration and hd texture packs.

And like ZFG said in another video, even if you don't "notice" the lag it's still affecting you. What you might assume is you just being bad could have been fine but the lag messed you up.

it's strange. I've not experienced any input lag on any of the 64 games on switch. Then my dad tries Mario Golf 64 and immediately notices the lag and quits after hole 2. makes me wonder if there's something wrong (or right?) with me...
its often not something someone thinks about and you usually wont notice it casually unless its extremely bad. best example is mario golf where even the slightest lag can change a shot, where as something like mario 64/oot its really only noticeable when your doing something that requires precise inputs. (best example is in this video when ZFG is playing the ocarina real fast, you can hear the clicks and see how long the game takes to register the notes, causing him to pause for the 2nd to last note so it would not skip inputs.)
Yeah it depends on how you play. If you're trying to be as consistent and precise as possible, you'll notice lag. If you're playing casually, it shouldn't be noticeable. However that doesn't mean you couldn't adapt to it on some level

savestates wouldnt be allowed in speedruns, even if NSO was faster. so that would'nt make a difference at all.

Remember that MM has very skill demanding archery minigames. Even a small amount of input lag is a HUGE deal.

I actually bought the premium subscription just for oot about 2 weeks ago and it played perfectly fine although I haven’t played mm yet
I guess there a couple different factors that play into it. Did you notice any difference with the switch docked or not?
