Good video... except that in such environments there is always a lot of wind lifting up dust from the gravel which makes the process a lot more tedious. Also, companies that do transformer maintenance send you to sample several units in such a short time, which increases your suffering, leading to oil spills, contaminated samples that have to be extracted again, sample containers falling over, etc. At least where I work at, where they wanted me to sample 7 transformers from the 60's that had no valve and only had a bronze screw holding the oil inside... and yet I somehow had to pull a DGA sample on it, despite the fact it didn't even have an overpressure device that I could remove and insert the hose into. Just that one misserable screw... Currently on my 75th sample... and let me tell you that 50% of the time, you're gonna be wishing they sent someone else to get the samples. Oh did I mention the fun times you have when a bolt breaks off when removing it, or is straight up welded with rust and no unholy amounts of wd-40 will get it loose? And since you're just sampling oil, why should you be carrying an agle grinder? it's such a simple process, you just need a 3/4'' wrench, a ratchet wrench, a stillson, gloves and the sampling kit... Just why on earth would you need more tools that that am I right?
