You know for all the "mixed reviews" and no matter the chart performance, I think all their albums are solid. I think everything after Funky Divas was totally underrated (including singles like "Runaway love"). They always put out solid work. Some songs I like less and don't make my playlist of faves, but a lot of the time I really dig most of the albums.
Riddle and Never Gonna Get It are my two favorite En Vogue songs. I like the dance routines in both videos. And I love the chorus of both.... "No you're gonna get it, never ever gonna get it." "One little riddle, two little, three little, four little riddles...." That's the classic EV sound. I also hear it in other songs like Love Won't Take Me Out and Latin Soul... "Oh, I wake up in the moring, and it's on me...." LOL Yes En Vogue!!! The best group ever.
The soundtrack of my coming of age... this album spoke to my heart and helped me through the pain... falling in love its weary I surrender completely... my fav jam on the album... that and no no no omg MAXINE!!!!!
Every single version of this group has slayed, I so agree with you. They've never slipped in terms of that EV standard. I mean, all of us have strong sentimental and nostalgic attachment to the original 4. But This version of the trio, the 4 with Rho and Maxine, the trio with Rho, and to a certain extent the trio with Amanda were *all* amazing. I am grateful to the current trio for keeping that EV flame burning. I'd love if Max came back - even if only sometimes. And I'm also completely at peace with never seeing Dawn again because I don't think there's any way she will not cause conflict/stress. No hate and no shade, just an acceptance that some people are built like that and she's shown us time and again it's who she is, no matter what the situation.
@@carolineneisha AMEN!! I so wish that the fans who discount anything EV's done since the original formula changed, but still managed to continue and evolve, would see it that way and learn to accept where everyone is. Can't make someone happy if they don't want to be.
@@jamiebaxter7965 Preach. All six configurations of this group could sing circles round people and always repped the EV brand. And every album has had bangers with some really strong material, even if people didn't always know about it or or give it a chance. They are *always* experimenting and mixing genres and styles in really interesting ways, and sometimes I think people just don't get it (on top of them whingeing about wanting the OGs back). Their music always brings me joy, these girls are good vibes, and I can't ask for more. Or rather the only thing I've ever wanted more of - and this goes back to the beginning - was more real instruments on their studio recordings, because you hear how so many songs come alive when they do them with live bands or full orchestras. But that's not the singers - that's the producers and production. Anyway, while folks bitch and complain, I got my tickets to go see them in May and my only reservation is that maybe I should have bought a seat a lil closer to the stage, but it was in the middle of a row and I need aisle access so I can get up and dance without having to ask anyone to let me by 😂
i love all of them they each have a different tone to their voice but in every song u can kind of hear terry over the rest i guess cus she sings louder lol cant wait for their new album
Marvellous, each other girlgroup had a solo star, and that sucks in the end,but En Vogue really kepot it balanced between all the members, and the difference is huge!!! they re really the best!!
I now feel that idea is a double-edged sword: while it works for the group as a whole, while they're together (and we see how that ALWAYS goes), it almost leaves a solo endeavour nowhere to go. With a Destiny's-Child-type situation, at least the lead girl can move onto other things. No member of En Vogue is interesting alone, because the dynamic of the no-lead group is so powerful. Alas.
This song was great I don't know why this wholeAlbum didn't sale ...I know why yall so call fan didn't like the fact that dawn left so yall were mad and didn't even give En Vogue The time of day 😓😒😔😕😂
+Charles Turner I totally agree When dawn left the group the record label knew they made a mistake and they felt Maxine Terry and Cindy couldn't grabe the fame they once had . But overall this album was a hit in my heart.
yea I agree the concept was was very different and interesting mixing classical with R&B and hip hop and I also read that the label almost made this album to be a visual one just like Beyonce 2 albums. It was suppose to be a mini-film containing the En Vogue Love Suite ("Love U Crazay", "Sad But True", "Love Won't Take Me Out", "Whatever Will Be, Will Be (Que Será. Será))" but because of low sales plans were scrapped. But I definitely wouldve released those dogs first because of the sound around 1999-2000 it couldve passed off as a timbaland or kandi burrus record
I always thought that terry said she didn’t know nobody named Tyra .... in connection that it was suppose to be her in the video and not the Naomi Campbell (look a like 🤷🏾♂️)
