That would also work great using scotch-bright pads if you make the disks a bit bigger, nice work, hand made always works better than having to buy them. :)
That's a very good idea. Haven't thought about this. Thank you
That's a great idea. I've often been frustrated at the cost of buying replacements (for my Dremel) - the scotch-brite pads do a good job but don't last long.
Or leather
While we are talking about make things, when you use the typical 2" angle grinder sanding disks of any grit, when the edges are worn and don't work anymore, cut them down to 1" disks and they will work like new again. Of course you will need a 1" disk holder, but it works. And I found that cutting them down is so easy on a bench grinder from the back side of them...
Hand made definitely isn't always better.
Honey, where’s that lovely 100% cotton bedsheet!
...why does it smell greasy and why does it has holes in it? 🤣🤣🤣
Hahahaha 😂
my mechanics insights Haha
I bet she's been looking for her salt, vinegar, flour & Scotchbrite pads, too?
@@mymechanicsinsights Since it has holes I can use in my shop! No waste.
my mechanics once again making my quarentine time a little bit better ❤️
Glad I could help ;-)
Liked the video before i watch cos he doesn't disappoint 👍👌
Thank you very much, I really do appreciate it :-)
i can honestly say that he is one of the VERY FEW youtubers that has NEVER put out a bad or boring video !! This guy could most likely make a video of him sweeping up or cleaning his shop and make it look awesome ...
Excellent, excellent, excellent!
Je dirai même plus,EXCELLENT !

Peace be upon you
Thank you and thank you very much, artist (mechanics in the true sense of the word). I follow all your work. And I'm very interested in your art.
In my country (Iran), I have not seen a human being capable of you. You work so hard with love that you do whatever you want.
You are a real artist
Thank you very much :-)
This is why I love TH-cam so much, as it allows someone like myself, in Ohio, USA, to enjoy reading comments from someone afar that also enjoys the technical artistry of these videos.
Peace and happiness to you, good sir from Iran.
@@djosbun Thank you also
Love the chuck set-up on that rotary tool.
Yeah, me too :-)
Kal Random agreed, better than my poor old Dremel. Les in UK. Have a safe week-end everyone!
does anyone know, which rotary tool it is? i need a new one :(
@@mymechanicsinsights can you tell us which rotary tool it is? I would like one too. Maybe I make a new one
@@Quwoll Indeed. I use a Dremel a lot for armory in the sport of fencing, and changing the wheels out is a pain sometimes.
very impressive and amazing how you got each hole in the cotton disks to line up so well
Making a new one is strong with this one. You must use the compound. May my mechanics be with you always. Use the sand blasting media my young machinist. :P
Haha, thanks for the comment Master Venger
@@mymechanicsinsights Anytime thank you for the amazing content. Master Mechanic :D
You make us a lot of videos lately and we feel privileged and thankful.
Excellent.
Many thanks!
Really slick , nice work on the arbor . You've got a lot of patience , but that's what you need to do the level of perfection that shows in your projects . Thanks for showing how its done .
Nothing like starting with a 13 mm rod and turning it into a 3 mm screw!
I'm always amazed at the talent in these videos. Wish I had that array of machines.
Nice work as always, looking forward to your next restoration
You make me want a lathe and to learn machining so badly! It makes the threading tool look so easy to use with precision!
Admiro la gran paciencia, amor y dedicación que pones en cada pieza que restauras. Es un placer ver cada uno de tus videos! Saludos desde Mendoza, Argentina.
Yeps, practical and effective as usual. Top notch.
Brilliant! You are very clever. I'm always impressed with your work.
Cannot get enough of these uploads ! Master craftsman !Due to the current unfortunate situation we should all be hoping to see more uploads to break our cabin fever and keep our sanity! Please dont stop ! 10/10
STAY SAFE AND SMART EVERYONE❤
Yes, I hope so :-)
I cannot produce the exact same thing, but it still gives me ideas. Thank you.
Nice job.
I'll turn down a bolt save on threading it. 😁👍
Brilliant. As always.
Great concept.
Dude I could only dream about making things like you do, but thanks so much for sharing this idea!
We all love you. 😘 😘
Thank you :-)
You need to start somewhere, your skills will improve with time. Try and make something small, you'll be proud even if it's not as good as you'd like.
Great idea!!
I'll do the same tomorrow for my dremel! Good and simple idea! Why it was not born in my head?))) Thanks!
the tool, that would never untighten. Great!
Need these videos so much right now. Thank you for continuing to make them. The care and quality of the storytelling that you put into these projects is just remarkable.
Thank you very much, I'm glad you like it :-)
Very good, man !!! 👍👍👍
You sir, are a genius!
such a small thing, and quite ingenious ^^ I hope you get plenty of uses out of it!
I think so :-)
O cara é bom mesmo. Excelente trabalho.
That minimo tool is really neat. makes me tightening the collet on my rotary tool with a spanner look a bit silly
New little Poilishing buff Good job.
You forgot to say "et Voila"
Check the endscreen again ;-)
@@mymechanicsinsights Good one lol :)
Boom! That EZ. Thanks
Nice work dude
I looked, but I'd love to see a list of the tools you are using in the shop. Your die grinder, micro media blaster are first on my list. GREAT WORK!
That's so nice!
You Creativity is limitless!!!
Thank you
Fantastic 👍
I know it will never be the same, but it took me ten minutes to go to a supply store got a bag of small Dremel buffing wheels and I was on my way, Thank's for the video, I just don't have access to NASA'S machine shop!
Brilliant. Nothing is more fun for me than to make a tool.
To actually use it and see it working is more fun for me ;-)
Amazing 👌
such a patient man, enjoy your videos, although I don't have your skills and tools really enjoy your videos
Lovely diy project....
Hab die dinger immer gekauft, weiß gar nicht warum 😀 funktioniert super, hab gleich mehrere größen selbst gebaut 👍. Danke top video
Great video I believe you can make just about anything thank you for sharing
Thanks for watching
Very neat.
Probably it's has been already asked, but could you please let me know what brand/model is that "Dremel" like hand tool?
Minimo is the name of the manufacturer... He replied in one of the earlier comments.
God I love your videos. Excellence personified. Extraordinary.
! ! ! Sencillamente estupendo, . . . . hasta pronto ¨Manos Mágicas¨ , . . . saludos desde México.
Here I thought last night after watching the lamp...I was done for a few weeks
Tonight I check the app and you're here
Short but sweet
Thanks!!
I hope you got the message that you were missing a part inside the lamp. Flame spreader :)
I will make this one. Thanks
another amazing videoo :D thank you :D
Thanks for watching
you got every thing to make.
I would really love for you to give us a tour of your workshop in one of your next videos.
I'd be interested in what tools you have and what you think are the essentials for getting started with machining and restoration.
Excellent
A bunos video from the last one. Owesome👍👍👍
Thanks :-)
Keşke senin gibi bir ustam olsa 🥰
Good work
Thanks
Perfect!!!
Thanks :-)
Good idea 👍good job 👍👍👍💣👌🏽✌🏻
Yes!!!!Thank you!!
And here I was thinkin you just slapped some polishing wheels on a pre existing bit... I shoulda known better! Nicely done bro! And GG as always!
so good you are bro
I am really enjoying all of the videos. I would like to see how you measure diameters while you are turning metal stock. I would appreciate tips on using micrometers, calipers, and other measuring instruments. Thank you
Muy bien! Ya solo me falta el torno 😜
@my mechanics insights I have discovered your channel very recently, and I instantly loved it. Thank you for this - and really great work - such an enjoyment to watch!! You will soon get the Diamond TH-cam button, I have no doubt. Can you also show your sandblasting machine maybe :)?
Love it
Thanks David :-)
Got it. I just need a Lathe to make one of those.
Awesome vid. I need more to survive in 2020 plz!!!
Nice 👍👍
I have been hooked and fascinated since I found your channels. How long have you been doing restorations like this? You make it look so easy with your skill but from the rare reflections you look like a young man. I am in awe of your skills and am loving the tutorials. Thanks!!
Great!
Insight is a man best friend. Thanks very much for sharing your insights.!.!.!.

Thanks!
Thank you :-)
I watched the lamp restoration video before this one and was wondering where you got that wheel.
Of course, you make new one.
Just came across this, nice video. For those of us without a metal lathe, I would think we could do something similar with a hex or lag bolt, as long as it is balanced.
My cheapo rotary tool came with one and the little pads. This is like planting wheat to make croutons for your salad.
2:12 Old bedsheet? Looks newer than a new 😂
Nice.
Thanks!
I never learn about this but once i tried to restoration the lamp that I have found and i succeed
I love when you post yOur restoration videos. This too was a great DIY vid.
I wondered though, the 100% cotton fabric you used as a buffer, could it possibly work in a DIY facial mask, or probably a lining for it?
What's not to like cheers from OZ.
I need one of those machines to polish my rings
Great video as always. I wonder what do you do with all the scrap? I think that the waste managment at you shop would be a good video in this channel
Do you think at some point you will make a workshop tour, where you go over all of the tools and machines you use?
You are my technical icon. I wish you to take up bike engines and restore. Since engines are having much more mechanism including paint removing process and final paint finishing process.
That would be a 2h video haha
@@mymechanicsinsights We (now) have time! Haha
@@Oo-IIII-oO but it would take me 2 years to make the video 🤣
@@mymechanicsinsights I am ready to watch your video even if it is 4 hrs.

Super
Thanks
What rotary tool is that? My Dremel doesn't release bits that quickly.
I was wondering too! He prolly made it, judging by some of the videos!
I was wondering the same thing too. Hopefully he will answer.
Someone said brand called minimo
Вери гуд 👏👏👏💯👍
