      Ogden Sikel hey, I have a question, it’d be great if you could answer. I’m shoe size 11.5 and I found a cruiser board which is a tugboat and the Tugboat comes in at 30″ long and 9″ wide. Could you tell me what this means and if this is a good choice

    • @OgdenSikel
      @OgdenSikel  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@clee1243 yes! If you are looking for a cruiser specifically, a Tugboat would do well with your shoe size. Honestly you could get a smaller one like a dinghy but the tugboat will 100% work for your shoe size.

    Stability and speed all about wheel size any 22" penny takes 70mm wheels (straight up swap no risers) with zero wheel bite no matter weight or lose trucks and you can do same-same in all weathers with no care / maintenance / scratch factor and better portability otherwise just get a popsicle with shock pads and rock softer wheels.

  • @JonnyBoyGolden
    @JonnyBoyGolden 4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Great video. Very informative. I know you said you liked the wheel flares, but how is it riding with them? Does it limit your foot stance, or make it less comfortable than a regular concave board would be? How would you compare them? Does it help with carving? I have my eye on a Landyachtz board that has wheel flares, and since I've never road a board like that, I'm a little apprehensive about getting it. I've only ever ridden flat or concave. Any info would help. Thanks.

    • @OgdenSikel
      @OgdenSikel  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You know to be honest, I don’t really notice them much...they don’t feel much different than the concave. Most of my time my feet aren’t on top of them so I don’t think you’ll have any issues there! So no, it doesn’t limit my stance at all. Hope that helps!

    Hello Odgen! thank you very much for your awesome reviews on the Dinghy board! It really helps me find my new crush. May I ask for your recommendation? I am nearly 40's and I never skated but I am willing to learn. I usually live in a very crowded city in Asia (Manila) and I am looking for the best way to commute through the city. So I definitively fell in love with the Dinghy in general and the Blunt in particular.
    But I came across the surfsakte and I wonder if it would be a better choice. I have a feeling that you can ride longer distances with the surfskate with less effort since it seems you need to push less and can pump more. However, there is not much comparison between cruisers and surfsakte. And I can't figure out if the surfskate is good for traveling through crowds, avoid street obstacles, going up and down sidewalks, cracks, etc.. I am not much in doing a lot of tricks What about its portability. It would be awesome if you could h decide and give a brief description with pros sand cons of the surfskate vs the Dinghy.
    Besides, how far did go with your Dinghy? how many miles? I often read it's not made to cover more than 3-4 miles. I know it's hard to get a polyvalent board which at the same time brings you far, and little enough to carry on the backpack and to skate through a compact city.

    Can you do a video on Skateboard beginner injuries? As a beginner myself, I've developed some constant ankle and leg muscle cramps on my pushing leg. Not sure if this is because I'm pushing incorrectly (this may also be the case) or not. Either way, if you know of any more types of body stresses new skaters can expect to develop, I'd be interested in seeing a video on it!

    • @Unique_Racing
      @Unique_Racing 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Nope happening to me also lol the leg goes away the ankle can get seriously sore, try pushing with your heel first basically like a walking motion and try not to push with just your toes, you can also try riding switch but that’s more advanced lol I can’t even ride switched comfortably yet

    • @nibwit4650
      @nibwit4650 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I will also add that your Achilles heel will get very sore if you push from your toes. I stressed it out so bad after 3-4 years of riding the same way everyday, even after a year of not riding alot it still hurt. I try to use both my toes & whole foot. If you push with your toes lean forward a bit & push your foot down & make it act like a spring.

    Halp I've been deliberating for weeks to settle on my first landychtz. I want the Meowijuana boards so bad (tugboat or blunt) because I love the graphic and I wear 9.5 shoes so I figured I'd appreciate the extra half/inch of width better, but then I wanted plowkings so I fear no stone nor awful gap angled sidewalk edges. Basically, I know the blunt/tugboat will feel a bit more stable bc of space but I'm worried I'm more likely to fall off it (they only get chubbys 60mm x 42 vs plowking 72mm by 65s) vs a turbo king. What do you think? Or should I just be getting a bigger cruiser (idk what else maybe like the rallycat)?

    • @OgdenSikel
      @OgdenSikel  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      My shoe size is 9 men's and the dinghy is decent for me. can get a little uncomfortable after a bit but not horrible. If you want a bigger board with the larger wheels, you could always just buy all the parts individually so you can pick the wheels you want. Another option could be the drop cat 33. it is wider and a little longer so it will be a lot more comfortable.

      @@OgdenSikel Reddit saved the day! I went ahead and ordered the Blunt. I did find that people disliked how the smaller wheels on wider boards didn't handle terrain as well as the Dinghys. I found a post of people basically making a Turbo Blunt and that's what I'm going to try. People are running 70mm x ~42 wheels on the Blunt successfully, and a few people are waiting on 70 x ~53s which are close to Plows, so I'm going to wait and see if they get foot bite before ordering myself. Hey man. Just found your channel and you're great! I have a question...
    I started boarding in February and I love it. I have a skateboard, a Landyachtz Ripper (e.g. pintail with TKP trucks), and a Landyachtz ATV Acidwash (shortboard on 60mm 78a wheels). I love them all, ride them for different stuff, but have been considering getting a dinghy to travel with and get around town.
    I like that it's agile and a little sketchy. Too stable of boards get boring for me (like my buddy's Loaded Tan Tien).
    Do you think a Dinghy could be a good fit, or is it too redundant with my ATV (maybe I'd sell the ATV)? Also, is it worth it to upgrade to a Turbo (King) Dinghy? My neighborhood (Denver) has SUPER sketchy sidewalks with big gaps, so maybe those Plow King wheels are what I need?
    Would love to hear your thoughts!
    Oh, and can you slash a slide to slow down on that thing, or are the wheels too grippy?
    Thanks!!

    • @OgdenSikel
      @OgdenSikel  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Good questions! I think you would have a lot of fun on the dinghy for the circumstances you described! The turbo king would probably be a good idea, because not just the wheels, but also the layer of fiberglass inside it helps for durability and rough surfaces. I’ve gotten the wheels to slide also because they’re stone ground rather than smooth surfaced so they can slide a bit when you want them to!
